Greece Warns of Going Broke as Tax Proceeds Dry Up

    By LIZ ALDERMAN
    Published: June 5, 2012

As European leaders grapple with how to preserve their monetary union, Greece is rapidly running out of money.

Government coffers could be empty as soon as July, shortly after this month’s pivotal elections. In the worst case, Athens might have to temporarily stop paying for salaries and pensions, along with imports of fuel, food and pharmaceuticals.

Officials, scrambling for solutions, have considered dipping into funds that are supposed to be for Greece’s troubled banks. Some are even suggesting doling out i.o.u.’s.

Cautionary tales from Louisiana? | DailyHerald.com Blogs

With the Illinois GOP convention taking place in Tinley Park Friday and Saturday, state party officials are on "alert" for shenanigans by presidential candidate Ron Paul's campaign.

From an e-mail sent to Republican National Committee members this week from National Committeewoman Ruth Ulrich:
    "Dear RNC Member,

I know by now that you have probably heard about the state convention in Louisiana. I've never seen anything quite like it.

I am attaching a link to an article that was good at explaining the highlights and another blog below that the really covers what was going on behind the RP antics. These antics were pre planned, practiced and intent on making a circus out of the convention. If your state is about to have a convention, please learn from our convention and be prepared! They will do anything, as we learned.

    1. RP will try and "outlast" your other delegates by stalling, arguing, etc. anything to keep it going on until other delegates get angry or tired and leave. If they can keep you in session past the time on the contract with the facility, then they will cost you money as well.

    2. They will try and replace your committee chairs and convention chair. If they can get the chair to "ignore" their shouted motions, then they believe they have the right to vote the chair out. If there are 20 shouting motions and point of inquiry, it will be easy for them to "justify" being "ignored" 3 times.

    3. They will sneak people who aren't delegates onto the floor with the delegates and then those will start voting and making motions as if they were delegates.

    4. They will try to take over your security. In our case, RP brought members of a militia to the convention (yes, I did say a militia). These people were outside trying to make the Louisiana State Police leave the premises.

    5. If asked to leave the convention, due to their constant rabble rousing, they will resist arrest and do things to fake injuries. Regardless, they will take to the internet accusing you of everything including beating your dog. Doesn't even matter if you don't have a dog, in their eyes the end justifies the means.

    6. They will try and disrupt by sneaking in microphones (better to shout you down with) will try and have their own convention in the same room to add to the confusion.

    7. They know the first few people that get way, way out of line will probably be arrested and they have planned for this and have the next person in line ready to go on with their agenda. In our case, the second man who lay down and started screaming they broke his hip when police tried to walk him out, was NOT a delegate (nor was his hip injured or broken.) He was a Teller who removed his credentials. They then elected him "chairman." When the ambulance arrived for him, the next lady that took over was not a delegate either. She also used the "teller" trick.

    8. They will tape everything, make sure people are there to do the same thing for you.

    9. They are not above issuing threats, making sure you know that they know your private information, such as your cell # and home address. They will scream police brutality no matter how polite, calm and respectful your security is.

    10. watch carefully your private accounts and the accounts of the party. Make sure you are not being hacked. One of Roger's accounts was hacked 5 times that day.

    11. Plan to have several people who can stay on the internet trying to correct their lies. You just can't believe how many people they will have doing this online.

These people are working with the agenda of distracting, delaying and destroying. They want to steal the nomination for RP and if they can't they want to destroy the party. If you have any questions, please call me and I'll be glad to tell you anything I know to try and help."

Ron Paul Endorsed by South Dakota State Rep. Brian Liss

Sioux Falls conservative declares, “Ron Paul will reign in fiscal irresponsibility and reestablish constitutional government.”

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul was endorsed today by South Dakota State Representative Brian Liss (R-Sioux Falls).

Rep. Liss represents the Mount Rushmore State’s 13th House District. The area comprises Minnehaha County including Sioux Falls, the state’s largest city. In making public his endorsement, Rep. Liss is doing so as a private citizen and not on behalf of any entity with which he is affiliated.

“It makes no sense for my fellow South Dakotans to send unvigilant, liberal Republican delegates to the party’s national convention in Tampa. Ron Paul’s delegates understand liberty, and Dr. Paul himself fully understands and appreciates federalism,” said Rep. Liss.

“Ron Paul will reign in fiscal irresponsibility and reestablish constitutional government,” he added.

Rep. Liss personifies the new energy and enthusiasm that will benefit the Republican Party if a welcoming environment persists, as many hope it will. Liss first ran for office as a Libertarian candidate for Lt. Governor in South Dakota in 1994 and in 2006 ran for state representative as an independent candidate. He won office for the first time in 2010 running as a Republican for the House in District 13, and has aided many Republican candidates in various capacities.

    How Paul Grows the Party

Reported U.S News and World Report last month:

Paul, the only GOP challenger left against Romney, is focusing on state conventions where his supporters’ superior organizing ability and never-say-die attitude have resulted in important delegate gains recently in Maine, Nevada and Alaska.

Paul, a U.S. representative from Texas, argues that his strength lies not only with Republicans. “This philosophy of freedom and individual liberty and limited government is appealing to independents and moderates and even progressive Democrats, when it comes to civil liberties and foreign policy,” Paul told CNBC Tuesday. “So there’s nothing automatic about my appeal only being to Republicans.”

Paul said he’s not ready to endorse Romney. “I’m not thinking about that as much as what kind of presence we’ll have, how many people we’re going to have there, and what kind of an influence we can have on the platform in Tampa,” he noted.

In all of the discussions about how to beat Obama by trying to appeal to women, youth, Hispanics, independents–pick a category–Republicans should note that the broadest demographic, gender, racial and ideological spectrum already exists among Ron Paul supporters. Most of Paul’s supporters and are disenchanted with the conventional politics of both parties, and now embrace Paul as an alternative to the bipartisan status quo.

Discussing the ideological aspects of Dr. Paul’s appeal, Sen. Jim DeMint said in January: “If Republicans don’t understand the important aspects of what Ron Paul is saying, we won’t be able to exist as a party, certainly not a majority party…”

As we head toward Tampa–and if it wants to survive–the GOP needs to take Sen. DeMint’s advice.

Ron Paul: No War on Syria

Writes Rep. Ron Paul (via The Market Oracle):

War drums are beating again in Washington. This time Syria is in the crosshairs after a massacre there last week left more than 100 dead. As might be expected from an administration with an announced policy of “regime change” in Syria, the reaction was to blame only the Syrian government for the tragedy, expel Syrian diplomats from Washington, and announce that the US may attack Syria even without UN approval. Of course, the idea that the administration should follow the Constitution and seek a Declaration of War from Congress is considered even more anachronistic now than under the previous administration.

It may be the case that the Syrian military was responsible for the events last week, but recent bombings and attacks have been carried out by armed rebels with reported al-Qaeda ties. With the stakes so high, it would make sense to wait for a full investigation — unless the truth is less important than stirring up emotions in favor of a US attack.

There is ample reason to be skeptical about US government claims amplified in mainstream media reports. How many times recently have lies and exaggerations been used to push for the use of force overseas? It was not long ago that we were told Gaddafi was planning genocide for the people of Libya, and the only way to stop it was a US attack. Those claims turned out to be false, but by then the US and NATO had already bombed Libya, destroying its infrastructure, killing untold numbers of civilians, and leaving a gang of violent thugs in charge.

Likewise, we were told numerous falsehoods to increase popular support for the 2003 war on Iraq, including salacious stories of trans-Atlantic drones and WMDs. Advocates of war did not understand the complexities of Iraqi society, including its tribal and religious differences. As a result, Iraq today is a chaotic mess, with its ancient Christian population eliminated and the economy set back decades. An unnecessary war brought about by lies and manipulation never ends well.

Earlier still, we were told lies about genocide and massacres in Kosovo to pave the way for President Clinton’s bombing campaign against Yugoslavia. More than 12 years later, that region is every bit as unstable and dangerous as before the US intervention – and American troops are still there.

The story about the Syrian massacre keeps changing, which should raise suspicions. First, we were told that the killings were caused by government shelling, but then it was discovered that most were killed at close range with handgun fire and knives. No one has explained why government forces would take the time to go house to house binding the hands of the victims before shooting them, and then retreat to allow the rebels in to record the gruesome details. No one wants to ask or answer the disturbing questions, but it would be wise to ask ourselves who benefits from these stories.

We have seen media reports over the past several weeks that the Obama administration is providing direct “non-lethal” assistance to the rebels in Syria while facilitating the transfer of weapons from other Gulf States. This semi-covert assistance to rebels we don’t know much about threatens to become overt intervention. Last week Gen. Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said about Syria, “I think the military option should be considered.” And here all along I thought it was up to Congress to decide when we go to war, not the generals.

We are on a fast track to war against Syria. It is time to put on the brakes.

500 is just the starting point! You also have to take into account all of the "STEALTH" delegates, and the delegates not YET elected from the state conventions!!

Ron Paul can't just come out and say "Hey, I'm going to win the nomination" He'd be laughed out of Texas. It's up to us to create a brokered convention by VOTING FOR RON PAUL ON THE FIRST BALLOT!

It's really that simple! Once it's brokered, anything can happen!

Will Paul Festival be the Next “Rally for the Republic”?

Liberty Chat | Bridging the gap between Republicans, Conservatives & Libertarians

If the constant media coverage is any indication, “Paul Festival” is gaining steam.

Seeing how it’s unlikely Campaign for Liberty will have another “Rally for the Republic” because Ron Paul will actually be inside the convention this time, “Paul Festival” seems to be the go to event in Tampa for Ron Paul supporters who don’t have a Convention ticket.

Paul Festival takes place the weekend before the week long RNC convention begins.

To nobody’s surprise, “Paul Festival” organizers claim the RNC is trying to prevent the Ron Paul event from happening.

The RNC has most of the convention area secured so that only RNC approved events can take place that week.

This area includes the Florida State Fairgrounds, which is where Paul Festival is planned to take place.

Organizers confirm that with or without the fairgrounds, they’ll find a way to make it work.

Deborah Robinet, one of the organizers of “Paul Festival” says she expects thousands to be in attendance for the weekend-long event.

Why all the media-hype today about Dr. Paul "admitting himself" that he will not be the nominee?

Do they doubt what they have been spreading for the last 1 year: That Romney "will" be the nominee?

Why is the RNC still fighting the Ron Paul delegates in every state?

Why is the Ron Paul fest being blocked?

Why waste all the time and resources trying to derail a train that you are convinced will never make it first to the station?

In his last email, Dr. Paul hinted to something like the liberty movement will have around 500 delegates on the floor in Tampa, but that doesn't mean he is conceding!

There are still delegates to be selected and that number can still grow! Does Romney really have the 1140 needed?

In my humble opinion, Dr. Paul is up to something.

Call me delusional, but I am still looking for President Ron Paul in the White house in this election cycle.
