I'd like you to provide verifiable information that American citizens can just "sit on their butts and collect welfare".
How about some documentation?

Stopping illegal immigrants and making them come in legally won't do anything. Background checks to make sure they won't be criminals? Nearly impossible. Legal or illegal, they'll still commit crimes just like any normal american.

Low income families like this are able to collect welfare. Also if they are unemployed, they can get compensated for that as well. The facts are all there, but illegal immigrants cannot receive any of this aide.

3. Do I need to be a U.S. citizen to receive food stamps?
Certain non-citizens, such as those admitted for humanitarian reasons, those admitted for permanent residence, many children, elderly immigrants and individuals who have been working in the United States for certain periods of time, are eligible for the Food Stamp Program. Eligible household members can get food stamps even if there are other members of the household who are not eligible.

I have a question for you. Have you ever been a guest at someone's house? Do you understand the word etiquette? If you were raised properly you would know that you should: be on your best behavior, be grateful that you were invited, respect the homeowner's rules, bring something to offer, without expecting anything in return, if you can't help with something, at least don't hurt anything either, and when you leave, have a sense of gratitude knowing that everything that person offered you was out of kindness, and not required. If you misbehave, you will get kicked out or will not be asked back. Ring any bells?
