Even Healthcare Workers Oppose The Flu Vaccination

December 30, 2011 by Bob Livingston

    UPI FILE
The flu vaccine is nothing more than another Big Pharma/Big Government scam.

Annual flu vaccinations are big business for Big Pharma, doctors and others who get commissions on every vaccination they give.

If this were not so, do you think big chain pharmacies would spend so much money and time promoting them?
The flu vaccine is nothing more than another Big Pharma/Big Government scam. According to research by The Cochran Library, flu vaccines are 99 percent ineffective.

This fact is further borne out by the fact that even healthcare workers don’t want the vaccine. The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) is opposing a move by the Colorado Board of Health (CBH) to require its healthcare workers receive annual flu vaccines.

In a letter to the Board, AAPS wrote, “In the age of ‘evidence-based medicine,’ it is shocking that there is so little evidence that the influenza vaccination program is effective. Indeed, there is evidence that it may be ineffective.” And AAPS also noted that fewer than half of American healthcare workers choose to be immunized annually.
What do those healthcare workers know that you don’t? The vaccine industry is a dangerous and deliberate fraud.

10 Things To Do to Survive 2012

    January 2, 2012

No one is predicting 2012 to be an uplifting year, economically. All major financial analysts predict stagnation at best, while others warn of likely doom and gloom as the dollar continues to become less desirable around the world.

In 2010, China and Russia agreed to stop trading together in dollars and Japan agreed to do the same with China just last week. Moves like that coming from these major economic players only can spell doom for those who rely on the strength of the dollar.

With commodities like food and oil still trading in weakening dollars, it puts further pressure on the soaring prices of these essentials. All signs seem to indicate that the cost of living in dollar-based economies will likely rise dramatically in 2012 as well.

Additionally, just as Western populations find themselves broke and without jobs, their governments are also on the brink of bankruptcy and are reducing domestic spending, while continuing to print endless gobs of money for fraudulent banks and endless wars. The notion of reversing this trend is not promising.

Since 2012 will likely be another tumultuous year for at least over half the American population who are already sliding on the razor’s edge of poverty, it’s important to prepare accordingly.

Here are 10 things to do in 2012 that will help you survive economic fluctuations and even full-blown collapse:

    1. Learn New Skills:
The best insurance you can take out for an economic downturn is learning new skills. Skills to produce something beautiful or beneficial to humans is the only true form of wealth that no one can take from you. Examples of skills to survive economic collapse can be organic gardening, food storage, food preparation, animal husbandry, construction, sewing, candle and soap making, first aid and natural medicine, hunting and fishing, alternative energy, mechanics, and anything else that fills basic human necessity. Many other skills are viable as well should society not deteriorate completely such as writing, communicating, organizing, software coding, etc. Note: These skills are beneficial to have regardless of economic conditions.

    2. Improve Your Health:
Yes, this is everyone’s cliche New Year’s resolution. But in times of great uncertainty, especially economically, taking care of your health is ultra important. When each week may be make-or-break financially, very few can afford to lose a week or more of productivity because of illness. Additionally, great stress is likely facing everyone in 2012. Thus, full spectrum health of body, mind and spirit will be vital to survive and thrive in tumultuous times.

    3. Store Backup Food: The overall global food price index increased by 33% from January 2010 to January 2011. Did your income rise by that much in 2011? Did the value of your investments increase by that much in 2011? If not, storing extra food is far more practical than maintaining a savings or investment account. And in terms of withstanding a possible collapse of the dollar or economy in general, you’ll be in much better shape than if your resources are in a banking institution.

    4. Create a How-To Library:
There is no way to learn all of the things that may be useful in times of severe economic distress. Many of us rely on the Internet as an immediately accessible library of how-to information. However, if something were to happen to Internet access in 2012, which is clearly under threat of censorship and control, it’s important to build your own personal library of useful how-to knowledge; books, ebooks, videos etc. Get an external hard drive and start downloading books and videos that may prove priceless in times of need.

    5. Start a Side Business:
Waiting for the government or anyone to “create” jobs is futile and foolish. The West has clearly entered an age of prolonged economic downturn where manufacturing jobs are unlikely to return with any significance. It’s time to focus on creating something for yourself, whether you’re currently employed or not. Learn to forage for deals and small earnings. Learn to create. Start a small side business and build the foundation for an additional stream of income with something you’re passionate about. Start a blog, write a book, teach or take a class — anything that you can sink your teeth into.

    6. Gather Trade-able Goods:
If things go from bad to worse, besides food, there are many things that will be valuable to have stored up. First consider your personal needs and overbuy those items. Things like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, wet wipes, baking soda (countless uses), Q-tips, first aid products, alcohol, and medicine. There are also several survival goods that you should backstock like; water filters, fuel, lighters, lighter fluid, seeds, weapons, common ammunition, batteries, and hand tools. These are regularly used in daily life and won’t ever go to waste, but they also have great trade value should times get tough. All of these items can be picked up very inexpensively if you keep your eye on deals and buy in bulk.

    7. Build Community Alliances:
Everyone needs a supporting tribe when times get tough. Inform your family and friends of your plans to prep for the worst and the new business ventures you’re engaged in. Encourage them to get involved with you in any capacity that makes sense. Seek others in your community already doing these things and collaborate with them. Support local businesses and local food cooperatives. Go to your town hall or city council meetings and suggest community activities that increase self-sufficiency of the area to cushion any disruption.

    8. Alternative Energy:
Having any source of alternative energy is just plain smart for any circumstance. A backup generator, whether solar-powered or gas, is imperative for those who live in cold climates (along with a wood stove or fireplace) prone to electric outages in the winter. But imagine if the lights go out for an extended period of time. Solar hot water, a solar-powered chest freezer, a solar oven and a small generator will provide a high level of self-reliance for energy with minimal investment.

    9. Water Purification: Clean water is so vital to your health and survival that you should acquire several ways to purify water. First, before disaster strikes, test your water now. You may be surprised to discover that disaster or not, your water may already be contaminated with countless toxins including sanctioned additives like fluoride. There are several affordable options for turning unhealthy water into crisp fresh water from portable hand-pumped units, table-top setups, faucet attachments, to pills and bleach drops. It’s recommended to have more than one option, so research and find the best that you can afford that suits your needs.

    10. Love & Appreciate:
One of the most important intangible things you can do to survive 2012 is to love and appreciate more. Make it a daily action item: express love to your friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers. What you put out into the world is what you’ll get in return. Appreciate what you do have every day. Don’t be disappointed because others may have more, because there are always others with far less. Your genuine appreciation for the little things will attract the bigger things you need and desire.

Leaked: US to Start ‘Trade Wars’ with Nations Opposed to Monsanto, GMO Crops

    Anthony Gucciardi
    NaturalSociety
    January 3, 2011

The United States is threatening nations who oppose Monsanto’s genetically modified (GM) crops with military-style trade wars, according to information obtained and released by the organization WikiLeaks. Nations like France, which have moved to ban one of Monsanto’s GM corn varieties, were requested to be ‘penalized’ by the United States for opposing Monsanto and genetically modified foods. The information reveals just how deep Monsanto’s roots have penetrated key positions within the United States government, with the cables reporting that many U.S. diplomats work directly for Monsanto.

The WikiLeaks cable reveals that in late 2007, the United States ambassador to France and business partner to George W. Bush, Craig Stapleton, requested that the European Union along with particular nations that did not support GMO crops be penalized. Stapleton, who co-owned the Dallas/Fort Worth-based Texas Rangers baseball team with Bush in the 1990s, stated:

“Country team Paris recommends that we calibrate a target retaliation list that causes some pain across the EU since this is a collective responsibility, but that also focuses in part on the worst culprits. The list should be measured rather than vicious and must be sustainable over the long term, since we should not expect an early victory. Moving to retaliation will make clear that the current path has real costs to EU interests and could help strengthen European pro-biotech voices.”

The Leaked Political Agenda Behind Monsanto’s GMO Crops

The ambassador plainly calls for ‘target retaliation’ against nations who are against using Monsanto’s genetically modified corn, admittedly linked to organ damage and environmental devastation. Amazingly, this is not an isolated case. In similar newly released cables, United States diplomats are found to have pushed GMO crops as a strategic government and commercial imperative. Furthermore, the U.S. specifically targeted advisers to the pope, due to the fact that many Catholic bishops and figureheads have openly denounced GMO crops. In fact, the Vatican has openly declared Monsanto’s GMO crops as a ‘new form of slavery’.

“A Martino deputy told us recently that the cardinal had co-operated with embassy Vatican on biotech over the past two years in part to compensate for his vocal disapproval of the Iraq war and its aftermath – to keep relations with the USG [US government] smooth. According to our source, Martino no longer feels the need to take this approach,” says the cable.

Perhaps the most shocking piece of information exposed by the cables is the fact that these U.S. diplomats are actually working directly for biotech corporations like Monsanto. The cables also highlight the relationship between the U.S. and Spain in their conquest to persuade other nations to allow for the expansion of GMO crops. Not only did the Spanish government secretly correspond with the U.S. government on the subject, but the U.S. government actually knew beforehand how Spain would vote before the Spanish biotech commission reported their decision regarding GMO crops. The cable states:

“In response to recent urgent requests by [Spanish rural affairs ministry] state secretary Josep Puxeu and Monsanto, post requests renewed US government support of Spain’s science-based agricultural biotechnology position through high-level US government intervention.”

Monsanto has undoubtedly infiltrated the United States government in order to push their health-endangering agenda, and this has been known long before the release of these WikiLeaks cables. The U.S. is the only place where Monsanto’s synthetic hormone Posilac is still used in roughly 1/3 of all cows, with 27 nations banning the substance over legitimate health concerns. Despite Monsanto’s best attempts at incognito political corruption, nothing can stop the grassroots anti-Monsanto movement that is taking over cities and nations alike.

    Why Is Everyone Going Bankrupt?

January 2, 2012 by Bob Livingston

With the printing presses wide open, there becomes a serious shortage of cash, like right now.

Gradualism tricks the mind. Gradualism removes the shock potential of events, no matter how serious the consequences.

If you saw a dead body on the street, you would be shocked and horrified. If you saw two more dead bodies the next day, you would still be shocked, but somewhat less so. Then, if you began to see new bodies every day, you would eventually pay no attention at all. Gradualism neutralizes the mind and numbs the senses to reality.

The U.S. economy has been in gradual collapse for several months, along with Europe’s and economies of most of the world.

In the United States, it is common knowledge that bankruptcies are widespread and occur daily. Almost 46 million people are now on food stamps. No telling how many really are, as government statistics are totally unreliable.

We are having a debt collapse that will continue until the slate is wiped clean and a new system is put in place. Hopefully, it will be gold-based.

How long will this debt collapse continue? No one knows, but it would already have happened if the United States didn’t have the exclusive ability to print fiat money and force it on the American people and the rest of the world. Nobody else can do this.

Even so, inflation (debasement) of fiat money eventually becomes deflation. With the printing presses wide open, there becomes a serious shortage of cash, like right now. Nobody has enough cash money.

During the Weimar German inflation, the German government took over all newspaper presses in order to speed up production of fiat money. And of course, the money exchange value went to zero with piles of paper money in the streets.

Still, there are many variables that can determine how long a debt-based fiat currency can stay in a state of collapse until the end.

Zimbabwe was printing trillion-dollar notes at the end. The people and the system had to use foreign currencies to survive. But even so, it took 28 years from independence for the former colony of Rhodesia to become an economic basket case.

Of course, money debasement speeds up and becomes exponential in the last months of a regime’s existence. It is happening here in the United States, but gradualism is still a mental block and the people are not sufficiently alarmed to take survival action. This will change, I promise!

All dollar assets are evaporating. Only gold, silver, land and commodities appreciate when fiat money is collapsing.

Fiat money is the rot of our land; but politicians, bankers and government love it. They create it and perpetuate it as long as they can at all costs, because it is a wealth-transfer system to the government from the middle class.

Did you know that the fiat money creators can steal your assets just by printing money? Not one person in a million understands this, but all people should — even schoolchildren. This widespread knowledge would block the chicanery and ongoing fraud.

Don’t forget that bankers can magically make dollars exist in the form of entries in the accounts of borrowers or lenders. No wonder they can and have created “money” to infinity.

It is bad money creating bad debt. It always collapses because it self-destructs.

Seems to me we are awfully close to the last months. In the past three years, the U.S. public debt (printed money) exploded by $5 trillion.

The United States is 244 years old, and more than one-third of the national debt has been created in just the past three years. The dollar price of gold is telegraphing this message to anyone willing to listen.

There is no painless solution. In fact, there is no solution under the present system. Everyone is too greedy. But I believe that the individual person can survive reasonably well by owning a mix of silver and gold coins.

If your funds are limited, buy small coins for barter and, for goodness’ sake, keep them in your possession, not anywhere else.

Have non-perishable food and water stored along with organic garden seeds from www.seedsofchange.com. Be sure to store sea salt, the elixir of life.

You know all the commonsense things to do, like keeping your car in good shape and having some cash on hand. Those who can should get money out of the United States while it is still legal.

Exchange controls will come. The authorities always stop money from leaving the country, but they will always let money in. This means that funds in Switzerland or other countries can be returned to the United States.

And, no, a Swiss annuity does not have to be in the Swiss franc. It can be in other currencies as well. The Swiss deal in almost all currencies. The idea is to get money out of the U.S. dollar and out of the United States.

Now, what I have written, tens of thousands of people know, but only a precious few take action. No shock has to be triggered for alert people to take pre-emptive action. They act because of conviction from their reading and studying, and are not fooled by government propaganda.

    Gardening Is A Lifesaver

January 2, 2011 by David Morris

Buy more (a lot more) of the seeds that you have experience growing.

One of the most frightening aspects of a post-disaster situation for me isn’t zombies, mutant bikers or drug-crazed home invaders swarming my neighborhood like locusts. Those storylines are frightening and dramatic and make good climaxes in books and movies, but they are not my greatest concern.

Don’t get me wrong, history teaches us that when resources are in limited supply or when the thin veneer of society gets torn, people turn to violence and crime in increasing numbers. But even in a society like Mogadishu, Somalia, violence — even daily violence in the rare cases when people are exposed to it that often — isn’t the main concern for most people. It’s something much more basic. It’s food.

Sometimes my 4-year-old decides that he doesn’t want what we’re eating for dinner. We start giving him the choice between eating or a timeout, then between eating or playtime after dinner, then, no bedtime stories, and a few times he’s made the choice to go straight from the table to bed.

In the few times that he’s chosen this poorly, it always plays out the same way: At some point he starts crying because he’s hungry.

When we have plenty of food in the house and he’s hungry because of making bad choices, it’s no big deal. But every time this scenario has played out, I think about how awful it would be to be in a situation in which supply chains were broken down and store shelves are empty and hear these same cries every night. Then he would cry not because of poor choices that he’s made, but because of poor choices I’ve made.

That’s one of the reasons why our family and thousands of you have taken the practical steps of laying up a store of supplies to take care of our families in the event of a disaster. As “weak” as it may sound, we don’t want to hear our kids crying because we didn’t prepare for predictable problems.

The problem of feeding your family after a disaster breaks down into a couple of broad categories: short-term and long-term.

If a pandemic swept the country starting tomorrow and everyone had to be quarantined for seven, 21 or 30 days (like what happened in several cities during the 1918 Spanish flu), you wouldn’t really have time to start a garden and enjoy the harvest or start raising animals before starving, dying or at least becoming combat ineffective.

Of course, a pandemic isn’t the only situation that makes it important to be in control of your food supply. An oft-quoted statistic is that the items on an average U.S. dinner table travel an average of 1,500 miles to get there. Being a math geek, I always doubt the accuracy of statements like this, as well as the methodology of reaching them. What I do know is that many of the things that I eat take multiple forms of transportation, types of fuel, means of communication and methods of commerce to reach me. If any of these elements break down, the whole system grinds to a halt.

In case food delivery is disrupted and you aren’t in control of your own food supply, you should have a store of food set aside. Some people say you should have a five-year supply set aside; others say a one- or two-year supply. I say that all three are great but that the bare minimum that every family should have is a 40-day and 40-night supply (which is why I created the www.40DaysOfSurvival.com course). But no matter how much food you have set aside, it doesn’t get you “off the grid” or make you “self-sufficient.” Food storage simply provides a stop-gap between consistent supplies of food.

If you’ve been a longtime reader, you know that I’m much better at hunting, fishing, gathering and trapping than I am at gardening. I do garden, because I see the value and importance of doing so, but I know great gardeners and I’m not one of them. At the same time, I know how critical it is to be close to your food supply and responsible for your food supply in times of supply chain breakdowns, food shortages and food inflation.

I’ve researched and used several food-production solutions, including sprouting, micro greens, hydroponics and aeroponics, but one of the coolest frameworks for food independence surprisingly comes from Communist Cuba.
(If you’re Cuban, I’d really appreciate your comments on this.)

When the Soviet Union collapsed, the countries that depended on them experienced considerable turmoil. In the case of Cuba, the country lost an influx of cash, food, cheap oil, cheap petroleum products and cheap petroleum-based chemicals, including fertilizers.

The centralized planners had to figure out a way to feed their people and do it fast. Communism didn’t provide an answer. In fact, it virtually guaranteed starvation for hundreds of thousands of Cubans.

So they took a decentralized approach and pushed food production down from big centralized farms to small neighborhood and family plots.

Since they no longer had access to cheap, petroleum-based fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides, they were forced to figure out organic (before “organic” was cool and hip) solutions to achieve healthy crops. In the process, they ended up delivering a better product to dinner tables across the country.

One of the interesting things about how this played out is that since food production had been centralized, most families didn’t have the knowledge, skill, tools or soil necessary to immediately have productive gardens, much like the situation in the United States right now. Unfortunately, the situation in Cuba dictated that individual families needed to get the skills and tools to grow their own food almost overnight.

The Cuban government trained people who visited neighborhoods and taught people how to create and maintain healthy soil that would produce healthy food. They bought and harvested the necessary quantity of seeds to distribute. They also did mass quantity buys or had required tools manufactured in state-owned facilities so that they could distribute them as widely and affordably as possible at the local level.

Was it still communistic? To a certain extent, yes. The state still controls the larger plots, the water and many of the tools. But the thing that was so telling to me was that the Cuban government was willing to give personal liberty back to the people to solve this huge problem.

Some of the plots were larger inter-city state-run plots, some were neighborhood plots and others were family plots, but the act of pushing food production down to individual families created jobs and a higher quality of food for everyone.

What do the numbers look like? Havana has a population of 2.1 million people. When you include the outskirts, it’s more like 3.5 million people. Forty percent of the population is involved in urban agriculture — from family plots tended at night to larger community plots with full-time employees. There are between 2,500 and 3,000 gardens that provide half a pound of fresh produce per person per day, the majority of which is consumed within walking distance of where it was produced.

Frankly, I don’t want to see this exact chain of events happen in America. I would rather not see the Federal Emergency Management Agency handing out seeds, tools and education after a disaster. It would be better than nothing, but I would much rather see individual families and companies store up the necessary knowledge, seeds and tools to roll out completely independent training and gardening centers in the event of a long-term breakdown in the supply chain. Hopefully, this would never happen, although it could with a coronal mass ejection from a solar flare, an electromagnetic pulse, the meltdown of the dollar or the collapse of the electrical grid or the Internet.
On the family level, what you can do is buy more (a lot more) of the seeds that you have experience growing with the thought in mind that if there were a total breakdown, you would quickly become a teacher and teach your neighbors how to grow food that you already know works in your area in your soil.

Some people will immediately see this as an opportunity to do a form of share-cropping, and I think that’s a great idea. In short, if you have seeds, skills and possibly even tools, you have the opportunity to give a neighbor seeds and training in exchange for a percentage of their crop. You would then have the opportunity to consume, sell or trade the crops that you received in exchange for seeds, training and possibly tools or the use of tools.

A couple of things to keep in mind. If you’re storing seeds, you want to keep them as cool as possible. Even though most seeds are advertised as having incredibly long shelf lives, those shelf lives are based on very low storage temperatures. A good rule of thumb is that every 10 degrees cooler you can keep your seeds will double their lifespan. So, at 72 degrees, three years is a good expectation. At 62 degrees, six years is safe. At 52 degrees, 12 years, etc. If you don’t have a basement, cellar, refrigerator or freezer space, you need to dig a deep hole or plan and rotate accordingly.

Next, in addition to having the exact seeds that you have already used on hand, you’ll probably also want to have short-season seeds on hand in the event that you have an early to mid-season catastrophic failure.

And, unless you have an abundance of room, you’re also going to need to have the know-how to harvest and preserve seeds from one season to the next.

But, don’t let the complexity of a perfect solution keep you from taking measurable forward steps. Buy seeds, do a 1-square-yard garden plot, and/or take lessons from a local grower on how to garden. Best case scenario, you’ll get to enjoy how much better food tastes when you’re close to the source. Worst case scenario, you’ll be able to feed your family and possibly your neighborhood in the event of a catastrophic disaster.

If you’re Cuban and/or have thoughts or experiences on this strategy, please share them by commenting below.

NASA Says No 2012 Doomsday, But Preppers Have Other Worries

January 4, 2012 by Sam Rolley

NASA has posted a frequently asked questions section on its website seeking to quiet talk about 2012 being a year of catastrophic disaster for the planet Earth.

Many preppers have explored possibilities of disaster scenarios that could play out in 2012 based on information from ancient texts, celestial observations or simply the general state of world affairs. Though there were numerous social and natural disasters in 2011 that have led many people to believe a massive catastrophe is looming, scientists at NASA say that 2012 doomsday theories are false in a recently released FAQs section, “2012: The Beginning of the End or Why the World Won’t End.”

“There apparently is a great deal of interest in celestial bodies, and their locations and trajectories at the end of the calendar year 2012. Now, I for one love a good book or movie as much as the next guy. But the stuff flying around through cyberspace, TV and the movies is not based on science. There is even a fake NASA news release out there,” says a statement from NASA senior research scientist Don Yeomans.

While the planet may not be in imminent danger this year, many people say the outlook for 2012 appears to be filled with the possibility of widespread military conflict, growing protests throughout the world, more global economic failures and further evidence of government’s inability to function in the way in which it was intended.

In what may be a prediction of rocky times ahead, a report in The Daily Mail last month explained that in much of Europe, following widespread economic calamity, being a prepper has gone from eccentric to mainstream.

Personal Liberty Digest™ has long been an advocate of survival, self-sufficiency and the prepper way of life. Though 2012 may not include a world-ending event, it is impossible to know when disaster or hardship will strike. Being prepared for the worst at the beginning of this new year is as easy as visiting Personal Liberty’s™ Survival and Self-sufficiency section and taking heed of the suggestions of the expert preppers who contribute.

GlaxoSmithKline Fined for ‘Bad Paperwork’ After 14 Die in Illegal Vaccine Trial

Judge: Vaccine Giant Just Bad at Paperwork After Fault Found Over Consent Forms

RELATED: GlaxoSmithKline Fined Over Illegal Vaccine Experiments Killing 14 Babies

Buenos Aires, Argentina – GlaxoSmithKline, the world’s second largest drug maker was fined $93,000 for what the Associated Press and other Main Stream Media outlets in the United States are calling “paperwork errors” (here). Unfortunately, the paperwork in question had to do with the recruitment of poor children of illiterate parents into a vaccine trial that some say, claimed the lives of fourteen infants.

Judge Marcelo Aguinsky also fined two of the trials investigators $70,000 each for their role in the deception because the consent forms that are required by law in Argentina were signed by illiterate parents and in some cases by adults who had no custodial rights over the children.

GSK and Argentine Health Officials state that there are no links between the experimental vaccine and the death of the fourteen babies in the drug trial. A spokesperson for ANMAT, Argentina’s equivalent to the United State’s FDA, even went so far as to claim that “All of these patients had been given a placebo – that’s to say, something that appeared to be the vaccine but that had no active ingredients. The vaccine is safe.”

Two things must be mentioned here: first, the findings of the court were for faulty paperwork. How can anyone be sure that these babies hadn’t in fact been given the vaccine? Second, it is common knowledge that during vaccine trials, a “placebo” isn’t exactly saline solution or purified water (here).

Given the ANMAT spokesperson’s own words; “something that appeared to be the vaccine but had no active ingredients” means very little in terms of potential lethality of the vaccine Placebo. It is common knowledge that during vaccine trials the Placebo more often than not, contains the toxic materials in the vaccine and simply doesn’t include the antigen or virus itself.

This means that the infants were still, more than likely, injected with Mercury, Aluminum, Polysorbate 80 and a host of other neurotoxic, carcinogenic and immune system destroying chemicals. This is a trick of the trade that can keep the fatalities on both sides of the study at an even keel since more often than not; the injuries caused by vaccines are from the common ingredients used for bactericides, adjuvants, etc.

One must also consider that while the presstitutes, bowing to their corporate masters , may consider these fines to be the result of clerical errors, the very real lives of innocent children were directly affected. The media however, will consider GSK’s current stocks price as the only victim.

This $93,000 fine is small compared to GSK’s other legal issues that have resulted in settlements. GlaxoSmithKline is actually the proud owner of the largest settlement in the history of the pharmaceutical industry (here); a three billion dollar fine to settle three separate legal cases regarding the sales and marketing of nine different drugs. The investigation that resulted in this record breaking fine was for the illegal marketing of drugs between 1997 and 2004. The drugs in question were some of GSK’s most popular, including Paxil, Wellbutrin and Avandia. Avandia alone made $2.4 Billion in profits the year prior to the settlement announcement.

In 2010, GlaxoSmithKline paid a $750,000,000 fine to settle charges that it sold adulterated drugs made at Cidra, one of its Puerto Rico plants (here). This fine consisted of $150 Million in criminal charges and $600 million in penalties made to federal and state authorities. The drugs in question were Kytril, Bactroban, Paxil CR and Advandamet.

The drugs were made between 2001 and 2005 at GSK’s Puerto Rico facility. The investigation that led to the fine was initiated with a warning letter from the FDA in 2002. The Cidra facility was finally closed by GSK in 2009 due to “declining demand for the medications produced there”. According to Goliath Business, in 2003, US sales of Paxil(R) and Paxil CR(TM) were US$1.9 billion. (here)

This begs the question; if the FDA knew about issues with the manufacturing facility and these drugs in 2002, why did they continue to allow the plant to produce the pharmaceuticals up until GSK pled guilty and paid the fine?

All of these fines discussed in this article would be large by most industries standards but given the huge profits made in the pharmaceutical industry, they are but a drop in the proverbial bucket. Which leads me to one final question: are the innocent children being destroyed in third world nations and the lives being affected here in the western world by poorly manufactured and dangerous drugs simply a cost of doing business? If that is indeed the case, which I believe it to be; every single drug on the face of this planet simply cannot be trusted.

Top 10 Ready Nutrition Articles of 2011

    Tess Pennington
    Ready Nutrition

    December 2011

As 2011 is coming to a close, I am taking time to look back, and am most thankful for the gift of another year to prepare, the knowledge I was lucky enough to learn, the relationships I cultivated, and the changes I see within myself as a result of the last 12 months.

No doubt many of you have changed as a result of adopting a preparedness mindset. Change is the only constant in this crazy universe and will happen whether you like it or not. Rather than viewing change as an unnecessary stress and resisting it altogether, embrace it and become fluid with it. Learning to be more fluid and respectful of change in your day-to-day life will help you adapt to it more quickly.

As I continue onward in my preparedness journey, I look forward to what is around the corner. Whatever it may be, I know it will be in my best interest because, after all it is in God’s plan. I read once that when God prunes us it is a necessary pain and one that will create beauty and make us healthier.

That being said, I hope all of you had a productive year and have made positive changes in your life. Without further adieu, here is a list of the top articles of 2011 for Ready Nutrition.

Thanks to you all for continuing to come come back to this website to get information on preparedness and homesteading.

    Warmly, Tess Pennington
