I just called Senatro Durbin's office and told his aide that I was OUTRAGED to hear his remarks about the illegal aliens being better suited to military and that he belongs South of the border.

SOSAD: Yeah, sorry - my answer was real short and not 100% complete - but, you get the basic idea. Thanks for the added research/info too.

Ok: Now I have a question:

Why has no debate time and/or why has no other senator spoken up against the DA or been allocated time to do so? That is my big question right now.

I don't know about you folks, but I'm wondering if Durbin has the votes for this Dream Act. He's certainly not renaming it or changing it in any way. He's pretty confident and that has me worried.
RIP TinybobIdaho -- May God smile upon you in his domain forevermore.

I assume debate on the amendment will come later. Perhaps after the votes on amendments already introduced but not yet voted on.

One thing to keep in mind (and could be a 'saving grace' here)... is that even should the DA amendment pass (not trying to sound pessimistic nor optimistic here) in the end, the entire bill would have to pass as well too for the DA to become law.

If the party-line bickering should continue, that may be a more difficult prospect than some people might otherwise assume.

For those that have a better handle on the overall status of legislative immigration issues in recent history (Dixie - that means you!) ...

Question: Wouldn't the amendments added in the Senate to HR 1585 have to be ironed out in conference committee? (yes, I know they would). And, the bigger question: is there any existing counterpart in the original HR1585 that contains a reference or inclusion of the DA that we know of? <- That, is the big question...

I'm wondering the same thing. There really should be a better way for the senators aides to weed out the illegal aliens from Americans when it comes to important votes like this one. Durbin must really be confident because he is up for election. I don't think he would take any chances unless he was promised votes by other traitor senators.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking as well. Thanks for the reality check.
