Dr. Bryan Ardis: NICOTINE can “CURE brain tumors”

(Natural News) Texas-based chiropractor Dr. Bryan Ardis argued that nicotine can cure glioblastoma, a form of brain tumor.
He made these claims during a backstage discussion with David and Stacy Whited, the hosts of the “Flyover Conservative” podcast, at the Miami leg of Clay Clark’s 2023 ReAwaken America Tour. Ardis cited one study that found 36 different animal venoms in patients infected with the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19).
“During this [COVID-19] pandemic, they’re taking the exact same venoms, injecting them into mammals and seeing what they do inside of the patients,” he told the Whiteds. “They’ve actually published last year that they can take cone snail and king cobra venoms and inject them into mammals.”
Ardis added that these venoms cross the blood-brain barrier and within 72 hours, they bind to specific receptors in the brain stem of mammals. This leads to the development of glioblastoma, which is the most diagnosed brain tumor for the last 20 years.
However, the host of “The Dr. Ardis Show” on Brighteon.TV said the study authors did not disclose the tumor-fighting effects of nicotine in their paper’s summary.
“They then tested to see if nicotine at less than one microliter per milliliter (uL/mL) of blood would actually have any effect. In the summary, it says at that dose, it had zero effect. But the very next sentence is they upped it to one uL/mL of blood and they showed the electron microscope images. The brain tumor is completely obliterated in 72 hours, but they don’t even publish it in the summary.”
Ardis added that aside from glioblastoma, nicotine is also being studied for its potential against Type 1 diabetes (T1D). Scientists had also been injecting animal venoms that target the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas in mammals, causing T1D. Administering nicotine also reversed the disease within 72 hours.
Moreover, the Texas-based chiropractor said nicotine is also used to reverse the effects of Parkinson’s disease and counteract the venoms present in COVID-19 patients. (Related: Dr. Bryan Ardis tells Bob The Plumber: Early COVID treatment protocols are more effective with NICOTINE.)
    Ardis: Even VEGGIES contain nicotine

Mainstream medical sites have defined nicotine as a highly addictive substance found in all tobacco products and some e-cigarette liquids. However, Ardis contradicted this claim during his speech at the tour.
“They lied to you about nicotine,” he said. “Just so you know, Harvard University determined in 2015 that nicotine and tobacco products are not addictive. The tobacco industry figured out how to add chemicals called pyrazines to nicotine and finally make it addictive.”
True enough, researchers from Harvard noted the effects of these tobacco additives in a study published in Tobacco Control. They wrote: “Pyrazines appear to increase product appeal and make it easier for non-smokers to initiate smoking; more difficult for current smokers to quit; much easier for former smokers to relapse into smoking and may mask the risks of both active and passive smoking.”
Ardis also told the Whiteds that nicotine is present in various vegetables. These vegetables include potatoes, celery, cauliflower, eggplant, green tomatoes, zucchini and squash. He noted that God would have not created the vegetables with nicotine if it is really bad.
If nicotine is addictive, how many people have been addicted to celery? Can’t go to bed and need to take a celery break at work to go eat celery? How many people are addicted to cauliflower? Zero.”

Study: Tart cherries can help improve sustained attention and reduce mental fatigue

(Natural News) Tart cherries, or sour cherries (Prunus cerasus), are an incredible superfood that has gained widespread popularity in recent years. Montmorency tart cherries, the most commonly grown cultivar of tart cherries in the U.S., are often recommended to people with inflammation-related conditions, such as gout and arthritis, because of their potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities.
According to studies, the remarkable health benefits of tart cherries stem from their abundance of polyphenols and essential nutrients, such as copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium and vitamins B1, B6 and C. These beneficial components are also responsible for tart cherries’ positive effects on heart health, exercise-induced pain and recovery, stress and mood. As an excellent source of melatonin, tart cherries also promote better sleep.
In addition to these, a recent study published in the British Journal of Nutrition found that eating tart cherries also has a positive impact on cognition and mood. Following supplementation with Montmorency tart cherry concentrate for three months, middle-aged adults who participated in the study experienced improvements in cognitive performance and perceptions of fatigue and alertness.
These findings suggest that a healthy diet that includes tart cherries could help slow down deteriorations in cognitive function, which start in early adulthood and progress more rapidly in midlife. (Related: Tart cherry juice found to improve focus and cognitive function.)
Montmorency tart cherries are a rich source of anthocyanins – polyphenols that give many fruits and vegetables their red and blue colors. Polyphenols have potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties, and together with other phytonutrients in tart cherries (e.g., carotenoids and indolamines), they are capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier. This means that tart cherry polyphenols can exert their beneficial effects on the brain with ease.
Earlier studies suggest that one of the ways dietary polyphenols improve brain function is by increasing cerebral blood flow. Maintaining continuous blood flow to the brain ensures constant delivery of oxygen and glucose to brain cells and the timely removal of waste products, all of which help the brain function to its fullest capacity.
To determine the effects of long-term supplementation with tart cherries on cognitive function and mood, and to find out if it does increase blood flow to the brain, researchers recruited 56 middle-aged adults with low intakes of fruits and vegetables, low physical activity levels and at least one additional risk factor for Type 2 diabetes. The study was part of a larger clinical trial examining the influence of dietary polyphenols on various health indices.
The participants were randomly assigned into either the control group, which received a placebo, or the treatment group, which was tasked to take 30 milliliters (mL) of Montmorency tart cherry concentrate twice daily for three months. During the duration of the trial, the participants were asked to avoid consuming cherries, cherry products or antioxidant supplements, and to continue their usual diet and exercise routines.
The participants kept food diaries and their sleep, cognitive function, health and cerebral blood flow were all assessed before tart cherry supplementation and after the three-month intervention was over.
Tart cherry supplementation positively affects cognitive performance and mood

The researchers found that tart cherry supplementation did not have a significant effect on the participants’ sleep and cerebral blood flow, but it positively affected their cognitive performance and mood. Specifically, the treatment group had higher digit vigilance accuracy and alertness scores and lower mental fatigue scores than the placebo group after three months of tart cherry supplementation.
The digit vigilance test is a simple task designed to measure sustained attention and psychomotor speed. Sustained attention refers to the ability to focus on an activity or stimulus over a long period of time. The researchers believe that the increased accuracy shown by the treatment group in the digit vigilance task can be attributed to the anti-fatigue effects of tart cherries. They also noted that this improvement in sustained attention could be beneficial to middle-aged adults when doing daily tasks like driving and working.
Aside from improved attention and alertness, the tart cherry group also experienced a reduction in mental fatigue. Mental fatigue is a product of long-term stress and refers to a state of tiredness that sets in once the brain’s energy levels are depleted. The researchers intentionally repeated the cognitive tests twice to induce mental fatigue in the participants.
In line with previous studies, the researchers noted that histidine metabolism was upregulated after supplementation with tart cherries. They believe this event is responsible for the reduced mental fatigue experienced by the participants. The amino acid histidine is a precursor to histamine; studies show that increasing brain histamine levels through histidine supplementation can greatly reduce mental fatigue.
Other amino acids whose blood plasma levels were increased following tart cherry supplementation were phenylalanine, betaine and serine. These nutrients all play an important role in the maintenance of optimal brain health and function. The researchers believe that the increase in these amino acids is due to the influence of tart cherry polyphenols on protein fermentation in the colon and the metabolism of amino acids by gut commensal bacteria.
Analysis of the participants’ blood plasma also revealed that tart cherries increased plasma levels of choline, a derivative of serine that plays a pivotal role in neurotransmission. According to a study published in the journal Behavioral Neurology, maintaining healthy levels of choline through diet and supplementation has protective effects on cognitive functions, such as learning, verbal fluency, processing speed, sustained attention and working memory.
Previous studies suggest that tart cherries have vasomodulatory properties, meaning they can help regulate blood flow. An acute bolus of Montmorency tart cherry concentrate has also been reported to influence cerebral blood flow. The researchers hypothesized that the lack of effect they observed following long-term supplementation with tart cherries could be due to the rapid metabolism of anthocyanin and its metabolites. (Related: Here’s a laundry list of the disease-fighting effects of anthocyanins.)
It is possible, the researchers noted, that the vasomodulatory effects of tart cherries coincide with peak plasma concentrations of anthocyanin metabolites. Since these compounds are quickly metabolized by the body, the conceivable changes in vascular function brought about by tart cherry polyphenols may be transient. This means that tart cherry polyphenols, particularly anthocyanins, do increase blood flow to the brain, but this effect only lasts until all the polyphenols have been broken down by the body.
Based on their findings, the researchers concluded that “… bioactive foods that are rich in anthocyanins and other (poly)phenolic compounds can have an anti-fatiguing effect during periods of high cognitive demand, which are [sic] beneficial in daily tasks requiring vigilance.” Middle-aged adults could certainly benefit from incorporating tart cherries into their daily diet, as doing so could not only boost their brain performance, but also help slow down age-related cognitive decline.

U.S. authorities greenlight sale of lab-grown chicken – “Franken-chicken” coming soon to your grocery shelves and restaurant tables

    06/26/2023 // Ramon Tomey // 490 Views

Tags: badcancer, badfood, badhealth, big government, biotech, cancer causes, cancer criminals, clean food watch, fake meat, fast food, food supply, frankenfood, GOOD Meat, grocery, immortalized cell lines, junk food, lab-grown meat, products, science deception, science fraud, stop eating poison, toxic ingredients, UPSIDE Foods, USDA

U.S. authorities have approved the sale of chicken meat cultivated in laboratories using animal cells, paving the way for two companies to sell them to restaurants and supermarkets.
Upside Foods and Good Meat – both based in California – separately announced on June 21 that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has granted them approval for federal inspections. These inspections are an important prerequisite before their products are cleared for sale to groceries and restaurants. Both firms had been racing to be the first company to sell lab-grown meat in the United States.
A manufacturing company called Joinn Biologics, which works with Good Meat, was also cleared to make lab-grown meat products. The USDA earlier approved applications from Good Meat and Upside Foods to label their products as "cell-cultured chicken." Prior to this, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) deemed the two firms' products safe to eat. (Related: FDA declares lab-grown meat from UPSIDE Foods safe for human consumption – but is it?)
The Alameda, California-based Good Meat makes its products at a 100,000-square-foot plant. They obtain cells from a master cell bank formed from a commercially available chicken cell line. The cells are then combined with a broth-like mixture that contains amino acids, fatty acids, sugars, salts, vitamins and other elements cells need to grow.
The combined mixture is then put inside huge tanks called cultivators, where they grow into large masses. The resulting masses of cultured meat are then taken out of the tanks and shaped into various chicken products. These products include cutlets, nuggets and shredded meat.

Meanwhile, the Berkeley, California-based Upside Foods operates a 70,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in nearby Emeryville. But instead of taking cells from a commercially available cell line, experts from the company take cells from live animals. They choose cells that are most likely to reproduce quickly and consistently, and taste good when formed.
Upside Foods then grows muscle and connective tissue cells in cultivators, forming large sheets. The cultured chicken sheets are then removed from the tanks and formed into cutlets, sausages and other food items.
"Instead of all of that land … [and] water that's used to feed all of these animals that are slaughtered, we can do it in a different way," said Eat Just co-founder and CEO Josh Tetrick. Eat Just is the parent company of Good Meat.
Upside Foods CEO Amy Chen, meanwhile, said her company's chicken meat "is the meat [people have] always known and loved." She acknowledged that while many still have doubts over lab-grown chicken meat, they become more accepting of it once they understand how it's made.
People may be eating CANCER with lab-grown meat

People's doubts over lab-grown meat aren't unfounded though. The Raw Egg Nationalist (REN) noted in a February 2023 piece for the National Pulse that cultured meat could cause more harm than good because "immortalized cell lines" – a fancy name for cancer cells – are used to make it.
REN cited a Bloomberg article by contributing writer Joe Fassler explaining the need for immortalized cell lines in fake meat production. He wrote: "Normal meat cells don't just keep dividing forever. To get the cell cultures to grow at rates big enough to power a business, several companies … are quietly using what are called immortalized cells, something most people have never eaten intentionally."
While immortalized cell lines "are a staple of medical research," Fassler noted that these are technically pre-cancerous and can be fully cancerous at times. If placed under the right conditions, the immortalized cells in lab-grown meat products can multiply indefinitely.
"The problem is that the materials used to make the product – 'immortalized cell lines' – replicate forever, just like cancer. Which means, in effect, that they are cancer. Industry types are 'confident' that eating such products poses no risk. But it's not difficult to see, even if the products are 'proven' safe, how people might be put off by the thought that they're eating a glorified tumor."
REN agreed with Fassler's observation, noting that the danger of fake meat made using immortalized cell lines stems from the unavailability of long-term safety data for its consumption.

Detect Adulteration with Rapid Test (DART)
is helping bring awareness to food safety and quality control issues across the food supply. Food manufacturers may deceive consumers by using additives and fillers in common food and beverage items. Poor quality controls or natural processes can lead to unintentional adulteration of common food products. As food and transportation costs soar, manufacturers are more likely to shrink package sizes and use fillers to make their products go farther in the marketplace. Fillers may be used to water down a product or cheapen it, making it unsafe for the consumer, especially when allergens or heavy metals are involved. Here are some simple tests to check for adulteration of food, beverages, and spices.
Milk may be thinned with water or contaminated with starch or detergent

To test for water in milk, put a drop of milk on a polished slanting surface. Pure milk will either stay put or flow slowly, leaving a white trail behind. Milk that is adulterated with water will flow immediately without leaving a mark.
To test for detergent in milk, take 5 to 10 ml of the milk sample with an equal amount of water and shake the contents thoroughly. If the milk is adulterated with detergent, it forms a dense lather. Pure milk will form a very thin foam layer due to agitation.
To detect starch in milk, boil 2-3 ml of the milk sample with 5ml of water. Then, cool the solution and add 2-3 drops of tincture of iodine. If a blue color forms, starch is present.
Oils and Fats are often adulterated

To check for adulterated coconut oil, prepare the sample in a transparent glass and place the glass in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. After refrigeration, coconut oil solidifies. If other oils are present, they will remain as a separate layer.

To check for tri-ortho-cresyl-phosphate (TOCP) in cooking oils, prepare 2ml of the sample oil, then add on a little amount of solid yellow butter. If a red color forms immediately, TOCP is present in the oil.
To see if potatoes are used to water down butter, prepare ½ teaspoon of ghee/butter in a transparent glass bowl. Then, add 2-3 drops of tincture of iodine. If a blue color forms, then mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and other starches were used to thin out the butter.
Honey, grains, turmeric, and other spices are often adulterated

Insects, straw, seeds, pebble, dust, weevils, and rodent hair may contaminate common grains. To see if there is any extraneous matter in food grains, first place a small quantity of sample on a glass plate. The impurities can be detected visually.
To detect the presence of sugar solutions in honey products, first prepare a transparent glass of water. Then, add a drop of honey to the glass. If the drop of honey disperses in water, it indicates the presence of added sugar.
Lead chromate and artificial colors are often found in turmeric products. To detect for lead chromate, start by adding a small quantity of turmeric whole in a transparent glass of water. If the turmeric is pure, it will not leave any color. Adulterated turmeric appears to be bright in color and leaves color immediately in water.
Other common problems that can be detected include: sawdust in powdered spices, argemone seeds in mustard seeds, chalk powder in sugar, excess bran in wheat flour, artificial colors in chili powder, saw dust in chili powder, grass seed in cumin seed, rhodamine B in sweet potato, chalk in common salt, maize cob in saffron, papaya seeds in black pepper, artificial color on green peas, clay in coffee powder, and iron fillings in tea leaves.

NEW FINDING: Colorful turkey tail mushrooms contain compounds that boost immunity and FIGHT CANCER

Turkey tail mushrooms (Trametes versicolor) is often seen in forests decomposing dead wood. However, this mushroom – called "yun zhi" in Chinese and "kawaratake" in Japanese – can support the immune system and help fight cancer.
A group of researchers from Poland looked at turkey tail mushroom's effect on breast cancer. In particular, they zoomed in on protein-bound polysaccharides (PBPs). The results of their findings were published in Cellular Physiology & Biochemistry.
According to the study, PBPs can alter the communication between breast cancer cells and macrophages -- white blood cells that consume pathogens and bad cells in the body. PBPs also inhibit cancer cell growth and movement, reduce the release of factors that promote blood vessel growth and increase the production of inflammatory substances with anti-tumor properties.
"These findings suggest that PBPs have chemopreventive properties and they are a promising agents to prevent [triple-negative breast cancer] progression," the Polish study authors concluded.
A separate clinical study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) also found that freeze-dried T. versicolor dramatically boosts immune function for women with breast cancer from Stage I to Stage III – with the possibility of tumor shrinkage. The study noted that daily administration of turkey tail mushrooms led to increased benefits for the immune system without any negative side effects.
Mycologist Paul Stamets, research director for the NIH study, said cancer is known for evading detection by the immune system. One theory has suggested that consuming T. versicolor can enhance the immune system's natural killer (NK) cells, which are better able to recognize and bind to receptor sites on tumor tissue.

Two PBPs in turkey tail mushroom stand out

Of the many PBPs in turkey tail mushroom, two compounds stand out – polysaccharide-K (PSK) and polysaccharide-peptide (PSP). Both compounds are known to stimulate the immune system, though only the former gets more attention due to its potential as a cancer treatment. (Related: Turkey tail mushroom finally being studied in U.S. after 30 years of use in cancer treatment in Japan.)
Both compounds contain alpha- and beta-glucans, as well as numerous amino acids like glutamine – which is responsible for the distinct "umami" flavor of mushrooms. PSP can help immune cells recognize invaders and cell abnormalities. Moreover, it can help activate beneficial pro-inflammatory responses to eliminate pathogens and keep cells healthy.
The much-lauded PSK can activate the immune system's NK cells, increasing white blood cell activation while interfering with enzymes involved in metastasis – the spread of cancer cells from one portion of the body to another. A 2008 study in BMC Cancer expounded on this, adding that PSK prevents cancer cells from dividing out of control. PSK also works alongside a unique lipid in turkey tail mushrooms to increase its uptake, further bolstering its health benefits.
Incorporating turkey tail mushrooms into the daily diet

Turkey tail mushrooms can be consumed in several ways:

    • Add to recipes. Finely chop or grind dried turkey tail mushrooms and incorporate them into favorite soups, stews, or sauces. The mushrooms' umami flavor also helps the dishes taste better.
    • Capsules or powders. These are convenient ways to add turkey tail mushrooms to the daily routine; just make sure to choose a reputable brand.
    • Extract. This is a liquid form available in a dropper; the liquid can be squeezed directly into the mouth.
    • Tea. Steep dried turkey tail mushrooms in hot water for a soothing and healthy beverage. They also now make mushroom coffee blends, which some say taste much better.

Artemisinin from sweet wormwood treats not just malaria but also CANCER

Artemisinin from sweet wormwood treats not just malaria but also CANCER

A unique class of antimalarial drugs known as artemisinins, or just artemisinin, shows promise as a novel anti-cancer therapy. Research published in the journal Pharmacology & Therapeutics explains that repurposing drugs for other purposes, such as artemisinin for cancer, "can significantly shorten new therapeutic discovery pathways, ensuring greater accessibility and affordability globally."
"Cancer is a leading cause of death globally and the majority of cancer related deaths occur in Low and Middle Income Countries (LMICs) where conventional treatment options are often limited by financial cost," the study further explains.
"Artemisinins have an excellent safety and tolerability profile as well as being affordable for deployment in Low and Middle Class Income Countries at around USD1 per daily dose. Robust, well designed clinical trials of artemisinin drug repurposing are indicated for a variety of different cancers and treatment settings."
(Related: Artemisinin is also a remedy for malaria, several localized cases of which have emerged in Florida and Texas.)
Artemisinins are safer and arguably more effective than chemotherapy and radiation

It was Nobel Prize winner and eminent Chinese scientist Prof. Youyou Tu who four decades ago first discovered that artemisinin is a powerful remedy for malaria. The drug class is used all around the world to mitigate the disease.
Since then, the artemisinin class of drugs has continued to intrigue scientists and medical professionals because they recognize that its repurpose potential as a novel therapeutic agent for other conditions is strong.

"Artemisinins are a remarkable class of compounds that have shown promising cytotoxic effects against viruses, fungi and a variety of cancers as well as powerful anti-inflammatory effects in animal models of asthma, sepsis, arthritis, pancreatitis, systemic lupus erythematosus and haemorrhagic shock," the paper explains, citing a litany of sources to back their use for each of these unique purposes.
Keep in mind that, despite being labeled as "drugs," artemisinins are technically natural in that they are derived from sweet wormwood (Artemisia annua L.). They represent a family of sesquiterpene trioxane agents that contain an active metabolite known as dihydroartemisinin, or DHA for short.
"Artesunate, artemether and arteether are derivatives of artemisinin that are wholly or partially converted into the active metabolite dihydroartemisinin (DHA)," the study reveals.
"Sweet wormwood (qinghao) has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for two millennia to treat fevers and a variety of inflammatory conditions. Humanity has probably wrestled with the life-threatening global epidemic of malaria since as far back as 770 BCE with a detailed description of symptoms of malaria described in the Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor, written around the time of the Chun Qiu and Qin Dynasties (770–207 B·C.)."
Renowned Chinese physician Ge Hong (284-363) listed qinghaosu as an essential remedy for fevers in the publication Emergency Prescriptions Kept up one's Sleeve. He also wrote a treatise called "On Airs, Waters, and Places"in 400 B.C. when Hippocrates was describing "agues" and "tertian fevers" as frequently affecting people who lived close to swamps and marshlands where mosquitoes happen to live and breed.
Fast-forward to today and artemisinins are not only being used to treat malaria but also cancer.
"The antimalarial quinine was used in the early 20th century as an anti-arrhythmic agent to treat atrial fibrillation," the study explains.
"Difluoromethylornithine (DFMO) which was originally developed as an anti-cancer therapy has been repurposed as a treatment for sleeping sickness. To date there are over 100 candidate drugs undergoing drug repurposing clinical trials for cancer."
"An artemisinin drug repurposing programme for a number of cancer types, with a variety of clinical settings and combination therapies from pump priming window studies to Phase III clinical trials is urgently needed."

European regulator investigates SUICIDE RISK associated with popular weight-loss drugs

    07/17/2023 // Olivia Cook // Views

Tags: appetite reducers, badhealth, badmedicine, Big Pharma, Dangerous Medicine, EMA, European Medicines Agency, FDA, fight obesity, mental, MHRA, Mind, Ozempic, pharmaceutical fraud, Prescription drugs, psychiatry, Saxenda, self-harming thoughts, side effects, Social media, suicidal thoughts, weight-loss medicine

The European Medicines Agency (EMA), the European equivalent of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, is conducting a review of some weight-loss drugs after being alerted about new complications and a possible link to thoughts of suicide and self-harm among users.EMA's Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee (PRAC) initially examined data on people using liraglutide (Saxenda) and semaglutide medicines after being flagged by the Icelandic Medicines Agency about three cases of new complications – two cases where people had suicidal thoughts while using Ozempic and Saxenda and one case of self-harming thoughts while using Saxenda.
Liraglutide and semaglutide medicines are widely used, with exposure of over 20 million patients years to date. One patient-year is the equivalent of one patient taking a medicine for one year, EMA said in a statement.
It is not yet clear whether the reported cases are linked to the medicines themselves or to other factors like the patients' underlying conditions.
The review is being carried out in the context of a signal procedure – whether the drugs should note suicidal behavior as a side effect. A signal is information on a new adverse event that is potentially caused by a medicine or a new aspect of a known adverse event that warrants further investigation. The presence of a signal does not necessarily mean that a medicine caused the adverse event in question.
Saxenda and Wegovy are authorized for weight management in people who are obese or overweight in the presence of at least one weight-related health problem.

Ozempic is authorized for the treatment of adults with insufficiently controlled Type 2 diabetes, but has also been used off-label for weight loss.
Suicidal behavior is not currently listed as a side effect in the European Union product information for any GLP-1 receptor agonists. (Related: Experts warn: Popular weight-loss drugs could cause DEADLY side effects.)
The review of Ozempic, Saxenda and Wegovy started on July 3 and has now been extended to include other GLP-1 receptor agonists. This review is expected to conclude in November.
EMA will release results of the investigation when available. If one of the incriminated medicines is deemed dangerous, regulatory action like suspension of marketing authorization or withdrawal of the medicine from the market may be taken to ensure patient safety, EURACTIV.com reported.
Social media helps weight-loss drugs become popular

Social media posts about people shedding large amounts of weight have led to big demand for these types of treatment.
All medicines have potential side effects. For weight-loss drugs, side effects include constipation, diarrhea, headaches, nausea, stomach ache, tiredness and vomiting. Prescribers are also advised to monitor for any mental changes, especially sudden changes in the mood, behaviors, thoughts or feelings of patients.
Manufacturer Novo Nordisk is working with the EMA and says patient safety is a top priority.
"The safety data collected from large clinical-trial programs and post-marketing surveillance have not demonstrated a causal association between semaglutide or liraglutide and suicidal and self-harming thoughts,” Novo Nordisk said in a statement to CNBC on July 10.
The U.K.'s drug regulator, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), said it was monitoring the situation.
"As part of our close monitoring, any emerging evidence is routinely considered alongside other sources of information, including suspected adverse drug reactions. We will communicate any new advice to healthcare professionals and patients if appropriate," said MHRA Chief Security Officer Dr. Alison Cave.
Cave urged users to seek immediate medical assistance if they experience suicidal thoughts or thoughts of self-harm and asked everyone to report any suspected side effects using the MHRA Yellow Card scheme website.
