That is exactly my fear too. It came up in another thread where people were talking about whether or not to vote for McCain. Some felt that we should "take a stand" and vote for Baldwin. Others felt that it would be worth voting for McCain in order to prevent the Democratic Congress from having carte blanche.

That means McCain would lose and still be in the Senate, do you think he would vote for an Obama amnesty bill? I don't think so nor would the other 45+ Republicans and a few Democrats also.

I would say only vote for McCain if you are in a swing state like Florida or Ohio. If you are in a solid Obama (eg. Illinois) or McCain (eg. Utah) state vote for Baldwin.

I had decided recently, after much thought, to cast a vote for him, but I'm doubtful about that now. I think he has made a huge tactical error indicative of even poorer judgment than I thought possible. I really shouldn't be surprised, given his erratic personality. I think both Ms Palin and he are in for a world of hurt on many fronts. Cable news is already playing the interview where she asked what exactly does a VP do. It's cringeworthy, and its airing serves McCain right.

Just saw Glenn Beck and he has interviewed her before and for the first time he thinks he can vote for McCain. He is VERY impressed with Palin. She even busted a GOP member in Alaska because it was right. She isn't tainted by politics and he feels she would even leave and say this is why. That's why I wouldn't vote for Gore. Instead of saying "he's one of greatest Presidents this nation has every had" after the impeachment, I thought, "this guy has no character." If he had said, Clinton lied to me, he lied to you and I'm leaving office. I would have voted for him.

A vote for McCain will basically signal to the GOP that you have no problem with them selecting a candidate who is soft on IA so they'll continue to do the same every election cycle. A vote for him will basically mean you're going to for the lesser of 2 evils which is precisely what you all were strongly against just 2 months ago. See, in the end, Republicans will vote Republicans and Democrats will vote Democrats when it comes down to it.
