I can edit that out, but it is worth noting that my tenants were all Americans who were who and what they said they were. They say 'screen your tenants' and I did, but nothing prevents tenants from going bad after they are in your house. There is really no defence against this sort of thing, provided they were good tenants previously. If they did not do wrong in their past, they will pass your screening.

I think that people who rent to illegals are not bothering to screen, and if they are making a profit it is because they are evicting sooner once the rent starts going late or unpaid. My tenants were real citizens with ties to the community and their story about why they had to be late this time checked out from independent sources. So I ended up getting burned worse by my fellow Americans, actually. But I will never be a landlord again.

Ironically, I bought my house from Mexican citizens who were in a hurry to leave back in 99. They wanted to go back to Mexico, and there had to be a translator at our closing. They left behind some unpaid bills, a car, and a bank account with money in it. For about a year, people would come to my house looking for one of their family members.

One of the blogs devoted to the pending lawsuits is reporting that there are two Senators who might rise to the occasion by submitting challenges at the joint session of Congress that counts the Electoral College ballot. Supposedly one of them asked a staffer to research the rules and procedures for doing this.

It's interesting that the LA Times "scrubbed" (edited; deleted) something it had written about Arnold which mentioned "natural born citizen" but it was too late. Drudge and others on the Internet had already reported the original article which had the lead-in paragraph that was later revised. LA Times is owned by the Chicago Tribune, which filed for bankruptcy recently.

L.A. Times deletes the lead about Schwarzenegger & presidency, after Drudge, Free Republic, I.O. feature it; could it be... Obama?

Renew America reader, the open letter below was entitled, "Elect Schwarzenegger President? Obama Says Yes We Can! Dear L.A. Times..." It was posted in my blog, Investigating Obama, yesterday and sent to the Los Angeles Times, in response to their Web article, "Schwarzenegger reveals tricks of the trade on '60 Minutes.'" I had found their story via Free Republic.Then, something very peculiar happened. Here is the story of the story.

After posting and sending the email, I found from a blog comment by Ted, that the very same L.A. Times article was featured in Drudge Report, entitled "Schwarzenegger: I Would Like To Be President!" And then, later in the evening — poof! The lead disappeared! All references to Schwarzenegger not being a natural born citizen, thus not eligible for the U.S. Presidency were deleted. Funny how such a thing can happen, eh?

Was it because of the implications this has, at such a sensitive time — what with cases before the Supreme Court clearly showing Obama to be a fictitious candidate, not a natural born Citizen at all? And with Congress yet to certify the vote? You can click the image above to enlarge it and see the article before it was so drastically edited. Then, click the image at the right, to see what it became, after the Drudge — FR — I.O., etc. hub-ub began to bubble and the big picture had become clear.

Dear L.A. Times Editors and Michael Rothfeld,

Sorry, but something that's getting way anachronistic showed up today in your article, "Governor reveals tricks of the trade on '60 Minutes.'" You wrote there that Gov. Schwarzenegger wants to be able to run for president but he can't, because he "is not a 'natural born citizen' of the United States, as required by the Constitution."

Hey, not to worry. I mean, if Congress and the Supreme Court allow Barack Obama to be our next president, next month, then the way is free and clear! You see, his father, Barack Obama I, was a Kenyan and a subject of the United Kingdom. He even passed on his citizenship to Barack II. The sites that your colleagues in the media defer to about Obama confess to it: Annenberg's factcheck.org and Obama's own fightthesmears.com.

To be a natural born Citizen, according to Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution, one must be born in United States territory and his parents must be U.S. Citizens. That is what the term meant to the Constitution's framers and therefore continues to mean, to honest people. You see, they wanted to do what they reasonably could, to assure that a true blue American would control our military — one with no other allegiances at all, ever.

But, the joke is, John McCain was never legitimate for the office either, since he was born in Colon, Republic of Panama. And what's really ripe is, five states had a Nicaraguan on their presidential ballots: Roger Calero. Do you think it's a fad — unconstitutional presidential candidates — "the new black?" Over 120,000,000 American voters were presented a pair of fictitious candidates by the two parties that control our politics. Isn't that funny?

Please issue a correction and let your readers know the Constitution is becoming even more obsolete — so all things are now possible! I trust the California governor may be pleased. Arnold in 2008! Maybe eventually he'll run against Vladimir? Mahmoud?

There's a whole world of possibilities, with our "Citizen of the World" at the White House door. Spread the word!

It's kind of like that TV station in Illinois that not only dumped an article which was unflattering to Obama in connection with the Blago mess, but then went to the trouble of contacting Google so that the "cache" of it could be removed from the Internet. Probably some Obama person rattled a saber at them. This is going to be a strange 4 years if he assumes and retains office.

So true, and tenants can screen landlords, but that also doesn't always pan out. Some advice for renters:


1) BEFORE moving in any items, carefully inspect the property and not only note, but take pictures of everything on your list. Note both damages and items not 100% sparkling clean. Have the pictures printed out within two weeks of moving in and keep them with your lease. I have had landlords want to charge me for damages already there by saying I made them worse. The pictures are a lifesaver for getting your deposit back

2)always give your notice by certified mail. I have had landlords whom I hand delivered notices to, try to charge me extra rent stating they either did not get the notice at all, or got it later than they really did.

I think were at the point on this where were told to shut up and butt out, no truth just lies and hidden agenda's!!! I feel sorry for what America has become!

It's the ruling elite that has harmed the U S. Some of them aren't even U S citizens. They just have a lot of money. A lot of it is oil money. Or it comes from places like China a communist country. Or the money comes from places like India where slavery is still legal--although it's called something else. Almost everything in the U S is for sell these days and at bargain prices too. Thanks to the ruling elite.

The financial meltdown is stopping the NAU. I think the financial problems will change the whole world. The nations of the world are becoming protectionists.

Bush tried for 8 years to get Amnesty with no luck. The elite don't have it that easy. Nothing is set in stone. We must keep up the fight for soveriegnty, borders and our Constitution. We are awake as a nation and will stay awake. Keep the faith!

No, but I'm pretty sure I read it on the message board for Free Republic. Wish I had bookmarked it because it's a "thicket" of posts over there, and trying to find it using some of the key words I remember from the thread isn't pulling up the one I want.

Meanwhile, the scattering of the ashes of "Toot" took place yesterday, after what appears to have been a small family-only memorial service at a humble Unitarian church housed in a former house/residence.

HONOLULU - President-elect Barack Obama gathered with family and friends on Tuesday for a private memorial service for the beloved grandmother who helped raise him. Madelyn Payne Dunham, known to her friends as "Toot", died Nov. 2, two days before Obama won election to become the nation's first African-American president. She was 86.

Obama did not speak to reporters at the small home that had been converted into the First Unitarian Church in the neighborhood of Nuuanu. Aides said Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, and her husband, Konrad Ng, also were present. Following the ceremony, Obama drove to cliffs east of Hononulu. He and about 20 members of his family climbed over a stone wall and down onto rocky ledges to scatter Dunham's ashes at Lanai Lookout.

Kenya: Govt Gags Obama Family

Nairobi — The government has blocked Kenyan members of President-elect Barrack Obama's extended family from talking to the media. Family members will have to ask permission from government before issuing making any statement concerning Obama. The government will also vet all those seeking information about the family.

"We are doing this because we want to ensure better flow of information."

The government has decided that you should inform its officers who will be based here if you want to address the media," Athman Said, an Under-Secretary in the Ministry of Heritage, told the Obama family in Kogelo yesterday.

A proposed Obama Cultural Home comprising of a museum, a gallery, a library and a leadership centre will be put up in Kogelo, Said told the family. A cultural officer, Dorcas Obege, will be assigned to Kogelo to vet visitors and others seeking information about the family. Said, who was leading a delegation from the Department of Culture, said the government had set aside Sh30 million to upgrade the proposed Obama cultural home. Athman said his department was liaising with the United States government to have both published and un-published materials by President-elect Obama on display at the proposed library. The government was also planning to produce a video of Mama Sarah Obama, the President elect's step-grandmother, telling the history of the Obama family.

The government has graded all the roads leading to Kogelo and set up a police station within the home to protect the Obama family after there was an attempted robbery. Kenya Power and Lighting Company has also connected power to what used to be a sleepy village. The value of land has doubled in the last few months and several investors are understood to be planning to build hotels in the area to provide for the many tourists who are expected to visit Kogelo on what will be known as the Presidential Heritage Tourism Circuit.

Heritage minister William Ole Ntimama confirmed that the government had decided to make Obama's fathers home in Kogelo , Siaya district into a national heritage site.

"This is a great opportunity to open up the western tourism circuit and we have asked Treasury to find us some money so that we can roll out a number of projects that will make this a truly memorable cultural site," said Ntimama.

He however expressed surprise at the veto on the family talking to the media. "I am not aware of that ban because my officers have not told me about it. It will be surprising if they have done that because it is not right. The Obama family should be allowed to say whatever they want to without any bureaucracy," said Ntimama.

The location of the proposed heritage centre has caused a row in the family with some Obama relatives from Kendu Bay insisting it should be built at Kanyadhiang which was Obama Senior's ancestral home before the family moved to Kogelo.

The family made the claims last week to Gender and Culture Minister Esther Mirugi who unveiled a signpost showing where the museum will be built in Kogelo.
