Ron Paul Endorsed by Vermont State Rep. Tom Burditt

“Ron Paul’s plan is to allow the individual to find his or her own success, for the individual is the most valuable commodity this nation has.”

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul received today the endorsement of Vermont state Rep. Tom Burditt. Rep. Burditt is a freshman in the Vermont House and an active Tea Party member. He represents the towns of West Rutland, Clarendon, Ira and Proctor.

In endorsing the 12-term Congressman from Texas, Rep. Burditt offered the following statement:“Ron Paul is a defender of freedom.“We are in a time when the government is crossing the line from regulation to oppression, and Ron Paul is the sole voice that reminds us what the founders meant when they spoke of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

“Ron Paul desires for this nation the freedom to act, the freedom to succeed, and the freedom to fail, without an over-intrusive government there to impede us, or offer us so-called help.

“Ron Paul’s plan is not to have a government that exists to coddle us and support us, or to invest in markets and industries it deems noble for the time being.

“Ron Paul’s plan is to allow the individual to find his or her own success, for the individual is the most valuable commodity this nation has.

“For this, and more, I endorse Ron Paul for the Presidency of the United States.”

Rep. Burditt is a resident of West Rutland, an independent-thinking Republican, and a small business owner whose family’s ancestral ties to the Green Mountain State have unfortunately been diluted. His past affiliations include serving as a board member of the Rutland County Pro-Business Coalition, a select board member of the Town of West Rutland, and varsity wrestling coach at Rutland High School from 1997-2001.

A political novice although engaged in business and civic activities, he ran on a platform of helping his fellow Vermonters face the challenge of hardworking Vermont families leaving the state in search of opportunity. His other main issues include job retention, curtailing the state’s high tax burden on individuals, improving educational outcomes, and establishing in the state a friendlier business jurisdiction vis a vis the region.

A key driver of Rep. Burditt’s entrance into the political arena was when his children moved to Seattle, Washington because of the dearth of opportunity in Vermont. His descendants came to America in 1653 and to Vermont in 1796. He is the youngest of eight siblings and the last man standing in Vermont as his siblings move to different parts of the country seeking opportunity.

Rep. Burditt is a proud lifelong resident of the state and a graduate of Rutland Senior High School. He describes himself an “extremely proud” father of two children and three grandchildren.

Submitted by ConstitutionFirst on Tue, 02/28/2012 - 21:30 Ron Paul 2012

Ron Paul killed it. Wolf asked what his strategy would be in Virginia, and he said it is going to be the same as it is in any state, sound money, personal freedom, etc etc. Loved it!

In Case You Missed It: Chicago-area National Taxpayer Group Endorses Ron Paul

“The other Republican candidates have no real ambition to cut spending or taxes.” – Jim Tobin

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul was endorsed yesterday by Tax Accountability of TAC, a Chicago-based national taxpayer watchdog organization. Tax Accountability is the political action arm of Taxpayers United of America (TUA). Founded in 1976, TUA is one of the largest taxpayer organizations in the nation.

The group’s president Jim Tobin wrote a ringing endorsement of the 12-term Congressman from Texas, who is the only candidate forthright about the constitutional and philosophical antipathy toward using the police powers of government to take the fruits of one person’s labor and distribute it to another as a condition of citizenship.

CHICAGO—Tax Accountability (TAC) president Jim Tobin announced today that the organization is formally endorsing U.S. House Representative Ron Paul (R-TX, Dist. 14) for President of the United States.

“There simply is no comparison between Ron Paul and the other Republican candidates,” said Tobin. “Dr. Paul consistently has had the highest rating in Congress from the non-partisan National Taxpayers Union (NTU) in Washington, DC. He is the only true fiscal conservative. The other Republican candidates believe in big government, big spending, big crony-capitalism, and big wars.”

“All the other Republican candidates are neoconservative warmongers. Paul would bring all our troops home, cut needless defense spending, and stop the country’s march toward fascism. He would have our military protect this country, not intervene in the affairs of others.”

“Ron Paul is sincere when he states he will literally cut federal spending by $1 trillion. The other Republican candidates have no real ambition to cut spending or taxes. They are enthusiastic supporters of what Pres. Eisenhower called the ‘military-industrial complex.’ The other candidates support U.S. foreign military adventures, and if any of them is elected, we will have at least one war occurring at any one time.”

NJToday.net: New Jersey’s Oldest Weekly Newspaper Endorses Congressman Ron Paul’s Quest for the Republican Party Nomination

Endorsement: Ron Paul Deserves GOP Nod For President

    Wednesday, February 29, 2012

    Presidential candidate Ron Paul

Congressman Ron Paul deserves the Republican Party nomination for president because he would prove to be the most dramatic contrast with Barack Obama and right now the nation would benefit by a clear distinction between the philosophy offered by Democrats and that of the GOP.

Ron Paul advocates peace and prosperity through a genuine philosophy of smaller government and lower taxes, with a strong defense for America instead of an imperial military occupation of the entire world. He is the real Republican, blending the best ideas of Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater with those of Dwight Eisenhower and Nelson Rockefeller, but with the most contemporary foundation for the 21st Century.

Receiving more than 11 times as many campaign contributions from soldiers, sailors and marines as his leading Republican rival, Mitt Romney, Ron Paul is the choice of veterans and active duty military personnel.

All of the other GOP presidential aspirants are washed up politicians: Mitt Romney hasn’t been governor of Massachusetts for five years, Rick Santorum lost his Senate seat in 2006 and Newt Gingrich left Congress in disgrace in 1999. Ron Paul, a medical doctor and Texas congressman who was first elected in 1976, is the most honest of the Republican field.

His appeal is reasoned and responsible, not emotional like self-righteous Santorum, fake like Romney, conniving like Gingrich, stupid like Sarah Palin or bombastic like New Jersey’s own Governor Chris Christie. There are fatal flaws in each of the other Republican hopefuls:

Rick Santorum says he objects to the separation of church and state, and that makes him a threat to religious liberty and other fundamentals of this republican democracy.

Mitt Romney is a liar. His recent factual misrepresentations on American military strength pale in comparison to his chameleon-like flip-flopping on issues and pandering.

Newt Gingrich is personally to blame for much of the disintegration of civility in politics and he is immoral in more ways than we care to list.

His opposition to freedom of choice on abortion, as one example, shows that Ron Paul has not strictly abided by the libertarian code with which he is associated, his positions have been consistent for many decades. Whether you agree or disagree with him on issues — and his proposals are among the most revolutionary since Ronald Reagan gave us supply side economics — Ron Paul is a man of character and conviction with a solid vision for America that is based on a legitimate interpretation of the Constitution.
