You seem convinced and ecstatic about this "proof", that is one sentence fragment from the co-chair of Dede's campaign. And it took days to finally find this one reference. This co-chair only says Dede will "stand tough on illegal immigration". Even Juan McCain says he's for strengthening border security.

It seems there would at least be some kind of indication in Dede's history if she is really against illegal immigration, since she has been in public office and service for years now, hasn't she?

I wonder why she doesn't even address this issue of illegal immigration at all on her website?

Hope for your sake she wins Judy. You seem invested in her winning, even though there does not appear to me to be much evidence of her voting in our favor. If she does win, we'll have to closely watch her voting record on all issues pertaining to illegal immigration.

We're all invested in her winning, builditnow. We're all invested in putting Republicans in the US Congress that can increase the voting block against amnesty and other leniencies for illegal aliens.

Martin isn't Co-Chair of her Campaign, he's Co-Chair of Conservatives for Dede, common sense fiscal conservatives. Martin says he's a law enforcement officer that's worked with her during her many years in the legislature on law enforcement issues, which is how and why he knows she'll stand tough on illegal immigration.

Remember the article I posted that showed her strong law and order voting record? Remember the article I posted that showed how the New York Albany Republicans which includes Dede as Pro-Tempore of the House took on Governor Spitzer over his declaration that he was going to issue driver's licenses to illegal aliens? The Republicans in the New York legislature stopped him. It was a huge nationally-covered event that went on for several weeks, a real show down.

I just checked my Congressman's website who is one of the leading anti-illegal immigration proponents in the US House of Representatives and his website doesn't say anything about illegal immigration either. In fact, he's the one who broke the story in a sidewalk press conference in DC on behalf of Ramos and Compean calling for a Congressional investigation of their prosecution which started the ball rolling to get these dear men out of prison, and is one of our strongest allies.

At the very time that we need to stack the Congress with representatives from the Republican Party, the only party in Congress that as a group has worked its butt off for at least 5 years to stop this madness of illegal immigration, is no time to aid or abet anyone who openly supports "a path so more people can enter the US--and work here" who doesn't want a "wall to stop all immigration." Doug Hoffman's own stated position in his own website is clear that he's not an ally of our cause, he's an open borders, pro-immigration, pro-amnesty, pro-free trade multi-millionaire globalist, the very opposite of what we need in the US Congress to stop what is happening to our country. He doesn't even support the FairTax, which most Republicans support, that will tax illegal aliens the same as Americans at the register and denies illegal aliens the Monthly Rebate to offset FairTaxes paid for essentials, so they pay taxes in our country without offset, until they're deported or leave and that will help to shut these phony not-for-profit "charities" like National Council of La Raza and their 300 massively funded affiliates down. He's for the "flat tax" that will keep these not-for-profit phony "charities" in business and their money flowing in and allows illegal aliens to continue ducking taxes altogether or filing phony tax returns to evade it while lining their pockets with child care tax credits.

I don't know what Republicans were thinking when they endorsed Hoffman, and I'm referring to people like Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty, Rick Santorum, Fred Thompson and Dick Armey who should have known better, not average citizens who rely upon the press for most of their news.

You know how all of us at ALIPAC are mis-labeled "racists" and "xenophobes" by the opposition because we want to stop illegal immigration? That's exactly what this group of Republicans have done to Dede Scozzafava by mis-labeling her a "liberal Republican". She's a social liberal, fiscal conservative. If you are a true fiscal conservative, which she is, and her voting record proves it, then you will never support amnesty, you'll never support illegal immigration, you'll never spend a dime without having the tax base to pay for it, you'll never vote to increase the legalization of foreign poverty by allowing it to reside in our country legally or illegally. It's a matter of fiscal conservative pragmatic philosophy as old as our country and the Republican Party.

Sarah, Tim, Rick, Fred and Dick have distorted her, lied about her and may have succeeded in putting either a pro-amnesty Democrat or a pro-amnesty pro-immigration pro-free trade Conservative in that seat because they didn't like Dede because she's Pro-Choice, believes in our current law, supports a woman's right to terminate an unwanted pregnancy if she wants to and supports the right of gay couples to get married if they want to. They have made Republicans look like fools, disjointed, squabbling amongst themselves, cutting and running. This was a very reckless and very careless thing to do when we're fighting to stack the Congress with more candidates to build a voting block in Congress to stop illegal immigration, curtail more immigration, defeat amnesty and reduce free trade because when combined, as we all know, these policies have bankrupted our country.

We'll find out on Tuesday whether they succeeded or not. I understand people in the general population getting all upset about Dede based on what Beck and Limbaugh, Palin and Pawlenty and several others were saying about her, but, it wasn't true. Dede doesn't support cap and trade, she doesn't support deficit spending and she doesn't support tax increases. She supports workers rights, individual rights, personal freedom, economic development, new jobs, law and order and national security. Dede is a Republican, in the truest sense of the word, and I wish her well on Tuesday for all of us.

Also, this is a special election to fill a vacancy. Whoever wins will have to run again in 2010.

Republicans catch a BIG break in New York 23 Posted: Saturday, October 31, 2009 11:09 AM by Chuck Todd

    From NBC's Chuck Todd
As first reported by the Watertown Daily Times, the Republican nominee in the New York 23rd Congressional special election, Dede Scozzafava, announced this morning she's suspending her campaign. Her exit leaves Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman, who had garnered plenty of national GOP support, as the favorite to win what was a hotly-contested 3-way race. Republicans had feared that Hoffman and Scozzafava would split the Republican vote in this somewhat competitive district and hand the seat to Democrat Bill Owens. Former Republican Congressman John McHugh resigned his seat earlier this year after he was named by Pres. Obama to be the Secretary of the Army.

"Wingnuts on the march again: Dede Scozzafava gets Hillaried, centrists should vote for her anyway

    "October 31, 5:26 PM Post-Partisan Examiner D.K. Jamaal

"It’s like the 2008 Democratic primaries all over again: once again the fringe wing of a party has hijacked the party to push out a strong, experienced, sensible woman in favor of radical extremist male who does not know what the heck he is talking about.

"Hillary Rodham Clinton began the primary season as the rightful frontrunner. She was tough, she was experienced, she was intelligent. She was also a sensible centrist progressive, a liberal not afraid to go muscular and hawkish when necessary.

"For her willingness to compromise with Republicans on national security issues – for the very reasonableness of her centrism – she was vilified and hated by the far-left wing fringe fruitcake nuts at the end of her party.

"The hippie left threw its weight behind Barack Obama, an inexperienced, shape-shifting hack of a politician with several questionable extremist political ties and personal relationships. Inexplicably, the Democratic establishment caved to the crazies, threw Clintonian style centrism under the bus, and gifted the nomination to Barack Obama.

"The predictable result is that Americans now have to live with the most inept, spendthrift, limp-wristed, weak and wishy-washy Democratic White House since the Carter years.

"Fast forward to 2009 and the special House of Representatives election in New York’s 23rd Congressional district.

"The front-runner was Dede Scozzafava, a moderate and principled female Republican who also happens to be a highly decent person and public servant dedicated to the betterment of her constituents’ lives. She is not a hack; she is willing to buck the party line on contentious issues. She rightly supports gay equality. She tries to balance abortion issues with her faith. She has rejected partisan divisiveness. In all of this, she has always been a loyal Republican whose sentiments are in line with those of her district – which is exactly the way a representative republic should work.

"But of course, the right-wing nutjobs decided to interject their twisted values and judgments and intervene in what should have remained a local race about local issues. People who cannot even vote in her district trashed Scozzafava for her moderate views and misrepresented her principles.

"The result is that Dede Scozzafava has been Hillaried, drummed out of the race for right-wing radical Doug Hoffman. Lost in all this is the fact that Doug Hoffman is a couple of pecans short of a fruitcake. Unlike Scozzafava, he has no legislative experience.

"So once again the centrist, experienced woman is tossed aside for the extremist, inexperienced boy. Ugh.

"This is a blow to people who still believe in moderation, reason, sensibility, and bipartisanship. It is another pyrrhic victory for the crazies who unfortunately dominate today’s political discourse.

"The pathetic, weak national Republican establishment – instead of beating back the nuts – are now jumping in Hoffman’s hearse to hell.

"Scozzafava’s angry supporters should not fall for it. They should not vote for Doug Hoffman, the tax-cuts-for-the-rich-right-winger . But nor should they vote for Democrat Bill Owens, a sworn Obamacrat, and thus endorse another vote for the President’s disastrous deficits and Carteresque style government.

"No, Dede Scozzafava’s backers should pull a PUMA at the voting booth – and vote for their girl anyway.

"Scozzafava, like Hillary, remained loyal and dedicated today by dropping out and releasing her supporters. Those supporters should not now turn their backs on her. Vote for Scozzafava anyway. And let the wingnuts know that they will not destroy those of us who can still think clearly and independently."

    _________________________

Republicans, Independents and Conservative Democrats ... Dede Scozzafava is still on the ballot, so you can still do the right thing on Tuesday. You know her, vote for her. She lives in your district, vote for her. You know she cares about fiscal conservatism, vote for her. You know she supports law and order, vote for her. You know she opposes cap and trade because it will destroy our economy, vote for her. You know she cares about working Americans, not illegal aliens, vote for her. You know she's not in bed with globalist open borders free trade traitor millionaires, vote for her. You know she's represented your area and people close to you for over 15 years and done so well, with no complaints, vote for her. Do the right thing, vote for her.

Don't let former Governors in Alaska who quit their job tell you who to vote for. Don't let a current Governor in Minnesota who led the "trade mission to China" in 2005 and who is holding his "trade mission with Mexico" this week tell you who to vote for. Don't let 2 former Senators who wanted to be President but couldn't get pass "GO" or pay their $200 tell you who to vote for. Don't let Rush Limbaugh who couldn't even get enough public support to buy into the St. Louis Rams tell you who to vote for. Don't let Glenn Beck who has confused himself attacking so many people who rightly deserved it with decent people who deserve none of hi attack tell you who to vote for.

Do the right thing, vote for Dede Scozzafava on Tuesday as you would have before the lies and distortions in the national media pervaded your district in the past 4 days. She's earned your vote over 15 years, her opponents and their out-of-district supporters have not.

By the way, from Doug Hoffman's website in his own words:

"Where do you stand on illegal immigration?

"There is no question that our immigration policies are flawed. The answer, though, is not to put up a wall and stop all immigration. The answer is to create an easier path for immigrants to enter the United States – and to work here – while at the same time getting tough on illegal immigrants who commit crimes."

    http://www.doughoffmanforcongress.com/i ... mmigration

Doug Hoffman is pro-amnesty, pro-immigration, pro-free trade backed by the Club for Growth whose policy goals include expanded free trade.

From Dede Scozzafava's website in her campaing press release of August 6, 2009, quoting Dwayne Martin, Conservatives for Dede Co-Chair:

"Conservatives for Dede Co-Chair Dwayne Martin said, "There are a lot of powerful interest groups in New York City and Washington, DC who think this race should be about their own national agenda — not about the issues that matter to us. Dede is a fiscal conservative with a record of creating jobs who will protect our Second Amendment rights, promote national security, reduce taxes and stand tough on illegal immigration. I have spent my career in law enforcement and I know that in Washington, Dede will support legislation to keep our families safe from criminals and terrorists at home and abroad. We are proud to strongly endorse her candidacy for the 23rd Congressional District.""

Dede Scozzafava is a law and order, fiscal conservative who will "stand tough on illegal immigration."

Not really, snakeoil. The election is Tuesday. That 3 days from now. Alot can happen in 3 day, I mean look what happened in the last 4 days. If Hoffman or Owens wins, then that's the way the ball bounced. Dede continues on in her State Assembly position with her future intact and another Congressional race for her or some other Republican next year since this is only the special election to fill the vacancy. Soooo, whoever wins Tuesday has to run again in the Spring to win the primary in August and then in the fall to win the General Election.

By then, there will be some votes to look at, some "activity", some semblance of a record, statements and comments to the press all over the place, speeches caught on video tape and of course televised debates on YouTube, (oh yes, whoever wins Tuesday will have to debate their butts off, no ducking that like the guys did this go around), and so much more to work with in a real campaign.

    SCOZZAFAVA BACKS OWENS, STUNS GOP

    SCOZZAFAVA BACKS OWENS, STUNS GOP
Lifelong Republican throws support to former Democratic rival
    SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2009

Sen. Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y., was among those who urged Dierdre K. Scozzafava to endorse Democratic congressional candidate William L. Owens, the senator's spokesman said Saturday.

The spokesman, Maxwell Young, said the senator called a number of north country political leaders after Ms. Scozzafava suspended her campaign and had more than one conversation with the Republican candidate ahead of her announcement. He said the senator also called other Democratic leaders about the situation, including White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

Mr. Owens said he was “honoredâ€
