    The Colorado Cleanup Project

    Last updated December 16, 2013
What is the Colorado Cleanup Project? A new, county-based litigation effort to clean the voter rolls of the Rocky Mountain State in preparation for 2014 and beyond.
Why Colorado? The CO Voter Access and Modernized Elections Act of 2013 (VAMEA) ushered in major changes in election procedure – most notably dropping in-person voting and going to an all-mail system. The law also converted suspended voter registrations back to active status and will automatically mail ballots to all on record. That would be all fine and dandy if county rolls were in good shape. Unfortunately, too many jurisdictions have more registered voters than eligible human beings in residence.
There are more than 20 counties with more than 100% plus voter registration – both rural and urban. True the Vote will seek suspended enforcement of VAMEA while they clean their rolls in accordance with court orders. Stay tuned for updates.

Dick Morris: Democrats Conspiring to Rig Electoral College, Law Passed in 9 States So Far

    Tuesday, 15 Apr 2014 09:26 AM
    By Dick Morris

A plan, now stealthily making its way through state legislatures with astonishing speed, would junk the Electoral College and award the presidency to the winner of the popular vote.

The plan involves an Interstate Compact where states would commit to select electors pledged to vote for the national popular vote winner regardless of how their own state voted. When enough states pass this law -- sufficient to cast the Electoral College's majority 270 votes -- it will take effect.

The Electoral College will become a vestigial anachronism.

So far, nine states and the District of Columbia -- casting 136 electoral votes -- have joined moving half way to the 270 needed to put the compact into effect. The ratifying states are: Maryland, New Jersey, Illinois, Hawaii, Washington, Massachusetts, DC, Vermont, California, and Rhode Island.

Both houses in New York have passed it and its on Governor Cuomo’s desk.

And, it has already passed one house in: Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Oregon. These states, plus New York represent 107 votes. Combined with the others they are up to 242 votes . They need 270.

    Who is pushing this?

All of those ratifying voted for Obama as did eight of the 10 one-house states.

The Movement is funded, in part, by the Center for Voting and Democracy, a George Soros-funded election group.

Essentially, it is an end run around the regular constitutional amending process. Rather than get a two-thirds majority of each house of Congress and three-quarters of the states, this proposal would take effect when a simple majority approve it.

Why are Democrats pushing this plan?

Democrats usually see a smaller percentage of their people go to the polls than Republicans do.

Under the electoral vote system, they figure why beat the drums to get a high turnout in New York City when the state will go Democrat anyway? But, if its the popular vote that matters, the big city machines can do their thing -- with devastating impact.

And think of the chances for voter fraud! Right now, the biggest cities, the ones most firmly in Democratic control (e.g. Washington DC, New York, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, etc.) are all solidly in blue states. Not only does this make it unnecessary to maximize turnouts there, but it also makes it unnecessary to promote double voting, fraudulent voting, and all the other tricks of the trade at which Democrats excel.

But if the popular vote determines who will be the next president, we can bet that the machines will be out in force lining up voters, real and phony, to pad their statistics.

Some Republicans, particularly in non-swing states, are inclined to back the proposal simply so that they get their fair share of attention. They are tired of delegating to Ohio, Florida, Nevada, Virginia, et al the power to choose the president. And they can’t remember when a candidate for that office last favored their state with his presence.

But don’t let our Attention Deficit Disorder lead us to give away the store. The popular vote is what the Democrats do best. Fighting them on it is, in Winston Churchill’s words, “like going into the water to fight the shark.”

Republicans need to kill this proposal and they better get busy doing it. Some small states are backing it because they are tired of all the attention being focused on swing states. But Republicans must stand firm and not yield to the temptation to back it.

How can we stop the Democrats from ravaging our political system? The key battles are coming up in Arkansas and North Carolina. In both states, one house has passed the Compact. We need to stand firm in these two red states and block the Compact from taking effect. Republicans in Minnesota and Wisconsin, both blue states, need to stop ratification in their states.

And, Republicans should focus on stopping the second house from ratification in those states where only one house has acted.

    Our democracy depends on it.

For the Record: Facts About True the Vote

Many inaccurate statements have been made in the media about True the Vote, including three recent articles in our hometown paper, The Houston Chronicle. The most recent article, “Tea Partiers Confer in Houston to Fight Vote Fraud,” on April 29, 2012 repeats factually incorrect statements made in the previous two. Since one of our goals is to speak the truth, we feel we owe it to ourselves, our supporters, and those who seek information about us, to parlay the facts:

    1. True the Vote and King Street Patriots are connected by history but they are distinct organizations.
    2. The allegation that there is or was an investigation of either True the Vote or King Street Patriots by the U.S. Department of Justice is false.
    3. The allegation that there was voter intimation by True the Vote-trained volunteers is false. The Harris County attorney’s office is on record to support that fact. There has never been any credible proof to the contrary.

There was no attempt to contact us for factual information about these serious charges. Furthermore, the tone of these articles intentionally casts our organization and its goals in a negative light.
For instance, in the recent article, “Tea Parties Confer in Houston to Fight Vote Fraud,” the reporter asserted a statement that in no way reflects the rhetoric used by the people covered in the article (i.e. “Attorney General Eric Holder is the group’s bęte noire.”) To the casual reader, it might appear that this outrageous slur (“bęte noire” is French for “black beast” and means something or someone particularly detested or avoided) was made by conference speakers or attendees, and not the reporter. It is astonishing that this was written and then approved by editors.
It is our hope is that the Houston Chronicle and other members of the Fourth Estate will take a deeper look into the issue of election fraud, instead of somehow intimating that it is a fantastical (or worse) assertion by members of one political party. The truth is, 63% of Americans believe there is voter fraud (Rasmussen) – and it’s all over the map, from the local to the highest levels. At least 46 of the 50 states have prosecuted and/or convicted persons for election fraud in the last decade.
Our bottom line: We are in this together, and we are all affected when the votes of the franchised are cancelled out by fraudulent votes. We welcome all voices, all people, of all backgrounds, races, religions and political views, to help us protect the sanctity of the American vote. We are working hard to provide a million volunteers at the polls this November so that the process is preserved. The outcome is up to the voters.

Under The Radar: Democratic Effort To Rig The Electoral College

By Steve Straub On April 21, 2014 · 6 Comments · In US

This is not surprising, Democrats are increasingly convinced they can’t win without rigging the system.

    Via Newsmax:
Conservatives and leading liberals slammed the campaign to effectively end the Electoral College’s role in presidential elections, saying that the National Popular Vote Compact Law circumvents the Constitution, saying it resembled President Barack Obama’s abuse of the law through his extensive use of executive orders.
“It is pretty startling,” Bill Kristol, founder and editor of The Weekly Standard, told “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV this week. “If they want to make the case for the popular election of presidents and a Constitutional amendment, they should make the case.
“But the left these days doesn’t make the case, and they don’t go the normal route of changing the law if they don’t like the law,” Kristol added. “They think of gimmicks and evasions and ways to get around the normal popular debate.
“This is all happening kind of quietly. I’m really struck by the way they’re doing it.”
Under the National Popular Vote Compact, each state would award its electoral votes to the presidential candidate who wins the national popular vote. The effort has been quietly winding its way through state governments, needing 270 votes to take effect
