Ron Paul to Evangelical Ministers: I'm in!

    Evangelicals turn to Ron Paul

In the wake of Senator Rick Santorum’s departure from the presidential race there are signs that some evangelical leaders are refusing to jump on board the Mitt Romney bandwagon and are turning to Congressman Ron Paul instead. The Texas congressman spoke to several thousand people last night at the Will Rogers Auditorium in downtown Fort Worth but met quietly afterward with evangelical leaders.

Why Ron Paul? And why now, when the race is being declared “done” by the main stream media?

“Because you don’t give away your support without getting something in return,” says a former congressman who has been at the heart of the Christian right movement since its beginning. The longer that Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich stay in the race, the more likely that Romney will be forced to take a evangelical conservative as his vice presidential nominee.

Why not turn to Speaker Newt Gingrich, a Catholic who is a former Southern Baptist, with views that resonate with evangelicals?

“If we had to do it over again, we should have gone with Gingrich,” one of Santorum’s supporters told me today. But if we switch to Gingrich now we risk another drop out.” The former Speaker reportedly has debts of $ 4.2 million and has asked the Romney campaign for help in retiring them. Romney reportedly declined.

Meanwhile, the Ron Paul campaign, with cash on hand, has begun airing television ads in Texas and launches another moneybomb this weekend.
“I have one question for you,” one of the ministers reportedly said in the private meeting last night with Dr. Ron Paul, “Are you going to drop out? Or will you stay in all the way to Tampa?”

    “I’m in,” the Texan replied.

“That’s all I need to know,” the minister said.

The evangelical community began reaching out to Dr. Paul almost immediately after Senator Rick Santorum dropped out of the presidential race. Yesterday, Pastor Steven Andrew of USA Christian Ministries announced his support of the congressman, calling for a day of prayer and fasting. Andrew released a statement saying that, “After Santorum, Ron Paul is the most God-fearing Presidential candidate [and] the Republican party should endorse him.” Andrew said that “If Republicans don’t give a Christian candidate, Christians should look elsewhere – even to a third party.”

The Christian Wire service ran an article yesterday saying that Christians like the fact that Ron Paul “opposes tyranny, would cut the deficit and is prolife.”
A prominent television evangelist , speaking on the promise of anonymity, says that there was great disappointment in Rick Santorum’s withdrawal from the race. “No one faults a man for being a good father, and dropping out to take care of a child, but it hurts many of us very deeply. We were counting on him to lead our cause.”

Foster Freiss, the Wyoming billionaire who financed the Santorum Super Pac, has publicly said he will now help Mitt Romney.

Meanwhile, evangelical leaders are skeptical of any of their brethren who are now pledging to Romney. “They are trotting out the same old bought and paid for names, Richard Land and Jay Sekulow, and acting like they are new.” A Gingrich supporter who is quite vocal about his disappointment with the Santorum campaign suspects that evangelical leaders who supported Santorum, did so in return for donations to their nonprofit organizations. “They will now try to repeat the same thing with Romney and are already in the news laying the foundation for their appeal. It is appalling.”

But the rank and file evangelicals are not for sale and many seeking an end to the corruption in Washington see Ron Paul, a born again Christian, as their best voice of protest and the best way to force Romney to deal with them.

Steve Scheffler, president of the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition and a GOP national committeeman, is dumbfounded that the Romney’s campaign had so far made no effort to reach out to evangelicals.

“The presidential race is likely to be truly competitive,” Mr. Scheffler said, “in about a dozen states, including Iowa, and the Republicans will need to motivate people to volunteer at calling centers and put up signs. I don’t think there’s much room for error.”

Meanwhile, the Ron Paul people continue to fill the vacuum. In Iowa they are helping Scheffler and other Santorum people get re-elected to their positions. They can afford to be generous, they have everything else.

Says Brian Jacobs, a former consultant to Billy Graham and to evangelical leaders such as Kenneth Copeland, “Ron Paul is a born again Christian who is untainted by this corruption that has engulfed Washington. It should be no big surprise that evangelicals are discovering him.”

Ron Paul speaks to 3,000 at Will Rogers Auditorium, Ft. Worth, Texas, 4/11/12.

    AIMEE ALLEN RON PAUL ANTHEM

"Ron Paul Anthem" is a politically themed rock song about presidential candidate Ron Paul by singer-songwriter Aimee Allen from Los Angeles, California.

A popular rock single in support of the Republican candidate, "Ron Paul Anthem" encourages the starting of a revolution in honor of the U.S. Constitution.

Judging by the sheer number of emails demanding that Aimee Allen's rock anthem be featured on Californiality, there are either a lot of punk rockers coming out of the closet, or there are an awful lot of Ron Paul supporters.

Regardless, "Ron Paul Anthem" is a hit. There are many Ron Paul tribute songs on YouTube, but Aimee Allen's rebellious rocker is the biggest Ron Paul song of 2012 by far.

While it has been known for years that this blog does not endorse campaigns nor candidates, it can be said that "Ron Paul Anthem" is a catchy song that totally rocks. (VIDEO BELOW)

The music and lyrics together capture the angst of millions of frustrated voters in 2012, and singer Aimee Allen delivers the song with passionate authenticity.

"Ron Paul Anthem" by Aimee Allen musically communicates just about everything a Ron Paul presidential campaign supporter feels, and with enough of an edge to keep it real.

Hi, I am from Denmark, but have been following the race since day one. I can inform you guys that allthough Romney is all over the news over here, I haven't seen Ron Paul once, on any TV station or newspaper.

I don't think it's because the Danish state is corrupt, or the media - but it might be because our 'non-investigative' journalists only use stories they get from USA.

I admire you guys so much, and Ron Paul is my icon - one of the best men around - no doubt.

This isn't just about America, even though it's mainly your problem - this is about the whole world. If Ron Paul becomes president, everyone will talk about him and he WILL inspire politicians all over the world - and I tell you, we need politicians fighting for liberty here in Denmark too as GMO and higher level security of both people and the internet, is standing at our door.

Help yourself guys, but at the same time - help the rest of the world - INSPIRE US, as you are already doing.

Best of luck, and much LOVE, from Denmark

I made you this video to keep the spirit high - never give up on your liberty

    GO RON PAUL

Alleged Nominee Romney Draws Small Sleepy Crowd April 30th

    Ron Paul 2012

FLORENCE, South Carolina—Mitt Romney drew a lackluster crowd at a morning rally here, unable to fill even the smaller space his advance staff had blocked off for the event.

Standing on a low stage at the center of the small crowd, Romney gave his standard stump speech, drawing just a smattering of applause on the usual lines.

Only 100 supporters attended the event, billed as a “Grassroots Rally and Discusses Jobs and the Economy with Supporters” by the campaign. Staffers removed the tall ladder at the side of the room to prevent photographers from capturing the vast empty space between the press file and the crowd.

Here's a 360 degree photo you can pan using your mouse. Note the guy far right holding his head and heart. Probably the campaign manager.

Why was Paul allowed back into the Republican Party?

Submitted by obscure titles on Mon, 04/30/2012 - 17:53
    Daily Paul Liberty Forum

Once upon a time there was a liberal Democrat that switched parties to become a Republican and had very extreme libertarian views. He ran for president. 4 years earlier his goal was to "take over" CPAC and use that as his spring board to the nomination. Republican's attacked him and accused him of hijacking the party. They claimed that he was a Republican in name only. This candidate ignored his critics and continued to run on an extremely progressive/libertarian platform. He had a very strong ground game. He had his people appointed and elected all across the country in local Republican leadership positions. Ultimately he was successful. He won the nomination and the presidency and is still, to this day, the most popular past president that was ever elected. He successfully "took over" the party from the status quos. But this story does not have a happy ending. The establishment did not quit. They forced this great leader to fight battles from both flanks. The establishment was relentless and they made this president fight against his partisan opponents and against his establishment colleagues within the Republican Party. Ultimately he surrendered to the establishment and in return the establishment agreed to back his re-election to a second term. His second term is marred in scandal and he was very unpopular as a lame duck.

That is a very brief description of Ronald Reagan’s presidency.

Ron Paul was a Republican congressman at the time and supported this man during his 1980 successful campaign and this man returned the favor by endorsing Paul in his re-election effort. When the establishment forced this man to compromise on some very key planks in his successful campaign (for example; abolishing the department of education) Ron Paul was fed up and decided to leave his party and politics in general. He left office after his term expired. After a period of reflection Paul decided that he could accomplish more within the system as opposed to throwing stones from the gallery but he was told that he would not be invited back into the Republican Party. So Paul found a party that would accept him and his ideals and continued to try and drain the swamp using a spoon. When the Republican party found themselves out of power and desperately flailing for traction they finally relinquished and allowed Paul back in the party upon his request, but they refused to endorse him and continued to put establishment candidates against him in the primaries.

In 1996, the Republican revolution was over. The House Republicans lost massive seats in this election cycle, the cycle just after the '94 Revolution. The Senate was basically 50/50 and Clinton was on his way to re-election. They were scared stiff that Clinton would have the House and the Senate. They were begging for good candidates to stop the bleeding. They see a train wreck a'comin.

There has been some redistricting, but the heart of the Galveston district has been Democratic since the 1930's with the sole exception of Paul in the 70's and 80's. The district was currently held by Greg Laughlin who was a Democrat in 1995 then he switched parties to be a Republican after he achieved incumbent status. (There is irony in that. I hope you don't miss it.)

This seat was a Democrat seat (except for Paul) and Laughlin's switch made him vulnerable. His seat was in danger. Newt, GWB, K.B. Hutchison, and Barbour made a strategic decision. They would allow Paul back in the party and run against Laughlin in the primary, but at the same time back Laughlin. They were covering all their bases to maximize the potential for victory. They needed to keep that seat.

Paul got the vetting of his life during that campaign. Karl Rove was Governor GWB’s right hand man down in Texas. Rove, like the late great Lee Atwater (a personal friend of Rove), had perfected the “whisper campaign” strategy. Ironically, Rove also perfected the delegate strategy (the one Paul is currently pursuing) during his campaign for the national chair of the college Republicans (I am sure you remember that one. If it wasn't for Watergate, Rove may have been setting up shop from behind bars). Karl Rove was THE political operative in Texas and really for that entire region of the country. Barbour had him entrenched in Alabama as well. The decision to allow Paul to run in the Primary turned out to be a mistake. Laughlin was not only susceptible to “pay back” from his former Democratic colleagues, but he was losing to Paul in early private polling during the primary so Laughlin reached out to GWB and requested that Bush sic his dogs on Paul. Privately, the Rove led “whisper campaign” strategy was to link Paul to white supremist groups, nut job militias, and underground separatist groups that wanted to secede from the union. Publicly, Laughlin’s strategy was to label Paul a RINO because of his Libertarian campaign for president in 1988. (Newt actually came down to Texas and campaigned for Laughlin in the primary against Paul.) Both strategies failed. The constituents knew Paul personally and ignored the “whispers”. Additionally, Laughlin’s “pot calling the kettle black” backfired tremendously given the fact that in the last election cycle Laughlin had won his seat as a Democrat. In the end, the Party got what it wanted. They were able to hold onto the seat, but it didn’t turn out the way they had intended. Paul had beaten Laughlin in the primary and went on to win the general. Paul re-earned his Republican stripes the hard way.

And now you know the rest of the story.

    God Bless.

Ralph Nader - The Ghost of Osama bin Laden quotes Ron Paul to Obama

The Ghost of Osama bin Laden

    Posted April 30, 2012

    By Ralph Nader

(The imagined conversation between the Ghost of Osama bin Laden and President Barack Obama)

The Ghost of Osama bin Laden swirled into the Oval Office where Barack Obama was spending the evening going over a pile of requested sign-offs for drone missions.

Osama’s Ghost: “Mind if we have a conversation one year after you dispatched my body to the ocean sharks?”

With curiosity reigning supreme, President Obama replied, “Ok, so long as you remain hovering and do not alight to defile this solemn room.”

Osama’s Ghost: “Thank you. After your SEALs bravely shot, rather than captured, me while I was defenseless in my bedroom, you told your nation that ‘for the first time in two decades, Osama bin Laden is not a threat to this country.’”

“Correct, the form of your presence now attests to that fact,” the President curtly declared.

Osama’s Ghost: “You completely misunderstood. You see my work was completed by the evening of September 11, 2001. After that, the terror that I wanted to implant in American hearts was continued and intensified by George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and you far, far beyond what our little, exaggerated al-Qaeda could ever dream of doing.”

“How so? Make it short!” Obama demanded.

Osama’s Ghost: “Okay, you want it short? You and your predecessors are ones who, for over a decade, starved your domestic needs in favor of huge military adventures in Asia and Africa, took away the freedoms of your people and replaced them with fear and anxiety over the wildly overblown but very profitable war on terror. You destroyed the esteem of the world’s people by reacting to 9/11 with aggressive attacks, torture, indefinite imprisonment without charges, secret laws, secret evidence, secret prisons and routine violations of national borders. You backed tyrants in these countries who slay and loot their own people with U.S. weapons, predatory corporations and political cover. You spy everywhere on the American people and watch your own soldiers commit suicide in record numbers. Do you know why these American soldiers are killing themselves, Mr. President?”

“You tell me, Dr. Freud,” said President Obama.

Osama’s Ghost: “Because when you send them to Iraq and Afghanistan for wars not of defense but of aggression, and they end up killing so many innocent women, children and men, their consciences are traumatized. Your generals like to say their brains are physically traumatized. By what? Your adversaries have no artillery, bombers and missiles to do that job. It is the trauma of their conscience when they see the burned, broken and dismembered bodies of little children and their mothers and fathers in their homes, mosques, or markets. People were blown up while just gathering together to collect wood or participate in wedding processions. In addition, they see the daily suffering of millions who are maimed and homeless.”

“You should talk, after the massacre of my people on 9/11,” exclaimed President Obama.

Osama’s Ghost: “But at least the attackers went ‘down with the ship’, as you Americans say, and this attack was designed to make you suffer like you have made us suffer a millionfold over the decades. As a scholar and a son of Africa, you should understand what life is like under American-supported tyrants.

Imagine American military bases – even in our holy lands – and the brutal suppression of any resistance to overturn these puppet dictators and expel their infidel masters from the West. If you were not in our backyard, including the Palestinian nakba,or catastrophe, which the U.S. made happen, our martyrs would never have gone to New York and Washington on 9/11.”

“Do not lump me in the same room with Bush and Cheney,” said an irritated Obama. “They lied this great nation into the invasion of Iraq and played right into your hands, as Bush’s own anti-terrorism advisor, Richard Clarke wrote. I opposed this war but vowed to clear al-Qaeda out of Afghanistan by shifting our soldiers from Iraq. You know what happened to you all after that, don’t you, Ghost?”

Osama’s Ghost: “Yes, Mr. President. Al-Qaeda is not much in Afghanistan, having decided to migrate its activities to Pakistan and encourage our brothers in Yemen, Somalia and North Africa. They are moving into Syria from al-Qaeda in Iraq where it first surfaced thanks to your invasion. The word used by the CIA is ‘blowback.’ But no one is furthering our basic mission of weakening the U.S. more than the rulers of the country are themselves. Look at your rich-poor economy; Wall Street’s destructive greed; crumbling schools, roads, transit, clinics, drinking water facilities; and starved public budgets for the most basic necessities of your people – food for the hungry, healing for the sick, shelter for the homeless.”

Osama’s Ghost: “Even your people overwhelmingly say that America is going in the wrong direction and they want out of Afghanistan. What is a democracy for anyway, Mr. President? Again, you’re doing al-Qaeda’s job – weakening your country to bankruptcy until it can no longer continue ‘messing in our business’ as the Presidential candidate, Ron Paul, says daily. You see, at my compound in Abbottabad, reading occupied me. There was nothing left to do because you Americans cannot resist doing it to yourselves year after year. Given my lack of precautions, I didn’t care if I was executed because my mission was fulfilled. Near the end, grieving over Muslims killing Muslims, I became a fatalistic mystic.”

“Are you finished, Ghost? I have to decide on some high value targets in three countries. The hunt will never cease,” said President Obama.

Osama’s Ghost: “But, Mr. President, you had the highest value target of all and you eliminated the chance to interrogate me. Think what I could have told you about the past 30 years for your intelligence services.”

“Tell me what, in a phrase. Your time is up!” declared President Obama.

Osama’s Ghost: “Well…thank you, thank you for all that you, Mr. Bush, and Mr. Cheney have done, Mr. President.”

Whereupon the Ghost evaporated into the ether and the president started signing.
