2 - do you really think that high school kids think the constitution is important ? We were more concerned about other things, we were in our teen years. In the past and now kids have more important issues to worry about than the constitution, in their mind then. I was more worried about work, make up, getting a DL, boys, wanting to be a cheer leader, etc. The constitution, pfff. Ask a high school kid what s/he knows about it, nothing. I think you're just much older than I'm so what ? I was old enough to vote for Gore in 2000

Where I'm from, that's called Government Class and you have to pass it to graduate from high school. It's a required corse and I made an A. Oh, and you should capitalize Constitution.

Well, there is poor education and then there is willful ignorance. I think that many people in this country are so damned spoiled that they think that by feigning ignorance (or actually intentionally maintaining it) that they are relieved from the obligations incumbent upon an informed citizenry.

I understand what you're saying, however, I truly believe that this type of attitude and lack of knowledge comes from 35 years of the Lib/Socialists infiltrating our educational system and dismantling American history and civic pride within the public school system.

All in the name of 'diversity?' Yup

Maybe the liberals know that the constitution is not the most important issue today. How is the constitution going to solve the war in Iraq, the environment crisis, poverty ?

American history ?? I like history but I also know that I live now, and not hundreds years ago. Pride ?? What pride ? For bombing Vietnam and Iraq back to the stoneage ? for our past slavery & segregation ? Pfft

There's far more important subjects that kids should learn in school other than American history. And you know it !!

And this is the education our young people are getting today? No knowledge of the Constitution? We are really in trouble.

It's the Chinese new year isn't it ?? This explains your avatar. Are you American of Chinese heritage ?? Of course we can change the constitution. The Japanese are also considering to change the constitution. Laws, including the constitution, are man made, and can also be changed my man/woman. I didn't have to pass anything about the constitution and our tests were open book, so I could just look everything up. 2nd amendmis als told me to write constituion with capital letters, she told it few weeks ago. But I write it how I want it.

Liberals agree with me, and we will decide the outcome of the 2008 presidential election And I think that you're foolish to think that the constitution is so important that will make other issues worthless. The constitution can't find a cure for aids, but doctors can. We can better focus on health care instead of the constitution.
