So did I, I worked at Red Lobster, McDonalds, Rallys, TGIFridays. I have been a laborer in a rock yard opening rail car doors with a LONG HEAVY METAL POLE, and a shovel. I now have a college degree that I paid for, and now I sit in a office. I earned this. IT WAS NOT GIVEN TO ME!

This is the key. I would gladly earn 15-20 dollars an hour, cash. That is what illegal painters, landscapers, etc. make in my town. Then couple that with the fact they get all the social services for nothing. They are making out pretty darn good.

No one is against legal immigrants. It's illegal aliens that need stop coming here without following the proper methods to do so legally. And it just so happens that most of them are Hispanic, and the majority come from Mexico.

Let's break that myth. While going through high school and college my jobs included; literally cleaning toilets and after people at a dorm, working at a restaurant, yard work, factories -but then my education and English speaking skills brought me to the next level.

It's a progression. Improve self, learn English, or stay stuck.

I worked for the United States Postal Service for 18 years before I couldn't work there anymore, due to medical problems. I tried to get money working ANYWHERE for ANY amount of money, but couldn't get hired because I wasn't bilingual. I lost my house, and with 3 children lived in a motel for 4 months before finally getting a job at Target that paid me $6.50 an hour. Because of my condition, I wasn't supposed to be working at all, but wasn't going to sit on my azz while my kids go without.

After getting off work at Target, I would clean the rooms (30) in this motel and wash the laundry. The owner's of this motel paid me $5.00 an hour, so that barely even paid for my room for the week. I did what I did to survive, and I'm sick of these illegals saying that American's won't do the work!! This was 4 years ago, and today I'm trying to get my own business off the ground.

I don't even know how I got through that time, but by the grace of God I did. Bottom line, I needed an income, but couldn't get one without driving miles away, all because I don't speak another language. My son, who is attending the community college here, has to drive a half hour to work (he's making $7.00 now) because nobody in our town would hire him for the same reason.

So, for those that say Americans don't want these jobs, I say WE DO!! We just shouldn't have to be expected to speak Spanish to get them!!
