There is "common sense", then there is the letter of the law. Unfortunately, our leaders want to ignore the law if they don't agree with it, citing common sense. But the reason we are "a country of laws" is to take favoritism out of the mix.

Well of course the DACA permit does not make you a legal resident. But granting someone the right to work here certainly means they are also allowed to live here. It means in spite of having a work permit, they are still illegal aliens and deportable at any time.
