When Ronald Reagan picked GH Bush, that was the begining of the end.

No GH, no GW would have been possible, and no Clinton to follow GH.

Amnesty 1986. NoBueno done a fine job at extrapolating the numbers, mathmatics is an exact science. The writing is on the wall.

Technology made the economy in the 80's, not Ronald Reagan. Reagan just had sense enough to move out of the way. Technology was a freight train coming down the side of a mountain. Greed was the blinders that allowed for the tasteless policies that have eroded the values our founding fathers gave us. Sell your soul for a nickel? Hows about some of your freedoms? Values in one corner, and money in the other, you can only hold onto one or the other, because the thief is in the room.

For further comfort, the Dems have to screw up worse than GW for the GOP to have another shot. On your knees America.

Look at when the market fell apart. Perfect timing? The market had been manipulated and shored up for years. Did the balloon pop? Or did the balloon have the cork removed?

Something is steering the Good Ship Lollipop, and it ain't the the stick in the mud conservitives that wanna "cling to their guns and religion."

This despite the fact that George Bush over the past eight years has refused to close our borders and did everything in his power to pass amnesty, whereby the majority of those who would have benefited would have been Hispanics! This despite the fact that John McCain campaigned in Mexico, pandered to Hispanics and promised amnesty! Still, despite all, Hispanics have not embraced the Republican ticket by any means.

Granting Hispanics amnesty or promising to do so has not materialized in Hispanic votes for the Republican party! Accept it and move on for goodness sakes!

You do not pander to a voting block that represents less than 10% of the voting population, in lieu of alienating your base and those who might cross-over. This is especially true when 70% of Americans opposed amnesty of any sorts! That's political suicide! Further, this pandering to Hispanics is divisive and does absolutely nothing for the majority of Americans who are turned off by it!

Now we have Obama who has promised Hispanics some sort of amnesty or pathway to citizenship. If this amnesty ever passes, it will be the end of the Republican ticket, perhaps for good. It might also very well be the end of our country as we know it. Through chain migration, the total third world migration tally could possibly reach 100 million over the next 5-10 years.

That's a conservative estimate! That figure is based upon the fact there are probably 20 million illegals now in the country. Each probably has an average of five family members that would be eligible for immediate citizenship.

I do not know how this country could survive such a massive influx of third world immigrants who have little desire to assimilate. I honestly do not know what the next four years are going to bring to this country....
So in that sense, why pander to any group?! Stop pandering to working white folks, stop pandering to the Blacks, stop pandering to the Jewish popution, stop pandering to woman, stop pandering to the young, stop pandering to the seniors, stop pandering to the military community, stop pandering to anyone!! Then who do they pander too???? Eskimos?

Just because the Republican party has a hard time winning over, say, the Black population doesn't mean they should stop trying. They need to make in roads by making it clear to the group that the party cares about them and that they understand their struggles. The day you abandon a group because you feel that it's just impossible to convince them is the day you lift the white flag of defeat. You just got to keep trying.
Pandering to Hispanics in an effort to win them over with the promises of amnesty for their illegal bretheren is wrong, divisive, and an insult to ALL American citizens. Those "groups" you attempted to make a point with, are not advocating that certain members be rewarded for ignoring US law. If you cannot see that distinciton, then so be it.

If Hispanics as a group cannot back a candidate without the promises of amnesty, then perhaps a new direction needs to be explored. Individual group agendas should never take precedent over what's best for the country as a whole. Amensty is not best for this country.

Convincing any group that you "understand their struggles" should not come at the expense of the majority of party members who perhaps have different opinions on the matter. At some point, you have to ask whether that group really wants to be "understood," or is it perhaps more politically advantageous for them to remain, misunderstood.

By the way, i'm not a Republican....

IMHO, if Obama and the Democratically controlled Senate and House are able to pass an amnesty, we're done for.

An amnesty will add nearly 20 million Democrat voters immediately and then at least another 20 million or more of their extended family that they will sponsor. So that's another 40 - 60 million Democrat voters or more. If they are able to pass an amnesty in the next couple of years, I think we'll be looking at a permanent Democratic majority.

When Romney lost to McAmnesty, I knew we'd be having a Democrat in the White House.

Do you think moron Republicans like McCain have figured this out yet? If not I guess we have to hammer them until they do.

yongmi I'm sorry you are suffering. I am a Christian and that is what is holding me solid that God is in control. I see the headlines and know that God is positioning things in the world for the final outcome that he has planned since time began. I'll keep you in my prayers that He will give you peace that HE cares.
