Lou Dobbs sounds off on REAL ID today
Speaking on the issue of REAL ID on today's program, Lou Dobbs just said:
Let me be very clear to all of the governors who do not want to have secure ID's for their citizens. . .ah. . you're full of it, and its time to get in line with the common good, the national interest and you're playing with fire. This is a critically important issue to the nation.[b] If we do not insist on Voter ID, how can we stop illegals from voting?

A way MUST be FOUND to PREVENT NON-citizens from VOTING in OUR elections! Trouble is, there is NO CONSENSUS on HOW this should be done!

If the REAL ID contains a chip, we're done. They need to come up with an ID without the chip that can't be faked. The chip is only the beginning of the end.

There aren't any chips in the Real ID.

State driver's licenses only have to be "machine readable" to meet the REAL ID requirements. The DHS has recommended the us of 2D bar codes. This is the technology that most states are already using to make secure cards. I don't believe any states are using RFID technology or have plans to do so. Whay would they? It's more expensive than using the bar codes.
