Why do citizens have to call the border patrol?

I know this is the politically correct thing to do but what happened to the constitutional right to make a citizens arrest?
    So you don't get sued.

Kentucky law holds that a person witnessing a felony must take affirmative steps to prevent it, if possible. (See Gill v. Commonwealth, 235 KY 351 (1930.)

Indeed, Kentucky citizens are permitted to kill fleeing felons while making a citizen's arrest (Kentucky Criminal Code § 37; S 43, §44.)
    Go Kentucky!

i have. as bad as portions of the border are, the last thing the bad elements want is attention. harming anyone involved in a peaceful protest will bring all kinds of additional attention that they don't want. there is safety in numbers. if this was to happen those numbers would range in the thousands.

i'm not saying the chance of being harmed is nil, but there's a chance one can lose ones life just living. however i think more people stand a greater risk of being attacked by bugs than mexicans harboring mal intent.

I see that you haven't thought this through yourself. Think what would happen if an American were to be harmed during a peaceful protest on our side of the border by a Mexican National. The Mexican Govt is trying to get our Govt to legitimize their citizens who are here illegally. They are not about to risk that.

If anything they (Mexican Govt. or pro-illegal immigrant groups) would (directly or indirectly) attempt to incense someone on our side into causing bodily harm to them.

I don't think you can get sued for making a citizens arrest. I mean as long as you're not abusive in any way to the guy. If there are no marks he doesn't have much of a legal leg to stand on.

He would have to be rather slow witted to stop for a none law enforcement person, and that conclusion from 30 years of street pooolcing experience.
