Here are NumbersUSA points against the AgJOBS amnesty:
Senate and House Re-introduce Massive Amnesty for Illegal Aliens Working in Agriculture
AgJOBS bills, which would provide amnesty to illegal alien farm workers, were re-introduced in the Senate and House. S. 237, S. 340, and H.R. 371 – sponsored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.) respectively – would identify “vacantâ€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Hold on, pardon my ignorance, but why exactly would farmers want this? Think about it, once the illegals are made legal citizens, they will have to pay them as such. Wouldn't the farmers rather they never gain legal status? As a comparable example, an illegal drug dealer would never want a drug they sell to become legalized 100% because that would mean competition and far lower prices. Being illegal, the farmers can treat the illegals however they want and the illegals aren't likely to say a word about it because they know they're here illegally.
I'm not taking their side, I just think the farmers aren't thinking this through at all. It simply makes little if any sense to me.

It is nothing more than amnesty, with a continuous flow of immigrants into this country, a back door to let more farm workers in every year when the present ones move into higher paying construction and other jobs!!

Strange bedfellows push immigration bill for farm workers
By Eunice Moscoso | Friday, October 26, 2007, 04:54 PM
The Politico describes how traditional rivals — the agribusiness industry and advocates for farm worker rights — have come together to push an immigration bill that would offer legal status to more than 1.2 million immigrant workers. [[ Note: Other estimates are as high as 3.3 million!! ]]
The legislation is called AgJOBS, shorthand for the Agricultural Job Opportunities, Benefits and Security Act. It has attracted broad support, including from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and more than 800 other organizations, such as church groups, as well as state agriculture officials, Politico said.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a California Democrat, may try to attach AgJOBS to an upcoming farm bill.
