    Yes, they did.

Did you notice that open borders moron Dane immediately jumped in celebrating the poll results. Once everyone else pointed out that the poll was old and of suspect parentage, ol' Dane just slunk away without another word.

    Priceless.
It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

    Forget Amnesty, Private Bush.

"And we plan to move forward on a temporary worker program," McClellan said.

    There's "that attitude" again.

Americans, apparently, Private Bush STILL DOESN'T HEAR YOU. Actually, he DOES hear you and does not care one iota about what you want for your country. He thinks it's his country, not yours.

get this.....several years ago some Congressman actually wanted to reduce funding for the border patrol because they were not hiring enough agents.....i guess they could not find anyone willing to do the job and when the TSA was formed to check passengers at the airports...lots of Border Patrol agents left to take management jobs that paid better than the border patrol.....

I have yet to hear anybody not only talk of hiring more border patrol agents but their starting salaries and raises have to be increased....oh yea Congress could not even pass the spending bill for the 5,000 bed facility for OTM's.....the politicians suck!

I only wonder why we havent put the military on the border, oh wait mexico will take legal action to the World Court, LOL. Bush has an awaking tomarrow and they think that this wont hurt his numbers any more? I see them hitting another 10 points if anything, the American people see it has our president being a sellout and giving American jobs away. It will be interesting to see how all this will go down.

New Poll Shows Common Ground for Common Sense Approach to Comprehensive Immigration Reform
    April 7, 2005

Washington, DC – A new poll was released here today that indicates strong support for bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform legislation to fix our broken immigration system.

Â* The poll, of 800 American "likely voters," was conducted March 20-22 by Celinda Lake (of Democratic polling firm Lake Snell Perry Mermin & Associates) and Ed Goeas (of Republican polling firm The Tarrance Group).

It was commissioned by the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the National Immigration Forum.Â* The following is a statement by Frank Sharry, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum.
The key components of comprehensive immigration reform are broadly supported by the American people.

Importantly, comprehensive immigration reform is a political winner for Democrats and Republicans alike. Our own polling shows that public support for political candidates who support a comprehensive reform package goes up, not down.

President Bush has an opportunity to seize an issue that unites, not divides, the nation. Under the bi-partisan legislative leadership of Senators McCain and Kennedy, and in concert with a broad alliance from across the political spectrum, immigration reform could be the surprising issue of the year that restores credibility to a Congress with sinking approval ratings generally.

Â* But it will only happen if the President works with us to do so.

There is chaos on our border and chaos in Washington when it comes to immigration.Â* We must regain control of our borders and regain control of the runaway hysteria in Washington.
The new spate of restrictionist laws currently under consideration in Congress are exactly the wrong direction to take the country.Â* Piecemeal approaches and punitive patches are the approaches of the past.

Â* With respect to our immigration control strategies, enforcement-only measures amount to more of the same.Â* It's time to move forward and address the problems plaguing our immigration system in a way that works, for American workers, for immigrants and families, and for a public hungry for pragmatic solutions.

    Celinda Lake
    President

Celinda is one of the Democratic Party's leading political strategists, serving as tactician and senior advisor to the national party committees, dozens of Democratic incumbents and challengers at all levels of the electoral process.

Her work also took her to advise fledgling democratic parties in several post-war Eastern European countries, including Bosnia, and South Africa. Lake and her firm are known for cutting edge research on issues including the economy, health care, the environment and education, and have worked for a number of institutions including the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the Democratic Governor's Association (DGA), The White House Project, America Coming Together, AFL-CIO, SEIU, CWA, IAFF, Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood, Human Rights Campaign, Emily's List and the Kaiser Foundation.

Since its formation, LSPMA has become one of the most respected Democratic polling firms in the country, with its Battleground poll widely recognized as one of the leading national issue and election thermometers.

The firm's work has moved the progressive agenda forward on a variety of issues. Working against the conservatives, Lake's research showed not to call their side "religious right" but rather "religious political extremists".

In the healthcare arena, her research showed that it was key to include getting healthcare costs down, not just the uninsured, and positioning the uninsured as 8 in 10 of working families. Her interviews and statistics have been quoted in the Washington Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal as well as a variety of magazines, including Newsweek, Glamour and Marie Claire, and Lake has appeared on numerous television and radio news programs, including CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, Fox News and NPR, discussing her work and providing expert commentary.

Lake is one of the nation's foremost experts on electing women candidates and on framing issues to women voters.

American Politics magazine calls Lake a "super-strategist or, better yet, the Godmother," and Working Woman says she is "arguably the most influential woman in her field." She is renowned for her groundbreaking research on single women voters in conjunction with Women's Voices Women Vote and has helped elect numerous female candidates, including Barbara Mikulski, the "Dean" of Women Senators, Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, Blanche Lincoln, U.S. Senator from Arkansas, Mary Landrieu, the first woman Senator from the South elected in her own right, Patricia Madrid the first Hispanic woman Attorney General in New Mexico, and the historic victory of Carol Moseley-Braun, who was the first African-American woman to be elected to the United States Senate. She also works for Nancy Pelosi, the leader of the House minority.

In past election cycles, Lake served as pollster for many candidates at all levels of government, including Governor Gary Locke of Washington state, the first Asian-American Governor in the country, and Congressman Robert Menendez, the first Hispanic leader in the House Democratic Caucus.

In 2000 Lake and her firm were the only firm to beat 2 Republican incumbents to elect Debbie Stabenow to the U.S. Senate and Bob Wise as Governor of West Virginia, and in 1992 election cycle, Lake oversaw focus group research for the Clinton/Gore campaign and served as a general consultant throughout the campaign. An experienced moderator, Lake has conducted focus group research throughout the United States on a large variety of topics including union labor, environmental and immigration issues, and speaking to women on economy.

She is also credited with identifying key voter groups, including Reagan seniors, NASCAR dads, waitress moms, the marriage gap and generation D.
Prior to forming Lake Snell Perry and Associates, Lake was partner and vice president at Greenberg-Lake. Her earlier experience includes serving as political director of the Women's Campaign Fund, and as the Research Director at the Institute for Social Research in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Policy Analyst for the Subcommittee on Select Education.

Lake, a native of Montana and one of the political world's most avid whitewater rafters, holds a Masters degree in Political Science and Survey Research from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and a certificate in political science from the University of Geneva, in Geneva, Switzerland. Lake received her undergraduate degree from Smith College in Massachusetts, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with honors and was recently awarded the Distinguished Alumna Medal by the College.

I think part of the problem with the Border Patrol not being able to hire enough people is its considered a federal law enforcement position and anyone over 35 years old is automatically disqualified for those positions.

Assuming they went in the military right after high school, that disqualifies every Veteran that served 20 years and retired.

That's because it's bogus. It was commissioned by the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the National Immigration Forum.

They got the results they paid for.

It's because the Zogby poll used the term "illegal immigrant". The open borders poll calls them "undocumented workers". You know, people we need to "keep the economy from collapsing".

The open borders lobby is really piling on the mind control propoganda.

Bushs' plan should be called "Destroy America"

Each working illegal alien costs Americans $10,000 a year in reduced wages, and each one of their children costs Americans about $5000 a year. Since each illegal family averages 4 children, that is 2 children per illegal. So over 30 years each illegal and their 2 children will cost Americans $600,000. I am sure the "substantial" fine Bush proposes will not be $600,000. Thus his plan screws Americans in the amount of $5 to $10 trillion. That is enough money which could instead pay off the national debt and fully fund Social Security.
