With a GREEN LIGHT from the President and a joint task force to coordinate .... Americans will solve this problem and state and local law enforcement will be a huge part of that solution.
For cities whose Mayors want to prevent the enforcement of US immigration law, the joint task force can develop plans using federal and state sources to do the removals. After all, that's what we have an ICE agency and National Guard to do. And we have other resources as well like DEA, IRS, ATF and FBI agents that can be utilized in the process.

Once there's a GREEN LIGHT from the President, there's no Mayor or City Council still preventing enforcement of US immigration law who isn't on the take with the drug cartels. You all have to remember that under existing US immigration law, aiding, abetting and harboring illegal aliens is already a federal crime and Mayors and City Council members who do that are already violating US immigration law. This applies to state legislators and Governors as well.

Mayors, Governors, Legislators and City Council members supporting illegal aliens after Trump issues the GREEN LIGHT will have no sanctuary of their own, seems to me. They'll all be targets of federal investigations for corruption, immigration violations, bribery, kickbacks, and illegal drug conspiracies. And rightly so. We didn't get in this mess because these state and local officials give a hoot about illegal aliens, we're in this mess because they're all on the take with the drug cartels behind illegal immigration.

So they would have to proceed in that direction at their own peril, seems to me.

I believe the word I'm searching for to describe what Sherry, MW and JohnDoe2 are dealing with that is giving them a hard time to see how this actually works is: juxtaposition.

You all are trying to evaluate or judge a deportation plan within the present confines of a pro-illegal alien Presidency that not only provides sanctuary to illegal aliens but sanctuary to those in power at state and local levels aiding and abetting that sanctuary. That doesn't work, because the new environment of Trump will not be pro-illegal alien, it will be anti-illegal alien and that changes everything for everybody, not just illegal aliens, but all those who aid, abet and harbor illegal aliens, including Mayors, City Council members, police chiefs, Governors, even members of state legislatures.

I believe Sherry is right when she says there will be a "war" in LA. I've called it protests and riots, but the word "war" is fine with me, because it's going to be rough in LA, very rough. But it will pass quickly because the protesters and rioters in their acts of war against our country will be exposing themselves, and they will be swiftly arrested and deported.

What will actually happen on the political level is all these crooks selling our country out to illegal aliens will realize their own peril, shut their big mouths, lay low, hide their money and cooperate in every manner required. After all, not one of them is courageous enough to spend the next 20 to 30 years in prison for federal immigration corruption charges to continue doing the bidding of illegal aliens and foreign drug cartels.

Or, so it seems to me.

It's so funny to see someone pretend to be an expert on every issue.

What I think is funny is someone who wants to stop illegal immigration yet worries about the traitors leasing homes and apartments to illegal aliens and what will happen to their investments when Trump deports all the illegal aliens.

I'll say it again. What we will do if Trump gets in and what can be done is impossible to say. Because the big change that we are looking forward to is somebody, anybody, actually doing something about the problem. Once Trump makes this huge change the playing field will change dramatically and only then can we say what to do next about these looming obstacles.

You have mistake someone pointing out something that will happen and then you think it means they are concerned about traitors who rent to illegal aliens. The ramification go much further. If the banks lose payments on to many investment properties their income drops and landlords with no income and banks with lower income can affect the economy which affects the income of most people and governments. So it seems it is something that needs to be pointed out ahead of time, if only so it doesn't come as a surprise later on for people who won't see it coming. But thanks for your concern.

There are many deceits being perpetuated by many parts of the government, local and otherwise, that need to be enforced against. No changes in federal law are necessary, just some discipline will be necessary. Federal law is the supreme law of the land and local governments are subject to it. Just because the federal government holds responsibility for enforcing our borders and immigration doesn't mean that local government can ignore it. Local government cannot contradict federal law.

There was no mistake. That someone was pointing out one part of the event, ignoring the elephant in the room which is the millions of Americans who today can't afford a home or apartment because illegal aliens stole their jobs but who after deportation will rent those homes and apartments because they got their jobs back and can afford them again.

What Would Happen to the Economy If Trump Got His Way

Before calling for their deportation, consider what the absence of these workers would do to the American job market

Donald Trump's Immigration Plan by the Numbers

Donald Trump unveiled an immigration proposal on Sunday, announcing that all undocumented workers "have to go." In addition to the legal and budgetary hurdles that the billionaire Republican presidential candidate's plan would face, it's worth considering the latest research examining the contributions these workers make to the American economy. Here's what their removal might mean for everyone else in the country.

    1. The supply of workers would shrink, a lot

After peaking at 12.2 million in 2007, the number of unauthorized immigrants living in the U.S. has now leveled off at 11.3 million as of 2014, estimates from Pew Research Center show. Those who are working within that population (some, like children, don't work) made up 5.1 percent of the nation’s labor force in 2012, according to Pew. If you take these workers away, you're removing 8.1 million workers from the American labor force.

What's more, there are not enough workers to fill all of the jobs undocumented workers would leave. There were 8.3 million unemployed workers in the U.S. as of July—nearly the same number as the number of undocumented workers—but because of labor market churn, skills gap and geographic differences, it's virtually impossible to drive the unemployment rate to 0 percent. Some of those workers would have to stay jobless, which means some jobs would go unfilled.

    2. Service occupations would feel the burn

Not only do undocumented immigrants make up a sizeable portion of the workforce, but they're highly concentrated in certain jobs, the Pew analysis found.

They're much more likely than U.S. workers to work in service occupations—think maids, cooks and groundskeepers—and less present in professional, management, business and finance jobs. You can also find a greater portion of unauthorized workers in farming and construction. If the labor market saw a worker outflow, these job categories would bear the brunt.

    3. Native workers wouldn't see a raise

In an ironic twist, deporting undocumented workers might even cause some native workers to earn less. While Trump says that an influx of immigrants drives down native workers' salaries, economists aren't so sure. Here's a good review of the research debate.

One theory is that low-wage, undocumented immigrant workers actually complement native workers. This view states that when unauthorized workers take low-paying jobs, their American counterparts move on to take more specialized and high-skilled positions. A 2012 Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta paper paints a picture of how that played out in data from Georgia. The researchers found that documented workers at companies hiring undocumented workers earn 0.15 percent less than if employed by a firm that does not hire undocumented workers, but in sectors where tasks are specialized and communication skills are a plus, native workers can expect a wage premium (though it's less than 1 percent).

    4. Americans could see fewer jobs

Reducing the undocumented immigrant population by 50 percent through border control or deportation would boost the native unemployment rate for unskilled workers by about 1.13 percent of its initial value, according to a March 2015 paper by Andri Chassamboulli at the University of Cyprus and Giovanni Peri at the University of California at Davis. The change would come as employers' labor costs for unskilled workers increases, prompting them to create fewer jobs. The unemployment rate for skilled workers would also climb by 0.57 percent, they found.

There's a flip side. Other evidence shows that undocumented immigrants hurt job prospects for low-skilled U.S. workers. See this report from the United States Commission on Civil Rights on the effects on black employment.

    5. The Social Security Fund would take a hit

Undocumented workers contributed $13 billion in payroll taxes to old age, survivor and disability insurance in 2010, a Social Security Administration study from 2013 found. They accessed about $1 billion in benefits, so that nets to a $12 billion contribution that wouldn't exist if you deported them.

I hope the federal government can deport every illegal alien and all of their anchor babies too. But there are a lot of consequences to those actions that may not have been discussed yet. We can not possibly foresee everything that could happen.

    And then there's Murphy's law

Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

    1. Our pool of American workers forced out of the labor force is already so large at 94 million, it's staggering, so the shrinkage created by removing illegal aliens is irrelevant, except that it will remove at least 87% of them from welfare and reduce government spending on welfare dramatically, which is a good thing.

    2. All the American workers forced out of their service occupation jobs could return to work, "think maids, cooks and groundskeepers", and "farming and construction."

    3. Native workers would not only get their jobs back they would get them back at American rates.

    4. Not under any theory or law of the universe does putting Americans back to work increase the unemployment rate, it decreases it and does so in a real-time meaningful fashion.

    5. The Social Security Fund would increase because the jobs filled by Americans would be a higher rates resulting in more payroll tax for Social Security.
