Nationally-known Christian Producer Justin Machacek Endorses Ron Paul for President

Describes Dr. Paul’s principles and ideals as “biblically based” and joins the campaign’s active ‘Evangelicals for Ron Paul’ nationwide coalition

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul was endorsed today by nationally-known Christian broadcast professional and senior producer Justin Machacek.

Justin Machacek is an Emmy award winning television producer, independent faith-based filmmaker, and promotional creative. He serves as the president of Reel Deal Productions, Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas and as the Senior On Air Producer for one of the largest Christian media networks in the world. Justin has worked closely with many of the most prominent Christian ministries and faith-based media organizations in America, is a devout Christian, and church attendee.

In making his endorsement, Mr. Machacek issued the following statement:

“With looming economic uncertainty, fear of security threats from around the world, and massive government expansion, there is no better time than now for Ron Paul’s leadership. His moral character and consistent record prove that Ron Paul embodies the ideal candidate for Christian conservative voters.

“As the founders intended, many of Dr. Paul’s principles and ideals are biblically based. They include integrity regarding the oath of office (Eccl. 5:5), sound money based on what the Bible calls ‘just scales,’ support of Israel and her sovereignty (Gen. 12:3), eliminating debt (Rom. 13:, noninterventionist foreign policy based on the Golden Rule (Luke 6:31), and a firm commitment to promoting religious freedom.

“I especially appreciate Ron Paul’s unwillingness to exploit his devout Christian faith for political gain. Although he is a devout Protestant and leaves the campaign trail most Sundays for church and family, he doesn’t flaunt or pander his religion.

“I believe Ron Paul is a true leader: honest, sincere, and inspirational. I am proud to endorse Ron Paul for President in 2012 and to help bring his constitutional approach and leadership to the GOP and America.”

As a function of this announcement, Mr. Machacek is a member of the “Evangelicals for Ron Paul” national advisory board.

As a first basic step, those wanting to join the “Evangelicals for Ron Paul” nationwide coalition should visit the official web page by clicking here. Prospective members should also send an email to hq.coalitions@ronpaul2012.com, writing the coalition name in the subject line.

    Ron Paul is Thomas Jefferson

    Writes Ralph Benko at Forbes:

Who stands in opposition to “the [central] bank of the United States, public debt, a navy, a standing army, American manufacturing, federally funded improvement of the interior, the role of a world power, military glory, an extensive foreign ministry, loose construction of the Constitution, and subordination of the states to the federal government”? Hint, these words were not written about Rep. Ron Paul.

This is Garry Wills’s description of Thomas Jefferson. The elite political class looked with disdain, and now looks with a certain measure of bemusement, upon Dr. Paul. Paul represents the re-emergence of a great American tradition. That tradition reawakens in the person of Ron Paul, who has a fair claim to be our era’s Thomas Jefferson…
The Hamiltonian version of America is ascendant. Yet the Jeffersonian streak of subsidiarity lives on, is essential to America’s identity and greatness, and is a rising force. It has found its most powerful exponent since, at least, Goldwater in the person of Ron Paul.

Thomas Jefferson’s agenda including eliminating the national bank, reducing the military, and dismantling the federal taxation system. These are at the heart of Ron Paul’s agenda.
Jefferson was a courageous radical. His anti-(federal)-government convictions often are indistinguishable from those of Dr. Paul…

Upon Jefferson’s 1801 inauguration as president, the Pasha of Tripoli (the sure enough predecessor of Muammar Qaddafi), demanded tribute from America. Jefferson refused and the Pasha declared war on America not through some declaration but, lore has it, by chopping down the flagpole in front of the American consulate.

Jefferson responded by sending in a small force to protect Americans and American interests but believed it unconstitutional to do more absent a declaration of war…

Still, Jefferson’s demilitarization of the United States very much anticipated that proposed by Ron Paul. And in matters economic it is hard to slip a photon between Paul and Jefferson. Dr. Paul calls the Fed unconstitutional; Jefferson called its predecessor, the Bank of the United States, unconstitutional:

Jefferson’s opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank:
I consider the foundation of the Constitution as laid on this ground: That all powers not delegated to the United States, by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States or to the people. … To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power, no longer susceptible of any definition.

The incorporation of a bank, and the powers assumed by this bill, have not, in my opinion, been delegated to the United States, by the Constitution.
The entire column is well worth for time

Ron Paul Issues Statement on Latest Obama Budget

“The debt should be priority number one, for everybody. It is for me”

    LAKE JACKSON, Texas
    – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul released the following statement regarding President Barack Obama’s newly released budget for fiscal year 2013.
“For the fourth year in a row our federal budget deficit will exceed $1 trillion, and President Obama is offering us a budget plan that will continue digging us deeper into this debt hole. This budget contains a massive tax increase, and President Obama’s policies of more debt and taxes will make the jobs crisis facing the nation much worse than the employment crisis we are facing.
“This latest $1 trillion deficit plan is a far cry from the promises President Obama made upon taking office, when he promised he would ‘cut the federal deficit in half’ by the end of his first term. In reality, the President has only increased the deficit he inherited by billions every year he’s been in office.

“Another promise to add to the long list of those not kept.

“I have been fighting the fight against high taxes, bloated budgets, unsustainable deficits, and ever-growing federal government my entire career. And now it seems more people are listening, but the elites in Washington like those in the Obama administration are, if anything, only paying lip-service to the idea of getting this very real crisis under control.

“The debt should be priority number one, for everybody. It is for me. But it doesn’t seem to be for the people in charge.

“Americans should be outraged that I am the only presidential candidate who is taking the debt seriously and offering real solutions to our fiscal mess. My ‘Plan to Restore America’ cuts $1 trillion in spending immediately and gets our economy on the way to much needed reform. But my proposal is rarely reported on by the elite media, and rarely even mentioned by my opponents or those who claim to be concerned about the financial health of our nation.

“In 2010, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Michael Mullen said that our debt is the greatest threat to our national security. And since he’s said that, things have not improved one bit. I firmly believe in a strong national defense, and I realize that if we do not take decisive action to deal with this debt crisis, we will not have much of a nation left to defend. That is why I offered my plan as a starting point to move toward solving this issue.

“There are some like the President who believe we can simply tax ourselves out of this predicament, I totally disagree. Washington does not have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem. So, it doesn’t matter how much we raise taxes, if we do not cure our disease of overspending we will not end the vicious cycle of borrowing and printing well beyond our means.

“America is the greatest nation on earth, we have had the largest middle class, the greatest wealth, and greatest number of success stories the world has ever seen. But now we see our middle class shrinking, our wealth diminished, kids are graduating from college with no real job prospects, and we have become the world’s biggest debtor nation.

“So what I propose under a Paul presidency, is a path back to prosperity, back to a vibrant middle class, more success stories, greater wealth and opportunity for every American willing to do the work it takes to achieve. I plan to restore America to what it once was, and what it can still be.”

So many of the greedy power-elite whose god is money would be screwed if Ron Paul would become president (saying this, it would take some other big-wigs in goverment to side with him!) and could actually accomplish or even start to accomplish his goals of limited government, etc. Many of them would be in the unemployment line bereft of their luxurious selfish lifestyles. That scares the bejeezus out of them.

I really don't believe the establishment would let Paul accomplish much, but hey, one can always hope!
As Aristotle said, “Tolerance and apathy are the first virtue of a dying civilization.â€

    No One But Ron Paul

At this moment we are seeing much talk about “The Santorum Surge.” Of course, before this we saw the Gingrich Surge, the first Santorum Surge, the Cain Surge, Bachmann, Perry and even professional opportunist Donald Trump had his time in the GOP spotlight.

At this moment we are also seeing the widespread reaction to the Obama budget plan, which as expected does little to actually cut spending and address the national debt. USA Today notes in an editorial today: “The best test of a budget proposal these days is whether it reins in the national debt… The election-year budget President Obama sent to Congress Monday fails that test.”

USA Today isn’t exactly a hotbed of right-wingery, and yet even the center-left paper admits that this Democratic president remains a failure in addressing our debt.

But apparently the Republican Party isn’t exactly a hotbed of right-wingery either, as for all their current criticism of Obama’s budget, Santorum, Romney and Gingrich haven’t offered plans that address the debt either. As The Daily Caller’s Alex Pappas wrote in December:

All Republicans running for president say they want to cut federal spending.

But a study the libertarian Cato Institute conducted by analyzing the candidates’ websites showed that most of them are light on details about specific cuts they would insist on as president.

The study’s author, Tad DeHaven, wrote in his “Guide to the Presidential Candidates’ Proposals to Cut Spending” that Texas Rep. Ron Paul stands out the most.

“When it comes to proposing specific spending cuts and identifying the dollars amounts, Paul’s website is unrivaled,” DeHaven explained.

“He is the only candidate to put together an actual budget proposal,” he said. “Paul’s spending proposals would amount to the largest reduction in the size and scope of the federal government of any candidate.”

Indeed. The only arguable difference between Santorum, Romney and Gingrich and Obama is the margin by which they might grow government and spending, but they will all continue to spend money we don’t ave. Sure, they all claim to want to cut government and spending but none offer any specifics. This is the time during the election when the candidates are supposed to at least try to lie to us. But even in campaign mode, most of the Republican presidential candidates won’t even pretend that they can cut government to the degree that conservatives desire and fiscal reality demands.

If you truly want to cut spending, there is no one but Ron Paul. If you truly want to tackle the national debt, there is no one but Ron Paul. This isn’t shilling for favorites, it’s mathematical reality.

If you simply want another Republican to manage big government and maintain our debt, then by all means, “surge” away. But if you want the reduction of debt, deficits and government that virtually everyone–from USA Today to the Tea Party–says absolutely must happen…

There is no one but Ron Paul. Period.

Rand Paul: “Ron Paul’s the Only One Hearkening Back to the Reagan Platform”

Said Sen. Rand Paul in a recent interview with The Atlantic:

If you look historically, look at the people Republicans say they admire, the founding fathers believed in a very limited executive branch. They very much feared a king, and they wrote all kinds of rules to limit and disperse the power between the executive and the legislative. Most of the founders didn’t even believe in a standing army. They believed in nonintervention, they believed in a policy of neutrality for the most part. So I think maybe you find there’s a strong tradition. There definitely have been, even going back just to Reagan, people who believed certain things shouldn’t be done in Washington, but left to the states. We’ve lost that. Think about it: Reagan wanted to eliminate the Department of Education. That was part of our policy platform from 1980 to 2000, and then George Bush comes in and doubles the size of the Department of Education with No Child Left Behind. Santorum supported it, Gingrich supported it, they all supported it. Ron Paul’s the only one hearkening back to the Reagan platform for the Republican Party.

It’s also worth pointing out that even on foreign policy–something Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum cite specifically when calling themselves “Reagan Republicans”–Paul’s approach is actually closer to Reagan’s than the world policeman mentality the other presidential candidates promote. In June, Sen. Paul described what a conservative foreign policy would look like during a speech at John Hopkins University:

“If for example, we imagine a foreign policy that is everything to everyone, that is everywhere all the time that would be one polar extreme… Likewise, if we imagine a foreign policy that is nowhere any of the time and is completely disengaged from the challenges and dangers to our security that really do exist in the world—well, that would be the other polar extreme… But what about a foreign policy of moderation? A foreign policy that argues that—maybe we could be somewhere some of the time?”

Sen. Paul added: “Reagan’s foreign policy was one in which we were somewhere, some of the time, in which the missions were clear and defined, and there was no prolonged military conflict—and this all took place during the Cold War.”

Former American Conservative Union Chairman (and current NRA President) David Keene has compared the conservative prudence of Reagan’s foreign policy with the hyper-interventionist, neoconservative vision that often dominates today:
“Reagan resorted to military force far less often than many of those who came before him or who have since occupied the Oval Office. . . . After the [1983] assault on the Marine barracks in Lebanon, it was questioning the wisdom of U.S. involvement that led Reagan to withdraw our troops rather than dig in. He found no good strategic reason to give our regional enemies inviting U.S. targets. Can one imagine one of today’s neoconservative absolutists backing away from any fight anywhere?”

    Ron Paul’s Delegate Advantage

Writes Katrina Trinko at National Review:

If you think Rick Santorum won Iowa, Minnesota, and Colorado, you’re wrong.

Let me explain: Santorum did win the caucus votes in all those states. But because none of those states have bound delegates, that means the state’s delegates to the national convention could theoretically vote for someone besides Santorum for the nomination, someone like say, Ron Paul, whose campaign is aggressively working to control as many state delegates as possible. In Minnesota, where Paul nabbed 27 percent of the caucus vote, the Paul campaign estimates that 75 percent of the current delegates are Paul supporters. In Colorado, where Paul got 12 percent of the vote, 50 percent of the delegates are Paul supporters.

Now delegates face elimination rounds, so it’s unclear if the Paul campaign will be successful or not in maintaining these percentages. But the campaign is hoping to pull it off. From my piece today:

The campaign refuses to worry about backlash from the party if its plan succeeds, and Paul’s percentage of delegates at the convention is significantly higher than his percentage of votes.

“We think that’s the way a party should really pick its nominee,” [Paul national campaign chairman Jesse] Benton says. “We think that the activists that are most tuned in to the issues, most engaged in the process should be the ones selecting the nominee.”
It’s true that most states have bound delegates (or at least the vast majority of delegates are bound), so this strategy has limits. But if there is a brokered convention — which is not out of the realm of possibility this cycle — it will matter if most or a significant chunk of delegates are Paul supporters…

Ron Paul Leads President Obama in Poll of Ohio Voters

Bests Obama in head-to-head matchup in key state

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul bests President Obama in a head-to-head matchup in the key swing state of Ohio according to a new Fox News poll.
Paul beats the President 42 percent to 41 percent among Ohio voters according to the poll.

“As President Obama continues on his failed path to bigger government resulting in high deficits, high unemployment, and rising prices, Ron Paul is the lone voice of reason with a plan to cut $1 trillion dollars from the federal budget in one year,” said Ron Paul 2012 Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

“Ohio voters, like all voters, are concerned about our nation’s future and understand that Congressman Paul is the best person to be our next President, as he will enact real spending cuts and put us back on the path to prosperity.”

The results are based on a telephone survey conducted February 11th through the 13th with a random sample of 505 registered voters living in Ohio.

The full results of the poll can be found here.

This comes on the heels of a PPP poll which showed Ron Paul the most competitive GOP contender among independent voters.
