My provider recently had to close down 1/3 of its services because both the government and insurance companies pay as little as they can. And vendors over charge. When I started my treatments, there was a doctor, not mine, who was very well liked. He retired after many years. I was talking to him about it on one of his last days. He did not want out, but the red tape government added, the fighting for payment from government and insurance, he said even with all his years in the business, he couldn't stay financially viable. It is very unfortunate because in my area, no one I know has found a doctor that's any good.
I remember reading years ago about numerous hospital going bankrupt in California due to illegal immigration. I'm sure a simple google will provide a lot of stories on this.
