Well let's sue the Charlotte Observer..... I'm in... legal defense fund?

Let's start with slander, encouraging obstruction of justice (the road hag did confess they are here illegally, but laws are just a joke to them.

I am running around town with an expired NC license, cause there is no way I will do the renewal with the North American Union portrayed on the back of my license.... sorry, but I will drive forever without a license in that case. Thank god the Observer reporter will stand behind me, since they don't feel any of us should obey any laws.

Thank you Charlotte Observer !!!! You have confirmed I don't have to follow any silly, stupid laws. I love you ..............................

    re: http://www.charlotte.com/294/story/654433.html
"This tide of meanness needs to stop."

    Dear Ms. Schulken,

I agree with your title completely but for a different reason than you. I am a member of ALIPAC. I joined because of my wife (now former wife) and our son. My wife was a legal immigrant from the Philippines. We met while she was working as an aide to the trade minister at the Philippine Consulate in Los Angeles.

When she became a naturalized citizen, we petitioned one brother and three sisters to come to the U.S. legally - just as she did. And when the time came for their petitions to be approved (and we found they hadn't been approved), we asked the immigration department why. Their answer was short and not so sweet.

The State Department keeps fairly accurate estimates on the number of aliens entering the country illegally. And based on these estimates, they adjust downward the number of petitions that can be approved each year. My ex-wife had to wait three years longer than estimated to see her siblings ... and my son had to wait those same three years to see his uncle and aunts. And these "meannesses" are repeated hundreds to thousands of times each year since they affect other legal petitioners as well.

But, the meanness doesn't stop there.

Your article had this paragraph, quote, "But they also perform jobs that are vital to our economy - and our communities. Most of those jobs are hard, dirty, repetitive and dangerous. That's why most of us don't want to do them."

Pardon me but I've heard this nonsense parroted so often it makes my skin crawl. Guess what my brother-in-law and sisters-in-law did when they FINALLY got here? Three of them became farm laborers and one got a job as a maid in a local hotel ... the same jobs you claim nobody wants. Well, I've got news for you. Those jobs are wanted by a number of legal immigrants IF THEY COULD ONLY GET HERE TO DO THEM!

In short, the "meanness" of illegal immigration took 3 years of income out of the pockets of my ex's siblings ... and the pockets of hundreds to thousands of other legal aliens who only ask to be accepted by us - and are willing to obey our laws to BE accepted.

Like I said, I agree with your article's title - this tide of meanness needs to stop. And the only way we're going to stop this "tide" (your word, not mine, but more accurate than you may know) is if our public officials from the Federal government all the way down to municipal governments are on the "same page." Those who obey our laws must be treated with respect (legal aliens). Those who disrespect our laws must treated with contempt (illegal aliens) - and this goes for the people who enable lawbreakers to disrespect our laws.

It can't be made any simpler than that ... and there isn't an ounce of racism involved.

    Sincerely,

This is what I just sent to the paper:

[color=darkblue]Dear Editorial Staff of the Charlotte Observer:

I want to express my appreciation for the fine letter from Mary Schulken regarding William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration. If I was a resident of North Carolina, I would be delighted to go to bat for your paper by tirelessly and feverishly working to deplete and empty your subscription base so I could send you all, particularly Ms. Schulken, to the unemployment line.

There’s something wrong with someone when they admit, as Ms. Schulken has, that a crime was committed by certain trespassers on American land, AKA illegal aliens, and then justify it by saying these 380,000 illegals in your state should stay here to do the jobs that most Americans won’t. That is pure hogwash as most any American will do any job if paid a decent wage for it.

So being in the United States illegally to do the jobs we supposedly won’t do outweighs the strains they put on law enforcement, public education and medical facilities, huh? I think that statement qualifies Ms. Schulken for the trademark Rush Limbaugh designation for idiocy, a glittering jewel of colossal ignorance.

Please, pretty please, name a job no American will do under any circumstances that an illegal alien would. State just one and I guarantee you that job will be filled by an unemployed legal North Carolinian in no time flat, provided he gets adequate compensation and working conditions.

Hey, maybe if we deport the illegals, there won’t be as big of a strain on police, schools and hospitals and maybe those phantom jobs you say are out there will be filled. Maybe we’ll be able to devote more time, money and effort to those legal Americans who need these services.

And maybe you should devote a little time to getting legal representation to defend Ms. Schulken’s keister for “butcheringâ€

    My letter to the Editor:

I cannot believe you would allow an article like this to be printed. It sounds like the true hatred comes from Ms. Schulken towards William Gheen. I am Hispanic and visit the ALIPAC.com on a daily basis. I have NEVER seen anything that would suggest hatred towards Hispanics. I have, however, seen a major concern for our country. I also have a major concern being that I live in the Los Angeles area. I see first hand what the illegal immigrant population has done to our state. If you were to walk in downtown Los Angeles, you would think you were on the border town of Tijuana, Mexico. It's smelly and dirty. And, good luck in trying to find someone that speaks English. What's more abhorring is the disgust and arrogance these people show when I don't speak Spanish to them. My response is and always will be "I speak English because I'm an American". Me personally, I have to say I "hate" what the illegal population has done to our health care system, education system, social security system, judicial system, our neighborhoods, etc.... It is a fact the people coming here illegally are unskilled, uneducated, UN-AMERICAN and a burden to this country. I am proud to be of Mexican descent and I am proud my grandparents came to Los Angeles LEGALLY. Ms. Schulken it might serve you well when you lose your job at the Charlotte Observer to stay here in Los Angeles for awhile. You'll get a good look at the future of your state. I think you'll change your mind about William Gheen and what ALIPAC stands for. I'm sorry that I can't give you my last name. I fear it might be published by your paper and I too might be portrayed as "Bill the Butcher".

Libeleous Slanderish Attack on William Gheen, Pres of ALIPAC

I remain stunned by this woman's audacity in relating William to this evil character in a public newspaper! I emailed all of them, and here is what I said: To the Attacker:
I was appalled to learn that you defamed and lied about William Gheen in your recent attempt at journalism in the Charlotte Observer. Not only were your accusations ridiculous and false, but you defamed his character putting him and his family at risk for physical harm. Mr. Gheen is certainly no racist and stands on his own merits with so many accomplishments, has done much for the cause of LEGAL immigration and has helped people of all races. Most people who are educated about illegal immigration know that you spew a liberal socialist agenda, and are obviously angry because he and ALIPAC expose so much of their lying propaganda about illegal immigration being good for the state! Further, it appears that you have some kind of a vendetta against him. Because someone does not agree with your opinion gives you no right to use your position to attack their character publically. Gov Mark Sanford of SC must have really made your day on Thursday!! with the signing of tougher illegal immigration laws. Will he be the next character AssASSination coming from you?

It is my opinion that you should be terminated from your position as a "journalist" for intentionally lying to your readers, abusing your position, and defaming this good man's character to a degree that puts him at risk of physical harm. Need I say this is reckless and irresponsible. I wonder if he had been a Muslim how your slithering character assassination might have read, or would you dare attack and defame a Muslim for fear of retaliation. Doubtful, but you found it just fine for Willliam Gheen!
    Shame, shame on you!
(I gave my real name too. I hope this backfires on her big time)

An estimated 380,000 illegal immigrants live in North Carolina. It's true they broke the law to come here. It's true they put pressure on our publicly funded law enforcement, public schools and health care resources."

This is the only truth in your whole article and that is one of the reasons illegal aliens do not belong in this country. They a putting such a burden on all the states. Their own country should take the responsibility for their citizens......not us.

They come here breaking our laws and they start demanding and protesting what they should get from this country yet they are silent in their country. Maybe all their energy should be directed to their homeland.

You and all the liberals would like to think that William Gheen is a "butcher" because people like you want to promote HATE.

As American's who love our country want our country secure. We have much respect for all legal immigrants.

So Mary, maybe next time ( your boss should consider firing you ) get all your facts before writing an article that has no merit or truth.

    NC ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

    I response to Mary Schulken...
380,000 today....and tomorrow it will double and so will the same problems. When an immigrant enters this county illegally ....please tell me why we bother to have laws. I have obeyed the laws all my life and brought my children up to do the same and hopefully my 11 grandchildren will follow. If a better life is the answer why do they send all of their money back to Mexico to their relatives and continue to absorb the benefits that Americans have paid for. My husband and I supported our own children, so why am I expected to pay for the illegal's ? Every generation in my family has gone to war for this country to protect its freedoms and rights. Our prisons are full of people that could do the jobs of the illegals that do work....and remember a lot of them are not working....they are under 10 in our schools that my tax dollar has paid for. When I give a donation, that is my choice, I have no choice when an illegal steps foot on American soil. Every other immigrant had to pass a physical evaluation to enter this county. If you can pass over these issues and they still think there is nothing wrong here .....you are only looking at today and are unable to see the ramification that awaits our descendants in the near future.
