No, but I have twin children (19 years old) who are working at Domino's for $6.25 an hour while attending college. You're delusional if you think Americans won't take those jobs! My two children may not be working a 10-12 hour shift, but each of them work a 6 hour shift. So basically their work site is covering the 12 hours without paying overtime - what's wrong with that? The Domino's franchise my two children are working for requires its employees to have a good command of the English language. Don't you mean my ancestors? Okay, so my ancestors were immigrants, what's your point? Things have changed a great deal from the time my ancestors came here (over 300 years ago). Nothing in the history of the world has remained consistent over an indefinite period of time. Everything changes over time and we have to adapt and change if we expect to survive. Consider this, it wasn't but a short 140 years ago when several North American Indian tribes depended on buffalo hunting for survival. What did they do when the North American buffalo nearly went extinct? They had to change their way of thinking, didn't they? Well, the same thing can be said for immigration (it's time for change). Our country's population is growing at a phenominal clip. In regards to immigration, to continue as we have in the past will most certainly destroy our quality of life in the future. With that said, it's not difficult to understand why we must regulate and control legal immigration and end all illegal immigration.

I have worked as a very low paid telemarketer, furniture refinisher, Coffee Shop clerk, drywall installer.

I get so sick of hearing all of these false claims about jobs Americans won't do.

Many of my friends that are now working in professional or high skill fields once worked the grind.

These people are actually arguing for slavery. They are trying to say that arrogant Americans need slave laborers.

6.25 an hour without paying taxes is about like $12 an hour when you do.

What some people do not get is that Americans paying heavy interest and taxes are making the same low wages as the illegals that do not pay taxes.

As I have said before, I recently had a pool installed at my home.
My son and I would watch out the window and see only Hispanics on each of the crews that came out to do each of the steps to completion.
We heard nothing but the spanish languge. We heard nothing but Mariachi music playing.

There was no way for me to know. I had hired a company that contracted the work out to different companies.
I asked my son, Does this look like work that American's won't do?
How can an honest patriotic employer compete when his competition uses lower wage workers to beat the system?

It is not only about who will do the work. It is also about driving wages down to where honest Americans cannot afford to take them and still pay taxes, SSI and health insurance.

We are all being abused by greedy companies and greedy politicians. Both Americans and illegals. The difference is that Americans haven't had a choice. Mexicans do. If they refuse to come to work for slave wages there will no longer be a market. Get it?

When illegals get status. Do you really beleive they will be willing to do work for lower wages then other Americans?
How will they feel when they start paying into the system and seeing their wages sliced in half?

This poster may be sincere in her effots to be human. I have no idea where her heart lies. She needs to be educated. When her life is impacted directly by illegals she may have a different view

It always seems rightous to stick up for the perceived under dog. But I see a lot of under dogs in this dilemma.
I wish it were simple. It isn't.

And finally, it is my biggest pet peeve that illegals argue that they have a right to come here to find a better way of life. America owes no one a better way of life. That is the job of each nations govenment.
Mexico is doing what it can to help its nation....at the expense of America.
They apparently have their priorities correct. They export their unskilled workers and import untaxed funds. Works for them.

When will our govenrment put the good of the American people first.
We couldn't be abused if those in power would not allow it.

The person that started this thread was discussing Mexico to begin with, that is why people are addressing his statements that way. And yes, there are illegals from many countries, the majority being from Mexico.

I have worked many 10-12 hour shifts, sometimes longer, in order to take care of my family. There is no shame in it. Almost all of us started out making minimum wage, and we have plenty of LEGAL teenagers and adults who need these jobs as well. And here is the real shocker for you...many of these people actually enjoy what they do for a living! Can you imagine that? "Jobs Americans don't want to do" is a catchphrase drummed up by politicians and special interest groups. Easy to remember...easy to repeat. I know plenty of people in construction. Actually what you are doing is bringing down the wage. Americans have never been afraid of hard work. If they were, our country would not be as great as it is. We did all of these jobs before illegals got here, and we can do them again. Don't make illegals out to be more important than they are, because the financial strain on our welfare, legal, medical, and education systems far outweighs any other benefits that they might contribute to. No need to bite our tongues. Our ancestors did not come here with a sense of entitlement. They all learned English, they were screened for diseases and they came here legally. They were not interested in a handout or protesting and making demands. They worked hard and were GRATEFUL to be an AMERICAN.

One big difference, my family has been here since the 1600s and the following generations tamed, expanded, and built this country and they didn't build this nation to be invaded by the third world.

While this thread started by a troll, I have read some excellent comments with the main theme being that we will not lay down even if the government sells us out.

There are a lot more citizens (appx 85% of the 300 million Americans) against the give-away of our country than there are crooked politicians and globalist elites.
The American Revolution was organized by farmers, hostlers, shopkeeps, and laborers NOT a crooked political party or a globalist machine.....I think it would do well for the invaders and the traitors to remember that.
