Smart Meters Make Themselves At Home . . . by Force

    Heather Callaghan
    Friday December 23, 2011

Many Idaho residents want nothing to do with the new Smart Meters forced on them by Idaho Electric and the Public Utilities Commission in order to replace analog electric meters.

Some simply don't want them, others don't appreciate the eerie surveillance of residents' whereabouts and usage and the ability for remote power shut-off, especially where medical devices are concerned.

Most alarming have been the health effects from the EMF output – headaches, insomnia, nausea, ringing ears and more reported by residents nationwide.

Idaho Electric has been caught installing Smart Meters without permission, despite protest, even hopping fences while residents are away. Whether residents are home or not, IE reps have brought armed law enforcement to make sure the job gets done and police go without questioning or filing paperwork.

The media has been strangely quiet about the incidents and the outraged residents. One reporter interviewed an investigative blogger who brought the incidents to light, and wanted to clear it with her editor first. The story never made it to the papers. If anything, the mainstream media have lauded the new “energy efficient” Smart Meters despite growing evidence of health hazards and power spying.

On the one hand, IE says they would never force them on anyone (they just bring cops for good luck?), yet most utility companies and their bedfellow Public Utility Commissioners are calling them mandatory. They're not. And corporations are not allowed to bypass local officials and those they serve with mandates anyway

Meanwhile, in Santa Cruz, CA, PG&E has resorted to another tactic of force – electricity shut-offs. And two weeks before Christmas to really tighten the screws. This time the media was there and PG&E was compared to both Scrooge and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

Local customers had pleaded with PG&E for weeks to have their Smart Meters removed, some installed without their knowledge. These residents were facing some serious health effects like insomnia, nosebleeds and nausea. After not being heard, they finally resorted to having professional electricians replace them with analog meters. So, naturally, PG&E shut their electricity off with no notice and no hope for their power back anytime soon.

Some of these paying customers had small and ill children who had to stay with relatives due to having no heat in freezing temperatures, and others had medical issues that required electricity for devices. Ironically, PG&E blames the action on the “public health safety risk” of having an electrician remove the meter.

Their choices were: no power, Smart Meter, or a digital meter which also emits EMF and causes health problems. A rep explained that the residents were supposed to call to get on a delay line until some opt-out method was developed, which would be weeks and weeks away. From the sounds of this “mandate,” any kind of opt-out will prove nearly impossible -- it already has. There were also hefty fees associated with any opt-outs which made PG&E look much better.

Thankfully, this type of corporate retaliation brought forth disgust and wrath from Santa Cruz public officials who intervened to help the families.

In a board meeting, they grill a PG&E pawn, and school her on her company's indefensible and non-sensical actions. They wanted answers and wouldn't accept her vague ramblings. They wanted to know exactly who to contact that could actually make a decision for the residents with no power. NOW -- not six weeks from now when some opt-out or delay decision made it down the ladder.

This board meeting is a must-see! Local government at its finest -- actually stepping in to protect individual liberty.

In one memorable part, a board member compares this corporation's actions to bankers pretending to help homeowners with mortgage questions, but systematically making sure they never talk to the same rep, sending them all over the place, and never actually helping their paying customers.

“We're having a Dickens moment here,” says one member. “You can choose to be Scrooge or you can say 'Let's get into the spirit of the holidays and help someone in need.'” A someone, who, by the way, is paying for this service! Another member wanted a different situation corrected: a resident said “No” to the Smart Meter, but it was installed anyway

    Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=yIGqz_2uGTs

PG&E has since restored power -- for those few families, but what about others? Strangely, they restored power to the homes without any meters at all.

The Survival Pyramid: Helping Families Prepare

December 26, 2011 by Peggy Layton

In Alabama in April, tornadoes destroyed homes and disrupted lives.

This Survival Pyramid was created by a friend of mine who sells food storage and survival products. Her name is Brenda Nicholson. In November, I flew to Florida to help her sell survival foods at the Tea Party convention. She published this Survival Pyramid and gave me permission to use it in this article.

Prepare For The Worst And Hope For The Best
There is no way we can know exactly what emergency situations might occur. If you break down the short-term and long-term emergencies and prepare for them in sequence, it will be easier and less overwhelming to put together emergency survival foods and other supplies just in case you encounter a power outage, tornado, hurricane, flooding, civil unrest or any other type of local disaster.

To stay healthy and survive any emergency situation, we must have adequate food and water. Prepare as if you are going on an extended camping trip. Think through the most likely scenarios that you could encounter where you live and prepare for them. My book, Emergency Food Storage And Survival Handbook, goes into great detail on this subject. Go to www.peggylayton.com to get the book.

The following is a list of things needed for short-term or long-term situations:

    • Bulk long-term dehydrated food or quick and easy-to-fix meals.
    • An alternative way to cook without power and cooking supplies.
    • Paper and plastic goods, such as: paper plates, plastic cups, garbage bags and silverware.
    • Alternative communication, such as a battery-powered radio.
    • Shelter for protection from the weather such as tents, tarps, Mylar® blankets and other camping equipment.
    • Sleeping bags, blankets and warm clothing.
    • Alternative heating.
    • Emergency lighting.
    • Sanitation and hygiene supplies, including toilet paper.
    • Medical supplies.
    • Fuel or wood for cooking outdoors.
    • Fishing and hunting supplies.
    • Cash in small denominations.
    Step No. 1
Prepare for immediate disasters from one to three days. That is why the bug-out kit is also called a 72-hour kit. The water should be in a separate container with a handle for easy carrying. Smaller containers for each person would be helpful. It is recommended that everyone in the family have 3 gallons of water per person. (1 gallon per day).
The 72-hour bug-out kit can be put into a backpack. It should be lightweight and be easy to grab and go. It should include the following:

    • Three days’ worth of pantry or easy-to-open-and-eat meals.
    • High-calorie energy bars.
    • All other lightweight supplies for survival.
    Step No. 2:
Prepare for short-term disasters for up to three weeks: things such as severe natural disasters, local and regional power outages, and food and water shortages. It should include the following:

    • Clean potable water (21 gallons minimum per person).
    • Bulk supplies of regular pantry food (63 meals). They should be easy to prepare. Freeze-dried and dehydrated meals are recommended.
    • All other survival items listed above.
    Step No. 3:
Prepare for intermediate disasters of one to three months. This could include Food shortages, riots, strikes, natural disasters and other emergencies on a massive regional scale. Store the following:

    • 100 gallons of water (minimum) per person.
    • Bulk long-term dehydrated food or (90-180) emergency quick, easy-fix meals.
    • All other survival items listed above.
    Step No. 4:
Prepare for long-term emergencies of up to four months, which could include massive natural disasters: financial or economic collapse; and no electrical power, lights, heat, plumbing or food supplies.
    You will need the following:

    • Four months to one year supply of food.
    • An alternative long-term water supply or filtration system.
    • Alternative communication, such as Ham radios, scanners and battery-powered radios.
    • Off-the-grid power source, generator or solar power.
    • Alternative cooking and heating with propane or solar.
    • Wood for cooking outdoors.
    • Lanterns with fuel, flashlights, candles and alternative lighting.
    • Sleeping bags, wool blankets, warm winter clothing, wool socks and warm boots.
    • Tents, fishing, hunting and camping equipment.
    • Non-hybrid garden seeds and tools to grow a garden.
    • Extensive medical supplies and emergency medications.
    • Sanitation, medical supplies, non-food items and feminine hygiene supplies.
    • Paper goods, such as: paper plates, plastic cups, garbage bags and plastic silverware.
    • Antibacterial soap and wipes, hand sanitizer and cleaners.
    • Stash of cash.
As we approach the new year, it would be good to have a master preparedness plan. Anything you can do on this list would be helpful. It takes dedication and focus to be a Prepper. My husband and I have been working on it for 25 years. We set new goals every year. We are always planning and working toward the next preparedness project. Just take the first step then move to the next. You will feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that you are making progress toward having your family prepared.

British Prepare Evacuation Plans Ahead of Spain and Portugal Collapse

British Foreign Office personnel have proposed emergency evacuation plans for their citizens living throughout Europe, especially in Spain and Portugal. As tensions over the survivability of the Euro mount, the government warns that a collapse of the banking sector and the European monetary unit may make it impossible for those with assets in affected countries, including bank deposit accounts and homes, to access their funds and evacuate to Britain.

The drastic proposals emerged as a former Security Minister warned expats could be left stranded and destitute by the break-up of the single currency.

Brits who invested their savings in their adopted countries may not be able to withdraw cash and could even lose their homes if banks call in loans, worried ministers are warning.

The Foreign Office is preparing to bring them back from Spain and Portugal if the two countries are forced out of the euro, triggering a banking collapse.

Commenting on the evacuation plans, she added: “I think they are right to be doing that. I think this is a real contingency that they need to plan against – very, very worrying.”

Officials are braced for a nightmare scenario where thousands end up penniless and sleeping at airports with no means of getting home. Planes, ships and coaches could be sent, with some expats being brought out through Gibraltar.

The Foreign Office could offer small loans while piling pressure on the banks to give Brits access to their funds.

Spanish and Portuguese banks guarantee the first 100,000 euros deposited by savers but many put limits on withdrawals in a crisis. Source: Mirror

Still think a European collapse is implausible?

The British would not be making these plans if they didn’t expect the entire system to devolve into chaos. We’re not just talking about inaccessible bank accounts here, but political and social upheaval. The kind that topples governments.

This is serious. Entire nations are collapsing.

What To Expect From The Government After The Collapse

    Fernando Ferfal Aguirre
    December 23rd, 2011
    The Modern Survivalist
    Comments (326)

The following excerpts have been graciously contributed by Fernando Ferfal Aguirre and were originally published in his highly rated book The Modern Survival Manual: Surviving The Economic Collapse. You may also visit his web site at The Modern Survivalist.

Editor’s Note: Ferfal’s first-hand experience following the collapse of the Argentine economy in 2001 is one that should be reviewed and contemplated by all those concerned with a similar outcome in the United States or Europe. From bank runs, crime waves, and food shortages, to restrictive government policies and corruption, Ferfal details what you can expect when the end of the world as we know it becomes reality. For many, especially those just beginning their preparations, reserve food, water, guns, ammunition and off-grid survival supplies are keystones for emergency and disaster preparedness. While these are absolutely essential to a well rounded SHTF plan, Ferfal further expands on traditional ideas by incorporating modern survival strategies, especially for those living in urban settings, including topics such as securing your shelter, risk assessments, riots and looting, defensive driving, weapons selection, knife fighting and self defense, post-collapse financial opportunities, bartering, and reality-based anecdotes.

He also includes discussions on how you can expect your local and central governments to respond when chaos reigns supreme, supply shortages leave tens of thousands without food in their bellies, and the value of your currency is equivalent to toilet paper.

In light of recent developments in the USA and Europe, which suggest that governments are not only aware of the near-term possibility of currency meltdown, bank runs, and widespread rioting, but that they are preparing response plans which may include deployment of military personnel and detainment of citizens, Ferfal has allowed us to reprint portions of the relevant discussions on this topic to help you better understand what to expect and how you can prepare for it.

    Your Government After the Crisis

People want to believe in “change” or “hope” and thus grant him [The President] that power.
He promises he’ll use this power wisely and only for a little while. Like a little boy with a new toy, he promises to give it back soon. But that toy is SO nice, it makes everything easier for him and it feel so good to play with it…

In Argentina that toy was called the “super powers.” So-called emergency powers beyond the powers usually granted to a president by our Constitution.

Combine that with rampant corruption and placing puppet in the Senate and the Supreme Court, and governors in a few key provinces. A president in Argentina holds more power than a king of old Spain or England ever did.

And so freedom is lost and things become more “medieval,” as in the relationship between the king and the peasants.

“How does that reporter dare to criticize what I do? How dare the weak, whining opposition question my demands?”

Little by little, they get drunker with power and lose their perception of normal political reality until they no longer even bother covering things up.

…In Argentina, the official statistics managed by the INDEC are openly modified to fit whatever the president wants. 22% unemployment looks bad to our international investors, so a good patriot is expected to submit figures of 8% instead. That sounds much nicer. Besides, the worst the media can do is say it’s a lie. The “official” number is 8%, and some will call that figure bullshit…but it’s so much better than everyone having that 22% number in their heads.

Things reach a point where everything is bullshit.

What to Except From The Government After The Collapse

After an economic crisis and with a “benevolent” authoritarian figure in charge, you can expect the following:

    • Expect Corruption: Maybe in their minds, it’s not even corruption. The high ranking politicians simply do extra-legal “favors” for one another, and perhaps they even believe their own BS speech, that they are doing them for “the greater good.” Or perhaps not. Perhaps they are just greedy, lying crooks from the very start.
    • Expect Loss of Freedom: Particularly the loss of gun rights. Americans should keep a close watch, and consider gun rights to be the “freedom barometer.” There will be direct attacks on the right to keep and bear arms. Reinterpretation of the Second Amendment. Indirect attempts such as taxing ammunition and firearms out of the reach of the average citizen. A greater number of legal requirements to own firearms. Some people believe that armed citizens don’t stand a chance against a national military force, especially one as powerful as the United States Army. This is the bullshit lie all governments around the world want you to believe, but the reality is very different.
    • Expect Censorship: We’ve experienced a growing amount of censorship in many forms. Calls from the Presidential Office directly intimidate reporters and news directors. There are threats of legal action and tax persecution to anyone that dares question the government… Phone tapping and email reading are widespread as well.
    • Expect an Inefficient Legal System: With growing crime, fewer resources, and possibly significant amounts of corruption getting in the way, the legal system will become slow, inefficient, and in some cases it may not work at all. For example, in Argentina legal resolutions not only take years, these days you can’ even expect justice at all. For some reason I’m not entirely certain of, even murderers and serial rapists are not being incarcerated. A disturbing number of them are being sent right from court to “home imprisonment.” I suppose it’s mostly due to prisons already containing over three times their maximum population capacity, and there being few resources to build more prison space.
    • Expect Failing Public Institutions: Hospitals, schools, and public transportation companies that receive government tax subsidies have all collapsed and are in awful condition where they do still function.
    • Expect Crumbling Infrastructure: The roads, bridges, and public infrastructure will get worse as time goes by.
    • Expect a Cultural Change (for the worse): I’ve seen bookstores, coffee shops and theaters closing, to be replaced by casinos, pastoral churches that are as bad as casinos (they steal people’s money promising salvation), bingo halls, drugstores where they mostly sell booze, porno shops, and internet booths, gloomy stores where people that mostly look like perverts get online.
    • Expect More Extreme Poverty and Shanty Towns: No big secret here either. It happened in the USA during the Great Depression and it happened here in Argentina after 2001 as well. Even now, the “villas” (shanty towns and tent or cardboard shack cities) are growing like a fungus all around Buenos Aires. People also take over abandoned factories and hundreds of families live there. Usually a local thug takes over and rents or sells the space.
    • Expect a Smaller Police Force: And expect police to concentrate mostly on the capital and major cities, in the downtown business areas and the nicer looking more affluent neighborhoods, usually in that order of preference. The government behaves very much like a cellular organism. When resources are scarce, the police mostly concentrate in the center, capital cities and places where high ranking officials live, leaving the suburbs and smaller towns to fend for themselves.
    • Expect “Commando” Criminals: This is how we refer to criminals that have certain “professional” backgrounds. Usually they are ex-cops (or even active duty cops) or ex-military. They are well armed, well organized, know how to use modern communications and they do intelligence work before a “mission.” These are dangerous people and have the skills to do serious bank robberies, kidnap rich people in spite of their security guards, or assault guarded gated neighborhoods.
    • Expect Even More Corruption: One thing we know about in Argentina is corruption. It’s everywhere and it has kind of become almost a national sport. What we learned is that you can’t expect honest government employees, when the leaders themselves are making very questionable decisions. This grows like a cancer in a democracy and eventually it’s impossible to eradicate it.
Regarding how governments act when the SHTF, this book is arriving a bit to late in some regards for Americans. Some of the things I talk about are already happening and will have serious impact in the immediate future. There will be consequences that will last for years, maybe even decades.

These excerpts have been generously shared with our readers by Fernando Ferfal Aguirre and were originally published in his highly rated book The Modern Survival Manual: Surviving The Economic Collapse.

America's farmlands to be carpet-bombed with Vietnam-era Agent Orange chemical if Dow petition approved

    Tuesday, December 27, 2011
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger
    Editor of NaturalNews.com http://www.naturalnews.com/index-HRarticles.html

NaturalNews) A key chemical of one of the most horrifying elements of the Vietnam War -- Agent Orange -- may soon be unleashed on America's farmlands. Considered by world nations to be a "Weapon of Mass Destruction" (WMD), Agent Orange was dropped in the millions of gallons on civilian populations during the Vietnam War in order to destroy foliage and poison North Vietnamese soldiers. The former president of the Vietnamese Red Cross, Professor Nhan, described it as, "...a massive violation of human rights of the civilian population, and a weapon of mass destruction."

A key chemical in that weapon -- 2,4-D -- is just months away from being dropped on agricultural land across the United States. Dow AgroSciences, which along with DuPont and Monsanto is heavily invested in genetically engineered crops, has petitioned the U.S. government to deregulate a variety of GE corn that's resistant to 2,4-D, which comprises 50% of the recipe of Agent Orange.

NaturalNews broke this story yesterday and published the details: http://www.naturalnews.com/034492_Do...ion_2-4-D.html

If the petition is approved by Washington, it would turn America's corn fields into chemical warfare zones targeted for mass pesticide poisoning with 2,4-D chemicals. The corn, of course, would be immune to 2,4-D, so it would uptake the chemical and transport it right into the structure of the corn kernels, creating "Agent Orange corn bombs" that would be chemically unleashed when consumed by human beings.

This is just the latest example of how industrial chemical giants and GMO companies of the world are committing acts of genocide against innocents. The introduction of 2,4-D-resistant GE corn is, essentially, an act of war against humanity.

Food crops sprayed with chemical weapons

Agent Orange, which contains roughly 50% 2,4-D, is also cited in numerous war crimes lawsuits. Even the BBC has reported on it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/3798581.stm

The use of such chemicals on civilian targets is a violation of the 1907 Hague Convention, the 1927 Geneva Convention, and the 1949 Geneva Convention http://www.iadllaw.org/en/node/353

The International Tribunal of Conscience in Support of the Vietnamese Victims of Agent Orange has published a document briefly describing the war crimes committed by the U.S. government in its use of Agent Orange: http://www.iadllaw.org/files/charges...0US%20govt.doc

    That document states:

The chemical warfare waged by the United States against Vietnam though the use of Agent Orange and other dioxin laced chemicals from 1961 to 1971 has caused severe, massive and prolonged consequences for the environment, ecology and health of the people of Vietnam.

See the photos of Agent Orange victimsShocking pictures of Agent Orange victims can be seen at the following pages (WARNING, extremely graphic):

    First Vietnam, now America

Even walking around America today, many Americans are born as mutants thanks to the chemicals used in foods, medicines, lawn care and personal care products. That crime against humanity is about to be made far, far worse with the unleashing of 2,4-D on America's farmlands.

The gross deformities, birth defects, neurological disorders and physical retardation we have seen in Vietnamese children affected by Agent Orange could soon arrive at America's doorstep thanks to 2,4-D.

Dow, of course, is widely regarded as one of the most evil corporations on the planet, having already poisoned countless victims with toxic chemicals. Remember the Bhopal pesticide factory explosion in India? That was Union Carbide, owned by Dow. It killed thousands of people, maimed tens of thousands and injured over half a million http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhopal_disaster

And learn more about Dow here:
    http://www.thetruthaboutdow.org/
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dow_Chemical_Company

Remember: If chemical weapons are used to produce food, then those who consume such foods become casualties of war.

Food production was once an honorable art, but at the hands of greed-driven globalists, it quickly became a system of profit seeking and then a tool for corporate domination over the People. Now it has become a weapon of mass destruction, and it is being used to decimate the health of both the population and the farmlands.

More Powerful Version Of Heavily Abused Opiate To Hit Market

December 28, 2011 by Sam Rolley

A new pharmaceutical will contain up to 10 times the amount of the highly addictive painkiller hydrocodone as existing medications.

Drug makers are in the process of developing a more powerful version of the second most highly abused drug in the Nation.

The new pharmaceutical will contain up to 10 times the amount of the highly addictive painkiller hydrocodone as existing medications such as Vicodin. Four companies have begun patient testing, and one of them — Zogenix — has plans to apply early next year to begin marketing the drug, Zohydro, according to The Associated Press.

Many addiction experts are worried that the release of new pills will spark another narcotic epidemic in the United States similar to that following the release of OxyContin, which became known as “hillbilly heroin.”
“I have a big concern that this could be the next OxyContin,” said April Rovero, president of the National Coalition Against Prescription Drug Abuse. “We just don’t need this on the market.”

OxyContin was designed to deliver measured time-release doses, but addicts quickly learned that by crushing the tablets they could achieve an instant, powerful high. OxyContin is the most-abused medicine in the Nation, and hydrocodone is second, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration’s annual count of drug seizures sent to police drug labs for analysis.
Prescription drug makers earn a combined $10 billion a year legally pushing powerful opiate narcotics

    Confusion

December 28, 2011 by Bob Livingston

Confusion is achieved when propaganda injects two opposing thoughts at the same time.

How our minds are conditioned and controlled: If a person believes a “fact” long enough, he or she cannot ponder or contemplate information or a question that challenges the fact. The mind simply cannot process information that conflicts with previously accepted data. Prior conditioning is difficult to challenge.

The same is true if we believe a lie long enough. We cannot ponder or contemplate information that challenges the lie, even if the lie is lethal, such as “fluoride prevents cavities.”

Psychologists call this quirk of human nature cognitive dissonance. It means the rejection of information not in harmony with previous beliefs. I have written about this before. Even when pointed out to people, they refuse to see it. Note the comments below the linked article.

Confusion is achieved when propaganda injects two opposing thoughts at the same time. The elites use it to great advantage.

Vitamin D Radically Reduces Death Risks

Ignore This Deficiency... And Become 3 Times More Likely to Die?

Posted By Dr. Mercola |7,292 views

    Story at-a-glance
    • Correcting a vitamin D deficiency may cut your risk of dying by more than half, according to an analysis of more than 10,000 patients.
    • People with low levels of vitamin D were found to be more likely to have diabetes, high blood pressure, and diseased heart muscle -- and were three times more likely to die from any cause compared to those with normal levels.
    • The optimal vitamin D level has been raised to 50-70 ng/ml, and when treating cancer or heart disease, as high as 70-100 ng/ml. Ask your physician for a 25(OH)D blood test to find out your level.
    • Vitamin D from sun exposure or a safe tanning bed is the BEST way to optimize your vitamin D levels, but as a last resort, a vitamin D3 supplement can be taken orally (research published by Grassroots Health from the D*Action study shows the average adult needs to take 8,000 IU's of vitamin D per day in order to elevate their levels to the absolute minimum necessary for disease prevention).
    By Dr. Mercola

This is a really important study as it is one of the first large trials that examined the relationship of vitamin D supplementation on that of overall death rate.
Previous studies have correlated vitamin D levels but most of that was related to vitamin D levels raised naturally through sun exposure.

Numerous studies and meta-analyses have suggested that vitamin D deficiency has a negative association with survival; however, the effect of vitamin D supplementation on overall mortality has not been studied.

This is a crucially important study of over 10,000 people over a five-year period whose average age was that of most that read this newsletter (5.
This study proves very clearly that oral vitamin D works to radically decrease your risk of dying.
Are You Going to Take Advantage of this Landmark Study?
I have a simple question to ask you, the answer to which is essential for optimizing your health and even reducing your risk of premature death by 50 percent:
What are your vitamin D levels?
If you cannot answer this question, you may be speeding down the health equivalent of the Autobahn with no seatbelt, and it’s only a matter of time before it catches up to you.

With a simple blood test, and similarly simple strategies to make sure your levels reach the optimal range, you can put on your figurative seatbelt -- and drastically improve your overall health.
Addressing Your Vitamin D Deficiency May Cut Your Risk of Dying in Half
Taking vitamin D supplements in order to overcome a deficiency in the vitamin could cut your risk of dying by more than half, so found a recent analysis of more than 10,000 patients. Not only was vitamin D deficiency associated with several cardiovascular-related diseases, including hypertension, coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy, and diabetes, but it was also a strong independent predictor of all-cause death.

Researchers found that patients with low levels of vitamin D were more likely to have diabetes, high blood pressure, and diseased heart muscle -- and were three times more likely to die from any cause compared to those with normal levels.

Now it’s important to realize that more than 70 percent of the study participants were deficient in vitamin D, and this was based on a “normal” vitamin D level of ≥30 ng/ml.

However, the latest research suggests that any level below 50 ng/ml is actually a deficiency state, which means the number of vitamin-d deficient participants was actually much higher, most likely well over 90-95% of the patients. But it is quite extraordinary to see their improvement even at the lower levels they reported.

Because your body is designed to produce vitamin D from regular exposure of your skin to the sun, unless you live in a warm, sunny climate where you frequently spend time outdoors with large portions of your skin exposed, there’s a very high chance you, too, are deficient.

Again, in the study those who corrected their deficiencies saw their risk of death drop by more than half … which should give you an idea of just how crucial this vitamin is for your overall health.

    As researchers noted:

“In conclusion, vitamin D deficiency was associated with a significant risk of cardiovascular disease and reduced survival. Vitamin D supplementation was significantly associated with better survival, specifically in patients with documented deficiency.”
