"But she warned that the economic realities of immigration need to be realized and more humane policies created to reflect that."
Reminds me of some of the gibberish on Cardinal Mahony's op-ed piece in the LA Times today.
Check out Mahony's article if you haven't seen it.
After reading it you will conclude that the open borders folks have no interest in competing for the moral high ground on this issue.

What's New???
It should come as no surprise that Condi is taking this approach. She is, after all, still a member of this Administration and those who don't buy into every single policy of Cheney, Rove and ultimately Bush, don't stay around long. As an Independent, I have always voted for a Republican for President until 2004. The very reason I did NOT vote for Bush was that I felt this country was being run by Dick Cheney and that Bush was just his spokesperson. And, their stance on protecting our borders was the very reason I did not vote for the committee in the White House. As difficult as it was for me to do, I did not vote FOR Kerry--I voted AGAINST Bush.
I am completely for putting the National Guard on the borders because I think that is the ONLY way we are going to stop this invasion but where is the National Guard??? They are in Iraq protecting IRAQ'S borders. Does there seem to be something wrong with this scenario?? I thought "National" meant that they are to protect OUR nation--not some Middle East country's borders. And, whose war is that?? Cheney's and the rest of the neo-cons that are running our country.
I think that I will really throw up if Condileeza Rice runs for President. I would really HATE to have to vote for Hillary but I sure would if the Republican party does not come up with someone who is not another "Bushie". You can call that Bush-bashing if you like but that's the way it is. I, frankly, am tired of people who think that those who disagree with every single thing that this Administration says are traitors. That is just total baloney. WE have a right to speak out against whomever is in office when we see that they are destroying our country. Certainly, every past President has to take some of the blame for the mess we are in BUT Bush has been President for over 5 years now so it's kind of difficult to lay the blame for what's going on now at the feet of someone who was President years ago.
Every time I see some member of this Administration cozying up to Vicente Fox or any of his cronies, I CRINGE. AMIGO my foot! VIGILANTE my foot! I think that we might want to start thinking about encouraging Tom Tancredo to run for President because it seems like he's the ONLY politician who seems to grasp the concept of what's going on on our border.
Also, I heard a snippet of something on Lou Dobb's last night that ALARMED me. I didn't hear all of it so I hope some of you can enlighten me about the details but what I heard was something about some Mexican smuggling over 60 IRANIANS across the border. Now, that is SCARY.
I am proud to be INDEPENDENT because I have a real problem with anyone who votes for ANY party just because it's a party whether they agree with the person's views or not. To me, that smacks of ignorance. It should be obvious that Bush has lost it with his own party because, with a huge majority in Congress, he can't get a single thing done. I think members of his own party are trying to distance themselves from Bush because they see that the American people are just fed up with what we are getting from this adminstration.

Thank you for being like me and calling a spade a spade.

I love it when intelligent people like yourself tell it like it is.

Gosh--a KINDRED SPIRIT!! Thank you for those kind words. I'm almost afraid that the posse will come after me if I even DARE express my opinion with that lot that are pretending to run our country. A quote keeps coming to mind every time I think of the way this administration thinks--"Absolute power corrupts absolutely". For some reason, it seems like that should be a mantra, doesn't it?
I am as conservative as they come. Or, at least I always THOUGHT I was conservative. But, based on what I see going on up there in the White House, I've decided that, if you're not a Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson conservative, you aren't REALLY a conservative. So, I don't know what to call myself anymore!! What I am is against ANYTHING that is too far to the right or too far to the left. It is VERY scary to me that the radicalism I see on the far right seems a whole lot like the Muslim radicalism that we are trying to defeat. And, the ones on the far left just want to GIVE our country away.
I FIRMLY believe that the time has come for a VIABLE third party because, as I said in one of my letters to the Editor, my feeling is that the MAJORITY of this country are not so far to the right or to the left but mostly in the middle. It's just that we have allowed ourselves to be beaten into submission and into being the SILENT MAJORITY.

3rd PARTY.........if Tancredo doesn't run then I've already decided to vote 3rd party. I WILL NEVER vote for another Dem/Lib in my lifetime. And NEVER HITLERY!! And never not vote......
Sooo, 3rd Party it is!! Gee, do ya think that the lying, coniving Repubs might get the message when they've LOST POWER in the House & Senate? If that's what it takes then so be it!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
