Historic! Feds Forced to Surrender to American Citizens

    Published on Apr 13, 2014

In an epic standoff that Infowars reporter David Knight described as being like "something out of a movie," supporters of Nevada cattle rancher Cliven Bundy advanced on a position held by BLM agents despite threats that they would be shot at, eventually forcing BLM feds to release 100 cattle that had been stolen from Bundy as part of a land grab dispute that threatened to escalate into a Waco-style confrontation.

Fox News blatantly lies about the federal standoff in Nevada by reporting that the BLM stood down and gave back the Bundy's cattle because they were afraid for the safety of the public. This is pure propaganda, the BLM were threatening to shoot the protestors while hiding behind their vehicles.

UPDATE: Why the BLM is Standing Down in Cliven Bundy Dispute

Posted 18 hours ago by Gary DeMar

UPDATE: "According to Infowars reporter David Knight, who is on location, the BLM is standing down and will be releasing Cliven Bundy’s cattle shortly. This comes after reports stating that feds were ready to fire on protesters if they attempted to seize the rancher’s cattle."
Why? There's a good possibility that the directive to stand down came from the White House. The Democrats are in a political tail spin. Political aspirations look bad for November. They don't need daily reports on how the Feds are armed to the teeth persecuting a lone rancher and his cattle. Waco and Ruby Ridge come to mind. The Democrats are trying to clear the deck of potential bad news stories. Getting rid of Kathleen Sebelius is part of the process.

Reports that Harry Reid and his family have a vested interest in this government land doesn't help the government's case against Cliven Bundy, especially with the bad publicity that he's gotten lately over payouts to his family.
What follows is the original article posted April 11, 2014:
Governments thrive and survive on ignorance. They take advantage of how ill- and uninformed people are. That’s why government schools were created. Freedom of thought is limited. Textbooks are chosen for adoption by the school board. Administrators aren’t going to allow any history or civics book teach a political worldview that will damage their educational and political monopoly. H.L. Mencken (1880-1956) wrote:
“The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all; it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality. That is its aim in the United States, whatever the pretensions of politicians, pedagogues and other such mountebanks, and that is its aim everywhere else.”
So what is the government afraid of in the Cliven Bundy land dispute with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)?
We’re hearing that it’s about a tortoise. Maybe if Americans see that the federal government is trying to save an endangered animal that they’ll side with the Feds.
It’s my opinion that the BLM does not want the rest of America to know how much land is owned by the federal government and what its various agencies do with it.
What if Americans get fed up with the Feds and tell them to give back the land they took from the states? All hell would break loose. More centralized dominoes would fall. The Feds can’t let it happen.

Here’s a map you may not be familiar with.

“The United States government has direct ownership of almost 650 million acres of land (2.63 million square kilometers) – nearly 30% of its total territory. These federal lands are used as military bases or testing grounds, nature parks and reserves and Indian reservations, or are leased to the private sector for commercial exploitation (e.g. forestry, mining, agriculture). They are managed by different administrations, such as the Bureau of Land Management, the US Forest Service, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Park Service, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the US Department of Defense, the US Army Corps of Engineers, the US Bureau of Reclamation or the Tennessee Valley Authority.”
The federal government makes money off these lands through lease arrangements. Where does the money go? Back to Washington where it is used to expand the national government’s reach.
Notice how most of the federally occupied land is west of the Mississippi where population density is not very high compared to states east of the Mississippi. While each state gets two senators, the House of Representatives is based on population.
Nevada has three representatives. Compare that to Texas (32), New York (29), and California (53).
The federal government owns 84.5 percent of Nevada. Compare that to New York at less than 1 percent.
Did you noticed how much support the media gave the Occupied Wall Street crowd? Did the Federal government use anything near the fire power it's loading up in Nevada against them?
And how about the refusal of the Federal government to protect our nation's borders? Illegal aliens cross over and use federal lands all the time and don't meet much resistance. In fact, once they enter the country illegally, we pay for many of them to live here. So why are the Feds going after one rancher who isn't bothering anybody?

Harry Reid, Son's Solar Power Scheme Linked to Bundy Ranch Standoff

Posted on April 12, 2014 by Tad Cronn

Follow the money and you'll inevitably find out what's really going on.
In the case of Clark County, Nevada, rancher Cliven Bundy's standoff with federal agents from the Bureau of Land Management, the leading explanation has been that he hasn't paid grazing fees and his cattle threaten endangered desert tortoises in the Gold Butte area.

But the fact of the BLM bringing in hundreds of armed rangers with trucks and helicopters seemed over the top for protection of a tortoise that has clearly survived despite more than a century of ranching by the Bundy family, and which the BLM had previously been slaughtering with the excuse that it lacked funding to care for the animals.
As reported by the Associated Press in August, the Desert Tortoise Conservation Center in Southern Las Vegas, funded by the BLM, was looking at killing half of its 1,400 tortoises because it could not afford to keep its doors open since the housing collapse resulted in less income from developers.
So why does the BLM profess to care so much about the fate of tortoises, who seem to be doing fine, in the Gold Butte area?
Certainly it's not all of the answer because the BLM dispute with Bundy goes back to 1993, but part of the answer may be that Gold Butte also lies inside what the BLM has called the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone, part of the federal government's plan to put solar power plants and factories on BLM-controlled lands in six Southwestern states.
As part of the plan for the Dry Lake solar zone, any solar developers are expected to pay into a fund to "mitigate" the Gold Butte area. However, the "mitigation" activities can't take place with cattle grazing in the area. If the mitigation doesn't take place, no money for the BLM.
One of the companies interested in building a solar plant on BLM-controlled land is the Chinese firm ENN Energy Group, which wants to build a $5 billion solar facility in the Nevada desert near Laughlin. ENN is represented by lawyer Rory Reid, Sen. Harry Reid's son. The Chinese firm also wants to build on a 9,000-acre plot in Clark County, where rancher Cliven Bundy is holding off the BLM, and where Rory Reid used to be the chairman of the County Commission.

According to Reuters, the County Commission voted to sell ENN the public plot of land for $4.5 million, a fraction of its appraised value of $38.6 million.
Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid has been one of ENN's most prominent supporters. According to Reuters, he recruited the company for the project during a trip to China in 2011. Reuters also reports that Reid has tried to pressure the state's largest power company, NV Energy, to become ENN's first customer.
Sen. Reid has had other links to dubious power projects, including Amonix, a company with no record of success that received huge tax breaks then collapsed. There was also Nevada Geothermal, which received $98 million in federal loan guarantees but in a recent filing with the SEC revealed that it is undergoing substantial problems that threaten its ability to continue as a company.
Both Reids have denied ever discussing the ENN project or working together in any way on it, but the paper trails suggest otherwise.
A Clark County commissioner recently said that supporters of Cliven Bundy "better have funeral plans," and the situation seems primed and ready for violence, with hundreds of federal rangers on one side, and ranchers and militia members on the other.
If blood ends up being shed over a desert tortoise, the trail of gore may lead straight to Harry Reid's desk in the Senate chambers.

I researched this and found that the origin of this issue is the grazing fees.
IMO this is not over, when government can prove a person owes them money to them which they can in this case, they will go to plan B. They backed off and are letting them think they won because they want the crowds to disperse and the cameras to go away. Bundy like thousands of other ranchers in this country entered into a contract with the federal government to pay grazing fees and he stopped in 1993 and his grazing permit was revoked in 1998 so the government does have a leg to stand on here in their eyes so they will be back, this time they will probably forget about rounding up cows and go arrest Cliven. This case is not like eminent domain where the government goes in to grab land on private property for whatever reason, this is grazing fees on public land managed by the federal government, whether Cliven admits it or not he entered a contract with the federal government and then refused to pay fees when government told him to reduce his herd on BLM land which had grown from 50 to 900 head. The origin of this issue is when he stopped paying the grazing fees. There may be lots more back story to this situation but it started when he stopped paying fees. I am glad that the protestors were there so Bundy stayed safe, but the government will be back because they have proof he owes them the money and most of the time the government does not wait 20 years to collect, when money is owed. These are facts I have found, I am not saying the government is correct in actions they have taken thus far , I am simply stating what I found.

Eminent domain is the power to take private property for public use by a state or national government. However, it can be legislatively delegated by the state to municipalities, government subdivisions, or even private persons or corporations when they are authorized to exercise functions of public character.[1]

The property may be taken either for government use or by delegation to third parties who will devote it to public or civic use or, in some cases, economic development. The most common uses of property taken by eminent domain are for government buildings and other facilities

It has very little to do with grazing fees, or tortoise refuge that is just an excuse... he paid his grazing fees to the State of Nevada. His ranch was grandfathered in when they allowed the BLM to monitor and or manage the land in the 90's. His family owned and ranched the land way before that...It is time you people understand what it is really about....land confiscation. I have brought plenty of article's over on this thread if you care to read what this is about. He is the last of over 50 Ranching families that were in that area the others were regulated and f$$d to death he is the only one who stood his ground to fight this...

HEY, BIG GOV’T JACKASSES: ‘Control Our Borders, Not Our Ranchers!’

    By Clash Daily / 13 April 2014

LAS VEGAS (CBS LAS VEGAS/AP) — The rural Nevada showdown between federal government officials and militia members protecting rancher Cliven Bundy has evolved into a battle of government “tyranny,” with many newly arriving militiamen rolling in to draw a line in the dirt about 70 miles northeast of Las Vegas.
Many with camouflage clothing and burly beards, the militiamen coming from as far as Montana are being welcomed by Bundy’s local family and friends who have already set up camp on the sun-scorched plot of land to protest the Bureau of Land Management’s controlling of the 150 miles of desert where Bundy says his family has ranched for decades – long before the BLM was created.

“This is a better education than being in school! I’m glad I brought you. I’m a good mom,” Ilona Ence, a 49-year-old mother from St. George and Bundy relative who brought her four teenage children to the ranch, told the Las Vegas Sun. “They’re learning about the Constitution.”
Ence’s teenage sons posted up a sign on the land voicing their opinion of what the federal government officials should be doing: “CONTROL OUR BORDERS! NOT OUR RANCHERS!”

    THIS LAND WAS YOUR LAND

Reid smelling anything but rosy in ranch fight

Desert showdown blows lid off long-standing plans with the Chinese

    Published: 13 hours ago
    | Archive Jerome R. Corsi, a Harvard Ph.D., is a WND senior staff reporter. He has authored many books, including No. 1 N.Y. Times best-sellers "The Obama Nation" and "Unfit for Command." Corsi's latest book is "Who Really Killed Kennedy?"

Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.

NEW YORK – When Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy refused to take his cattle off land the federal government demanded for the habitat of an endangered desert tortoise, it focused the nation’s attention on an arena Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., may have preferred to be kept quiet.

An investigative report published last week by Infowars.com drew a connection between Senate Majority Leader Reid’s involvement with Chinese energy giant ENN, Chinese efforts to build massive solar facilities in the Nevada desert and the showdown between Bundy and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, or BLM.
It wasn’t the first report to notice curious dealings involving the Chinese and America’s top Democrats.
On Jan. 20, 2013, WND warned Chinese government-backed economists were proposing a plan to allow Chinese corporations to set up “development zones” in the United States as part of a plan proposed by the Chinese government to convert into equity the more than $1 trillion in U.S. Treasury debt owned by the Chinese government.
The next day, Jan. 21, 2013, WND documented the Obama administration had begun to allow China to acquire major ownership interests in oil and natural gas resources across the USA.
China grabs oil interests in USA
The first major intrusion of China in the U.S. oil and natural gas market can be traced to the Obama administration decision in October 2009 to allow state-owned Chinese energy giant China Offshore Oil Corporation, or CNOOC, to purchase a multi-million dollar stake in 600,000 acres of South Texas oil and gas fields.
By allowing China to have equity interests in U.S. oil and natural gas production, the Obama administration reversed a policy of the Bush administration that in 2005 blocked China on grounds of national security concerns from a $18.4-billion dollar deal in which China planned to purchase California-based Unocal Corp.
China’s two, giant, state-owned oil companies acquiring oil and natural gas interests in the USA are CNOOC, 100-percent owned by the government of the People’s Republic of China, and Sinopec Group, the largest shareholder of Sinopac Corporation, an investment company owned by the government of the People’s Republic of China, incorporated in China in 1998, largely to acquire and operate oil and natural gas interests worldwide.
On March 6, 2012, the Wall Street Journal compiled a state-by-state list of the $17 billion in oil and natural gas equity interests CNOOC and Sinopec have acquired in the United States since 2010.

    • Colorado: CNOOC gained a one-third stake in 800,000 acres in northeast Colorado and southwest Wyoming in a $1.27-billion pact with Chesapeake Energy Corporation.
    • Louisiana: Sinopec has a one-third interest in 265,000 acres in the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale after a broader $2.5-billion deal with Devon Energy.
    • Michigan: Sinopec gained a one-third interest in 350,000 acres in a larger $2.5-billion deal with Devon Energy.
    • Ohio: Sinopec acquired a one-third interest in Devon Energy’s 235,000 Utica Shale acres in a larger $2.5-billion deal.
    • Oklahoma: Sinopec has a one-third interest in 215,000 acres in a broader $2.5-billion deal with Devon Energy.
    • Texas: CNOOC acquired a one-third interest in Chesapeake Energy’s 600,000 acres in the Eagle Ford Shale in a $2.16-billion deal.
    • Wyoming: CNOOC has a one-third stake in northeast Colorado and southeast Wyoming after a $1.27-billion pact with Chesapeake Energy. Sinopec gained a one-third interest in Devon Energy’s 320,000 acres as part of a larger $2.5-billion deal.

On March 6, 2012, in a separate story, the Wall Street Journal described that China’s strategy implemented since 2010 by Fu Chengyu, who has served as chairman of both CNOOC and Sinopec, involved the following components: “Seek minority states, play a passive role, and, in a nod to U.S. regulators, keep Chinese personnel at arm’s length from advanced U.S. technology.”
Harry Reid and Chinese solar investments in Nevada
On April 3, 3012, Bloomberg reported Chinese billionaire Wang Yusuo, one of China’s richest citizens and the founder of Chinese energy giant ENN Group, had teamed up with Senate Majority Leader Reid to win incentives including land 113 miles southeast of Las Vegas that ENN sought to buy for $4.5 million, less than one-eighth of the land’s $38.6 million assessed value.
Bloomberg reported ENN intended to create solar energy farms on the Nevada land, despite the nearly 50 percent plunge in solar panel prices globally in the previous 15 months that led to the bankruptcy of solar equipment maker Solyndra LLC, which had received approximately $535 million in U.S. government loan guarantees.
Bloomberg further documented ENN had contributed $40,650 individually and through its political action committee to Sen. Reid over the previous three election cycles.
Subsequently, on Sept. 4, 2012, Breitbart.com reported lawyer Rory Reid, the son of Sen. Reid, had been appointed the primary representative for ENN Energy Group, fronting the bid by the Chinese company to build a $5-billion solar panel plant on a 9,000-acre Clark County desert plot in Laughton, Nevada.
A Reuters report published on Aug. 31, 2012, documented that Reid was recruited by ENN during a 2011 trip he took to China with nine other U.S. senators, supposedly to invite Chinese investment in the United States.
The Senate group accompanying Reid on his 2011 trip to China included six other Democrats and three Republicans: Richard Shelby, R-Ala.; Barbara Boxer, D-Calif.; Dick Durbin, D-Ill.; Mike Enzi, R-Wyo.; Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.; Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J.; Johnny Isakson, R-Ga.; Jeff Merkley, D-Ore.; and Michael Bennet, D-Colo.
“A tortoise isn’t the reason why BLM is harassing a 67-year-old rancher,” blogger Dana Loesch wrote last week. “They want his land.”
Loesch pointed out that Reid has been accused by ranchers in Nevada of using the BLM to control Nevada land, over 84 percent of which is already owned by the federal government, and to pay back special interests, including his top donor, Harry Whittemore, who first urged Reid to have the habitat of the desert tortoise moved before he was convicted of violating federal election laws by illegally funneling $150,000 to Reid’s 2007 reelection campaign.
Confirmed by a 71-28 Senate vote on April 9, BLM chief Neil Kornze served as a former senior adviser to Reid before he joined BLM in 2011, serving for the past year as the agency’s principal deputy director, according to a CBS local television news report broadcast in Carson City, Nevada.
In 2012, BLM and the U.S. Department of Energy published a “Final Pragmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) for Solar Energy Development in Six Southwestern States” that Inforwars.com charged established the basis for allowing the endangered desert tortoise to migrate habitats, paving the way to put solar energy development projects on acreage that includes public land at dispute in the Bundy standoff over grazing rights.
Loesch’s analysis of the BLM’s actions was echoed at the Moapa Valley Town board meeting last Wednesday when one of the local citizens rose to give a stirring defense of Cliven Bundy and issue a warning to the BLM.
“They can throw an army of men around there … with sniper rifles on people just like you are, men, women and children … out there, who believe they have a right to be there,” he said.
“Maybe you believe in some other place that you believe you can be. Someday they’re gonna throw that army of men around you. And then somehow they feel like they got the right … they can drop a damn tripod in the ground and set a sniper rifle on it, so if you cross a line, they can put a bullet in you. Who the hell is the man behind that trigger? I wanna know … which one of you guys gives that guy the authority to throw that rifle down? And when he does, which one of us is he going to shoot?”
“Good God, didn’t he grow up in this country? Are we gonna give it up? This is a helluva lot bigger than Clive Bundy.”
The audience erupted in applause as the man concluded his speech.
“And when Clive decides to go back in there after his cows, and they’ve got orders to shoot anyone who goes in there, I’m gonna be with him.”
Someone in the crowd piped up, “Carrying a gun I hope.”
“No, no,” he said, “because them son of a bitches will fire the next shot heard around the world … and we will fire the rest!”
The full speech can be viewed, below.

Facts are Kathyet...facts you are running on emotion. He had his permit revoked in 1998 which means he was in a contract with the federal government, not Nevada. He voluntarily entered into a contract with the federal government WHICH means he gave them the right to collect grazing fees from him. It has been stated over and over he had been paying the BLM and stopped, so he was in a contract with them. When they go after him it will not be about the tortoise I guarantee you, it will be about the grazing fees he owes. Do you think any of us would get away with not paying our taxes for 20 years. I do not agree with the government on what they are doing but CLIVEN started the whole stupid thing himself by voluntarily entering a contract WITH the federal government. Money trumps the tortoise or any animal every time with the government and that is what they will go for with Cliven. People need to get a clue and get their facts straight . It stated with grazing fees and has escalated into government thugs surrounding his property and confiscating cows and protestors being there to protect him. Quit screaming at me in red and do some research into grazing fees. I PERSONALLY KNOW ranchers who use BLM land and it is all about the fees.

The government’s move to assert itself in the Gold Butte area shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise considering the fact that it’s a move years in the making. In fact, the tense relationship between Bundy and federal government dates back to well before the 2013 court order.

The fight began when Bundy stopped paying the Bureau of Land Management’s grazing fees in 1993, arguing in court filings that he had no obligation to pay the agency because his Mormon ancestors had worked the land decades before the agency was formed.

Bundy claims he owes roughly $300,000 in back fees, but the federal government says it’s more than that.

Fact is they are doing this to people all over our Country not just in Nevada..It is called land confiscation. With rules and laws made up as they go along to protect themselves and their interests....I am not running on emotion April..Not in the least, I am angry that we have people in our Country confiscating peoples land on made up rules, and f$$'s for land use. As I said he had paid his f$$'s to the State of Nevada his family has owned that land dating back to the 1900's, he is the last of over 50 Rancher families that were run off their land because they couldn't fight this rogue agency like Mr Bundy did. All the while this rogue agency is willing to shoot and kill people to get this done. Ask your self why is that???? They are nothing but a bunch of paid thugs. There are more sinister reasons behind this..And I don't care what information on the BLM or any of those 3 letter agency's you care to bring over fact is facts. Read some of the information I brought over in this thread.

Think about this, these people are willing to use deadly force under who's authority??? Orders of or by someone higher up to be used against American citizens. These are public lands in the State of Nevada it is a States rights issue.... They are doing this with excuses they have made up to force people to adhere to their rules, all the while hiding behind another intent. What is that intent gun force to protect tortises or late f$$s????. Notice how quick they folded on this, very carefully trying to keep it out of the public eye!!!! There have many Politicians and Sheriffs who don't follow our Constitution being used as their puppets to try and force people to follow their made up rules and bend them to do this by force if necessary, as long as none notices. These people make up rules as they go along to protect their own interests, to protect themselves from the people who object. All with made up rules and laws. Notice these people enforce what they want, when they want and ignore the ones they don't want....This is not over, maybe for right now, consider this is a short reprieve, so before it does restart in Nevada or some where else, because it will, get some facts really straight. Don't throw some made up rules and regulations by a rogue agency out there, like it is true authority it isn't.

Bundy Ranch: Fed Retreat was Psyop Next Wave Soon

    Published on Apr 13, 2014
URGENT: New developments in the Bundy Ranch standoff. DHS insider reveals the Federal retreat was complete Psyop to study opposition to crush rebellion in next assault.

    Source: Canadian Free Press

All of our lives are going to change in a drastic way, if this is true... From Doug Hagmann

At 1750 hours ET, I was contacted by my source within the Department of Homeland Security regarding the current situation at the Bundy Ranch. To put it bluntly, the people are being hoodwinked into believing that the situation is being resolved. It is not. It is a strategic de-escalation to fool the public. This source stated that the retreat of the BLM agents and the release of the cattle was actually crafted as a potential plan yesterday (Friday, 11 April 2014) based on the following:

    1. A military assessment of satellite and drone surveillance imagery of the "patriot resistance. Drones under the control of the U.S. military were in use, taking real-time photographic images of not just the activity at the ranch, but "identifying the protesters, any arms and any supplies they might have or be carrying. "Mission accomplished."
    2. Real-time communication intercepts between patriots on-site and their off-site support;
    3. Active monitoring of internet traffic regarding the coverage of events at ranch;
    4. The monitoring of real-time video from the scene.

This source stated that a response by the patriot movement was anticipated, although exceeded their expectations. Although this was a real operation, they also ran this as a test case for future government operations once they saw the response. They were also actively managing the media, in some cases threatening to cut off White House access to anyone covering the event.

Despite this, the coverage by the alternative media began to create a public relations problem that was not easily managed. Note the lack of acknowledgment by the White House regarding this event. They are intentionally framing it as a state issue, despite the fact that all federal response has been and continues to be from the White House. There is a reason for this -- a reason that has not been identified in any of the public reports to date. I will explain in further detail in a follow-up report on Sunday, after this source attends [redacted] to obtain more specific information about future federal operations. Regardless, according to this source, the government will take back 'their land' as they must to fulfill international obligations. It was never about grazing rights or anything other than (1) "securing clear title" to the land, and (2) further demonizing any patriotic resistance. It is my understanding, based on the information from this source, that it is a critical task to create a situation that will also advance their agenda of gun control and confiscation.

A more detailed report will follow on Sunday, 13 April 2014, with additional and much more specific information about their inside plans and future operations.

Friday Night News Dump: FAA Establishes a No-Fly Zone Over the Bundy Ranch Area

Posted by Joe For America on Apr 12, 2014

Let the cover-up begin. Last night at 9:38, the Federal Aviation Commission established a no-fly zone over the Bundy Ranch and a 3 nautical mile area.
No pilots may operate an aircraft in the areas covered by this NOTAM (except as described)
ONLY RELIEF AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS UNDER DIRECTION OF BLM ARE AUTHORIZED IN THE AIRSPACE
This means that the only helicopters that will be allowed to fly overhead will belong to the government. News helicopters that might be filming will be strictly off-limits. The Bureau of Land Management can do whatever it wants to protesters without fear of their actions appearing on CNN.

This is not a good sign. In fact, with this occurring on a Friday night, anything that occurs in the protest area can be carefully swept under the rug. This is commonly referred to in the press industry as a “news dump”. Bad news is released on a Friday afternoon or evening in an attempt to avoid media scrutiny. Fewer people pay attention to the news on Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays, so this information can be quietly doled out with far less hullabaloo. That also makes the weekend a “perfect” time for an assault on protesters.

Yesterday Clark County Tom Collins said that those traveling to the area to support the Bundy family “better have funeral plans.” This may not have just been bluster, but ominous foreshadowing of a planned event. Make no mistake, the stage is being set for this to be another Waco or Ruby Ridge: a government propelled slaughter of those who refuse to comply. Without witnesses, they can spin the story just like they did in those two tragedies, putting the onus on the victims.

Here’s a hint: this has nothing to do with turtles. It has nothing to do with grazing cattle. It has to do with money and privileges for the elite.

Turn of the Screw: The Cliven Bundy Standoff

    Brandon Turbeville
    Activist Post

With the situation heating up in Clark County, Nevada, a range of emotions have been expressed by those following the events taking place. These emotions vary widely depending upon one's worldview and political perspective, as most emotions do. For those successfully trained to believe that government is always right, Bundy is nothing more than another “right wing extremist” intent on destroying the social fabric of the United States and the ability of Federal government to function. To those who are more inclined to promote a culture of liberty and freedom, Bundy represents a potential martyr. Even more so, to these individuals Bundy represents the possibility of another Waco or Ruby Ridge.

Like most tense situations, however, it is good practice to let cooler heads prevail and to analyze the events in an objective fashion before forming an opinion.

While most of the alternative media has built up Cliven Bundy to be next in line for the title of victim of government violence, there is much more to the story than what is being reported both in the mainstream or alternative outlets.

With the abuse of protesters and the potential for the harming of an entire family, as well as a significant confrontation between police, federal agents, and militia-men, it is very important that those transfixed with the Bundy Ranch situation get the facts straight before any shots are fired and any more blood is spilled.

With this in mind, I would respectfully ask that the readers consider the following points before launching headlong into what may be a tragic mistake.

    Government Actions Against Protesters

First, it must be acknowledged that the manner in which federal agents and law enforcement agencies have dealt with protesters is atrocious to say the least. Tazing unarmed civilians, manhandling protesters, and violating the first amendment by setting up unconstitutional “free speech zones” is reprehensible. In addition, one could even make the argument that the treatment of the protesters is more of a legitimate reason to start the next American revolution than the actions they are protesting.

In addition, the surrounding of the Bundy Ranch with armed agents, military vehicles, and snipers despite the fact that the court order is merely to block entrance to the federal land and round up the trespassing cattle is nothing if not overkill. Such is yet another example of the nature of the police state in which we now find ourselves.

    The Background

According to many media outlets, the entirety of the story is that the Federal government is attempting to confiscate Bundy’s cows and fine him an unreasonable amount of money simply because of the presence of an endangered species of turtle in the area where the cows feed. Other outlets provide different versions of the story, with facts and timelines arranged in different order.

The fact is that Bundy’s cows had been grazing on Federal land. This is not disputed by anyone in terms of the location. Because use of public lands for commercial purposes (ranch cattle grazing is commerce), ranchers are required to pay a grazing fee to the BLM. This fee amounts to about $1.35 per animal.

Bundy stopped paying this fee in 1993. Bundy contends that the land is not under the jurisdiction of the BLM or the Federal government, but under the state of Nevada. Thus, he also contends that he owes nothing to the Federal government since he claims that the Feds have no jurisdiction. If he owes anything at all, he says, he owes the money to Nevada or Clark County. Since Nevada is not coming forward to claim their money, Bundy argues that he owes nothing at this time. It should be noted that Bundy says he is willing to pay grazing fees but only to Clark County.

Nevada is not coming forward to collect the money, of course, because the land is clearly under the jurisdiction of the Federal Government. Bundy, however, continues to claim that because his family has worked the land since the 1800s, he has pre-emptive rights including the right to forage. However, pre-emptive rights are the result of a contract agreement, a contract that Bundy has stated he does not have.

Many of Bundy’s supporters also claim that Constitutional rights are being violated in this case because of a clause in the U.S. Constitution (Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17), which supposedly restricts the Federal government from buying from states except for the purpose of erecting “forts, magazines, dockyards, and other needful buildings.” However, the land in question belonged to the Federal government before Nevada even became a state, making it impossible to buy land that was not yet even a state. Even so, the interpretation of this particular clause of the Constitution in this manner is tenuous to say the least since it refers to the legislative governance of the stated areas and institutions under the ownership of the Federal government.

In regards to the “turtles,” the claims suggesting that Bundy’s fees were a result of the designation of the desert tortoise as an endangered species are fundamentally untrue. Bundy ceased his payments in 1993. The grazing area was designated as off limits due to the presence of the “turtles” in 1998. Thus, the “turtles” played no part in Bundy’s original resistance to the grazing fee.

However, it is also true that the BLM has euthanized a large number of the same tortoises they claim as being endangered; but the stated purpose of this euthanasia was to protect the sick tortoises from infecting the healthy ones being released back into the wild.

What should be pointed out, however, is that the DTCC (Desert Tortoise Conservation Center) was actually moved to the land where Bundy’s cattle were grazing in 1991 in order to protect the desert tortoise from becoming extinct due to a development in Southern Las Vegas, a money-maker that grossly outweighed any concern for nature in the minds of business and government.

The other side of this story is that since Bundy stopped paying his fee in 1993 and refused to accept a grazing permit, in the eyes of the BLM, there were no ranchers on the public land for five years, since Bundy is the only rancher left in Clark County.

Furthermore, although Bundy’s assertions regarding the idea that the BLM and other interests wanted him off the land should be given due attention, it should be pointed out that his original claim against BLM was that the Federal government did not have jurisdiction over the land.

In fact, Bundy doesn’t believe the Federal government has authority over much of anything. Last year, he told the New York Times, “I've got to protect my property. If people come to monkey with what's mine, I'll call the county sheriff. If that don't work, I'll gather my friends and kids and we'll try to stop it. I abide by all state laws. But I abide by almost zero federal laws."

Lastly, it is important to note that the original stated intent of the BLM and associates was to close off the federal land from the Bundy Ranch and remove the trespassing cattle, not to launch an all-out assault on the ranch in Waco fashion.

Government Hypocrisy, Collusion, and Private Interests

Of course, it cannot go without saying that if the government were truly concerned about the welfare of the turtles, they would have stopped the development in Southern Las Vegas, not Bundy’s grazing cattle.

In addition, concerns about the environment and ecology of the federal lands in question were conveniently missing when the land was opened up for Harry Reid’s pet projects with Chinese businesses. This evidence is damning; it shows government collusion in the form of Senate snake Harry Reid and his former senior advisor who had become the director of the BLM, as well as Reid’s son Rory Reid, the chief representative for a Chinese energy firm that was planning to build a $5 billion solar plant on public land in Nevada.

Although the facts are still unclear, many analysts are claiming that the Public Lands on which Bundy’s cattle grazed are not only heavy in mineral deposits but are also set to become an oil and gas fracking project.

    Potential Scenarios

While numerous potential scenarios exist in terms of the outcome of the Bundy Ranch standoff, there are at least four that should be considered before American citizens and militias descending on the property take any direct action.

    1. The possibility that the Federal agents will initiate violence to be blamed on the protesters or militia members. We have seen in Syria, Egypt, Libya, Ukraine, and Iran, the use of snipers by Western intelligence to initiate violence and outright combat between government forces and opposition groups, both sides with legitimate griefs against one another. If government agencies wanted to initiate a violent confrontation between itself and militias/protesters, what better way than to fire into the crowd of protesters and/or federal agents to begin the process?
    2. The possibility that this situation is being used or was created for the purposes of testing militia members and Americans who would actually respond in a real-life situation such as this. Perhaps the Bundy ranch is nothing more than a bellweather?
    3. The possibility that violence is initiated through false flag means or through genuine anger. Mainstream media outlets would now have their ultimate opportunity to tout gun control measures as a necessity. They would make claims such as “First, we have street crime, then random acts of shootings and terrorism, and then school shootings. Now, we have open insurrection by right wing extremists who have proven they want to overthrow the government and set up a (insert “racist” “homophobic” “xenophobic” “radical”) government in its place.” A major propaganda push on the scale of what was seen after the Oklahoma bombing would immediately follow.
    4. The potential for violence to break out with militias involved in the shooting. An open insurrection could be declared and martial law implemented throughout the entire country resulting in the possibility of combat between those Americans who do not want to be disarmed or relocated as well as the wide-scale crackdown across the country.

With this in mind, we cannot ignore the fact that there have been some very questionable individuals who have been behind “calls to arms” over the Bundy Ranch situation, leading this writer to believe that the likelihood is quite high of some kind of trap - physical or propaganda-based.

While the protests have remained entirely peaceful from the point of the view of the protesters (only the police have acted violently), we must guard against the potential scenarios mentioned above.

The four points made previously are no reason to suspend a protest. They are, however, reasons to consciously think through the next course of action and the potential ramifications of that action.

    Conclusions

While Americans must be prepared to stand up to government abuse, we must also guard against knee-jerk reactions. Such reactions only make us pawns by those in much higher positions, and often cause us to act irrationally whenever we are faced with adversity.

The concerns over potential government false flags are no reason to refuse to protest, demonstrate, or act in self-defense or in the defense of others. However, they are a reason to exercise caution and a heavy dose of forethought before taking action.

While this article should not be understood as a condemnation of Bundy, it should be taken as a warning to all patriots, militia members, activists, and spectators that taking up arms is no small matter.

It is unfortunately true that there may come a day when Americans have to take up arms against an oppressive government and a line must be drawn in the sand. However, it is of the utmost importance that we are all on the right side of that line. We cannot allow media hype and agents provocateurs to decide how and where battles are fought.

The comments on the link are very informative if you care to read. Again I have no fested interest in this other than I live in Nevada, and I have been talking about Agenda 21 and the things that are happening in my State as well as others concerning it, for a very long time..

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT STANDOFF AT NEVADA RANCH?

    • If it's federal land, the feds make the rules. Deal with it
    • Some people just don't have any respect for government
    • Sounds like some anti-government fanatics went over the edge
    • Washington learned nothing from Ruby Ridge and Waco
    • Another example of the Nazi-fication of U.S. government
    • It's a great opportunity for local governments to exercise some muscle
    • Federal government is increasingly acting Stalinesque
    • Team Obama would love nothing more than for 'right-wing' violence to break out to justify further repression, demonization and gun control
    • This is a power play by the government, and it had better stand down
    • Other
