Freedom won a little elbow room today as the part of the NDAA which gave the government authorization to arrest and detain in an undisclosed location, anyone that supports terrorism, terrorist groups, or voices out against the government.
According to the judge, the wording was too vague to understand precisely what that part of the Act meant.

This is a victory for the Constitution, especially the 1st and 4th Amendments!!! We are changing the system, in baby steps, but it is happening!!

I got right through to the governor's office in Oklahoma and spoke with someone who was courteous enough. I tried to let the Oklahoma governor know how much patriots who love their country and Constitution do not take kindly to the perilous times we and our families find ourselves in, being taken lightly. If the governor doesn't understand what is really going on in the country, at the very least the cause of liberty shouldn't be addressed mockingly.

What I failed to do was to ask why the governor made such a statement. If anyone with a peaceable spirit does better please share what you find out.

Is it naive to wonder how it is that so many politicians who have taken an oath to uphold the Constitution don't seem to get or care about how popular freedom really is? "Yes there is pain.

The establishment turned off the air conditioning at the Arizona State GOP Convention last weekend, trying to sweat the Ronulans into leaving.
.
In Oklahoma they pulled out a ballroom divider to cordon off Ron Paul supporters and shut them out of participation. Later they turned out the lights. Voice votes that were clearly lost were declared won.
.
In Carson County, Nevada they turned off a microphone when a Hispanic tried to speak, they knew that Hispanics were for Ron Paul.
.
In Minnesota they told their people not to vote for any delegate under the age of fifty.
.
In Alaska, they defeated the majority by retaining the committee which “interpreted rules” and later, after taking the delegation, reluctantly gave up the party control to the new majority but transferred all of the money out of the Republican Party accounts.
.
In Virginia, at a District Convention, they coaxed the Ron Paul delegation outside and then locked the door. The pastor of the church that was hosting the event was, himself, locked outside.
.
In Missouri they had all the delegates sign up at County Conventions and then had their County Chairman take the rolls outside and lock them in their car trunks so they could block roll call voting and have their chairman declare lost voice votes as won. At another convention delegates were arrested.
.
Our people have been punched, yelled at, lied to and worked until they can hardly stand. But on they come, fighting for their children, fighting for their future, angry at the corruption of the banks, of Wall Street, of the lobbyists, of the congress, of the White House. The battle for liberty is not over. It has just taken on a new phase. It cannot be stopped by the national media. If that were the case it would never have been born in the first place.

And some will say that it is a lost cause, which I will not concede but it does remind me of Clarence Darrow’s famous line, “Lost causes are the only ones worth fighting for.”

The Ron Paul for President Campaign released the following statement:

2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul would tie the sitting president 42 to 42 percent if the general election were held today, according to a recent survey from Rasmussen Reports as reported by Real Clear Politics.

“President Obama receives support from the liberal establishment including full reputational umbrella coverage from many in the media and he is aided by hundred million dollar advertising budgets.

This poll tying Ron Paul with Obama is nothing short of a biting embarrassment to the president,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

“Ron Paul continues to match or outperform the sitting president due in part to his ‘Plan to Restore America,’ winning on principle as opposed to unfulfilled promises and overflowing campaign coffers.

In short, the electability of the president should be held in question as voters shift attention from rhetoric and status quo solutions to authenticity, substance, and real change.” added Mr. Benton.

This poll marks the third time this year Paul has either tied or bested Obama in a Rasmussen matchup poll. The data are derived from the responses of 1,000 likely voters surveyed from May 6^th-7^th.

Regarding unbound candidates to the national convention:

"You all have probably seen the response to my response by the blogger who is attempting to explain the unbound delegate situation and why state rules would still apply. He has emailed me directly and there are two points he wants to make. I believe these are vaild points and I am posting my entire reply here."

"Thanks for reaching out. I think you make some very strong points including the issue of how this would affect those who have won state leadership positions. They may not want to compromise the effectiveness of reshaping the party in the long-term for a short term vote that may not translate into a nomination.

Keep in mind, those issues would have to be strategized by the campaign and their delegates as they get closer to the National Convention based upon how many delegates Congressman Paul will have and whether they can be effective in taking the nomination.

My role is not to strategize for any campaign, rather to shed light on the system. What is done with that information is not for me to decide. I am going to post my response to you as well as the two main facts that you feel still need to be expressed.

From your first point, it is clear that I am correct on the issue of delegates not being bound.

' # 1 : While the RNC does not recognize binding in any way of delegates at the RNC convention the States do recognize their rules and there could be consequences should a delegate go against party rules at the RNC convention.

# 2 : It is important that all delegates read their district/county AND state bylaws pertaining to the potential penalty that could be ensued if any should they break party rules.

In some cases there is no penalty, in other cases the penalty could be fines of monetary consequence and worse being stripped of their delegate status for life. Now some will choose to accept the consequences while others may not be so willing or perhaps not be aware there is a consequence.'

The conversations over the binding of delegates and the role delegates will play in the Republican National Convention in Tampa are very important. I hope that we can continue to have a respectful and open discussion"
