If we would just make an effort to get informed. Some people just don't see how important all of this truly is. Some vote straight ticket, but do they know who they are voting for?

The pro crowd is getting giddy. What would you answer to paloma? What can we do to make sure she is dead wrong?

With all your bickering about the evils of "illegal" immigrants, its easy to forget that the Dems will (within days) have control of both houses of Congress. For the first 100 days, things are predicted to go pretty much their way: A new minimum wage, price controls on drugs for Medicare....
There is also a high likelyhood that they will address the undocumented alien issue and our borders. President Bush is also eager to solve these issues.
It might just be that our problems will be solved very soon....

It may come down to McCain or Hillary (the Hildabeast) Clinton? Who would you rather have running the country? Looks like a no win situation!

Neither! We surely would not have a country long.

The pro-illegals are so sure of this. Here's what else she posted today.

Reality check!! How would a shift to the Left be suicidal? The election is over!
Nobody likes the idea LESS than I do, but that's what's going to happen!
Yes, Bush can veto, but he desparately wants and needs the cooperation of Congress now or Iraq (among other things) dies on the vine with NO finances!
As far as the border and "illegal" residents go: Who do you think the Dems are going to cater to? Lately, they have really been after the Hispanic vote and amnesty or a path to citizenship would net them great numbers of votes. A veto from Bush is HIGHLY unlikely because he doesn't want to alienate the Hispanics for his party, his well known pro-Hispanic track record and it is (like it or not) the only solution given the present stance of Congress and the shear numbers of immigrants involved.

I think the question is "What should we do before Amnesty is granted?"
My idea of hitting the streets is not getting much support from anyone on this forum. Altough, I still think this is the first thing we should do. But in thinking about this I've sort of come up with a plan of my own. I voted for certain officials and I want to know what path towards leadership they support if any. I want to know the details of the plan. Do they believe in a waiting period of at least 5 years. No arrest of any kind during this period. Must learn english as a primary language. Etc. I'm curious to know who the key players are and what they are supporting and if I can have my say in this debate I would like to have it and let them know what I think should be the path. I'm not saying I agree with a path to begin with but if my back is up against the wall I want to know that we are going to have some measures in place that consider the precious gift these illegals will be given. The lawmakers should hear something from us all on this issue and we should be the ones setting the standards not them. Citizenship should not be handed over on a silver plater. I know some illegals are expecting the government to start handing out certificates of citizenship soon but I want them to know that sometimes you have to be careful what you ask for.

They know in Washington most Americans are against Amnesty and these illegals being here, but they figure as in the past they just force it on us all and after time Americans will get over it and forget about it and accept it. Lets face it most in Washington don't give a hoot what we want or what is good for America if they did many of these issues would be put to the American people to vote on.

I won't allow this to detour my questioning on the issue. If we continue to stay silent than no one is going to speak for us. Anyone feels they have been discriminated against opens their mouth and they have a bunch of support. Illegals go to the streets and they get a bunch of support. Same sex marriage supporters go to the streets and they get support. I could go on. We will not get any support if we stay silent and just restrict ourself to posting messages on a forum. Nothing personal. Just trying to get my point accross. I think its good that we have this opportunity to say what is on our minds and allow others to comment. But what is the end result if we are just commenting?

Yes I understand what you are saying. I myself fax, email, write, call and have even been in 2 peaceful protests, but as a whole sadly many Americans are doing nothing. I think it is good people on here can voice their opinions and join together in this great cause. And yes we are just commenting, but that also helps to ease the frustration. I am sure others as well as myself look for other avenues to get people involved in this cause and understand what is really happening to our country and that it will take us all together to see and end put to this invasion.

We are all on the same page for the most part. And you are right we are frustrated and it is good for us to comment. It kind of makes you feel somewhat better. Hey I hope that you are successful in whatever you are involved in that supports this cause. Good luck crusader!
