von Mises: Congressman Ron Paul has been swindled out of the nomination

It’s a safe statement to make that when Mitt Romney is finally crowned the GOP nominee for president during the Republican National Convention, any vestige of liberty will be firmly wiped away from the ballot box come this November.
For those who have followed his campaign in the United States, Congressman Ron Paul has been swindled out of the nomination through various underhanded tricks at state conventions. The explanation is straightforward: Paul’s views are not comfortable within the Republican Party establishment. Today’s GOP is a party of banker interests, imperialism, and clandestine state empowerment while claiming to represent small, limited government. Romney embraces this platform while Paul’s decades-long voting record stands in opposition.
For towing the party line, Romney has been anointed the “electable” candidate while Paul has been deemed an extremist. The GOP declares this while the media parrots the message as it does every election cycle. To the pundits and writers who cover political affairs, only moderation can win over a large electorate. The people don’t look kindly upon radicalism or so it’s alleged.
Ron Paul’s campaign manager, Jesse Benton, has even gone as far as to discourage dedicated Paulians from voicing their discontentment with the status quo. In a recent New York Times article, Benton shares his disinterest with so-called “true believers”:

Ron Paul supporters walk out of GOP convention

Delegates
TAMPA, Fla. — Ron Paul supporters at the Republican National Convention erupted in fury Tuesday over decisions that weakened their delegate count and other rule changes that will make it harder for non-establishment candidates in future elections.
Several members of the Maine delegation walked out of the Tampa Bay Times Forum after the convention affirmed the GOP’s decision to replace 10 of Maine’s 24 delegates.
“It’s a disgusting, disgusting display of a hostile takeover from the top down,” said Ashley Ryan, 21, a Maine delegate. “It’s an embarrassment.”

GOP blames Ron Paul supporters for loss to Obama
Submitted by hayek on Tue, 08/28/2012 - 18:16
Ron Paul 2012
I have heard that if the GOP loses to Obama they will blame the Ron Paul supporters, what I can't figure out is why?
Ron Paul attracted independents, traditional conservatives and turned activists out to the GOP en mass. The pushed conservative values and turned many democrats into the party. They gave the GOP all the leverage they need to defeat Obama.
Yet when these supporters showed up, they isolated them, mocked them, marginalized them, and disenfranchised them of their hard won votes within the GOP primaries. Then they have the audacity to tell Ron Paul supporters that now they want our votes?
All the GOP would have to do, to keep a lot of traditional conservative Paul advocates in the party and engaged in the fight against Obama is, show a little respect. Let them have the delegate seats they earned, let them vote for their candidate...and let the process work.
That would mean, everyone would feel welcome and many would want to see the party that endorses their hopes for a better future.
If the GOP loses, it is not the fault of Ron Paul, it is the fault of Mitt Romney and the RNC rejecting millions of new and returning Republican voters, many of whom are intelligent young hardworking activists or experienced and savvy political voters. All of whom though came to or back to the GOP because of a glimpse of the possibility of liberty.
The Romney camp can't expect support when it says in no uncertain terms, "Your vision of liberty whilst the GOP is under our control is a delusion...but come vote for me"
Allow me to succinctly describe the bad decisions made by the GOP from the precinct to national levels in their effort to broaden the GOP base:
Epic fail.

Live From Tampa: "We've Already Won."

Late at night, after interviewing two of our disenfranchised delegates on alternative radio, numerous thoughts buzzed through my mind.
There were no thoughts, however, of defeat. Instead, it is only thoughts of victory. Against great odds, the Ron Paul Revolution alone is the winner in this prolonged battle. No one can even rule out a win today. That alone is a miracle.
Don't forget, it is a miracle that we have even made it this far after all that has been done to attempt to stop us. Delegates have been cheated and votes have been stolen, let there be no doubt about it.
Obama and Romney are NOT winners. Nor is the RNC. Only through this revolution have hearts and minds been changed: Romney and his cohorts have changed nothing, other than to actually accelerate their demise.
While preparing this essay the woman running the hotel business center and I got into a conversation; she asked the purpose of coming to Tamap-area all the way from Chicago, to which she was told about the purpose of protecting our delegates, interviewing them, and supporting them, that they have been physically attacked, brutalized, tormented, and cheated. She was told this only happened to Ron Paul delegates. "Physically attacked?," she piped. "Yes, and more," I informed her in profuse detail.
Keep in mind a simple fact. People like the underdog. They like to know who are the down-trodden, who are standing up against all odds. Tell them the story of Dr. Paul and this movement--all that our people have gone through--all in order to stand up for what is right and will fight for it, no matter what. You will win hearts.
Her eyes wide open, she wanted to know who is behind this. A prolonged conversation ensured, which included key points on the Federal Reserve, the IRS, the bailouts, lack of freedom of choice, wars and killing, and, yes, 9-11. She was open to it all. However, one thing she wasn't open to was Ron Paul.
I explained that Dr. Paul was the rallying point behind the revolution and that while this goes beyond him, credit is due to him alone for being the only one to speak out against these atrocities INSIDE the political system. She was leaning a bit our way, but still said, "What about people who don't like Ron Paul?" I then asked, "What would be the reason for not liking him?" to which she replied, "I was told that he was a crank and nutty"...and the reply "That's whay you were told, right?"
She then underwent a transformation. I showed her my book Rigged, where the good doctor was purposely and maliciously slandered. She became full of fire at this, that her mind was purposely twisted, saying, "Yes, they did say all these bad things about him" to hurt his chances. "Dr. Paul would have been in a far more powerful position for the win, if they wouldn't have done this," I responded.
She is now one of us, leaving with a copy of the book plus a hand-full of SuperBrochures.
Yet, it has been against all odds. Iowa chose Dr. Paul despite the hit-pieces. So did New Hampshire, with the Watchthevote2012 count putting Dr. Paul in first place in the watched/monitored precincts. In Maine he won outright, both in the beauty contest and the delegate race. Cheating made a Paul victory appear a second place finish. Moreover, in Iowa, Maine, and Alaska the powers-to-be were so threatened by the RP revolution that they did the unconscionable: they ballot stuffed and of this, too, there is no doubt.
However, as proven by the hotel worker the greatest cheating occurred via the Zionist-controlled media, which has only one objective: to undermine and destroy any candidate who is not an Israeli-Firster. Ron Paul puts America and Americans first. That is why he was slandered by the media.
Yes, it is true, countless thousands of potentially sympathetic Americans were culled by the terminal lies and deception of the media. God only knows how many votes and supporters were lost.
Americans by the millions want a Paul presidency. Were it not for the malice spread against Dr. Paul by the media--even calling this dear man vile names--millions more would have come our way.
Yet, as this example proves such millions are ready to be revived: ready to be brought into the light. They will support you; teach them; enlighten them. They will be the revolutionaries of the future, just as this democratic-leaning lady said, "Thank you for opening my eyes even more."
So, to come this far, clearly, we have already won. And just like in this case, our delegates will win the hearts and minds of many others, bravely right in the midst of the RNC convention, and from there forever onward.
Without people being exposed to the truth, without real knowledge of Dr. Paul and his message, what are we to expect? It was this hotel agent who said "They so strongly represented him as a nut case, what were we to do? How could we know without the knowledge?"
Our delegates have told me they will be taking action in every conceivable way against the criminals and more. They will NEVER quit. Nor will those of us who support them. We've got they're backs. We're one team. We really have won in ways we can never imagine.
LIVE from Tampa; article to be expanded, later.

Ron Paul 2012
Any motion can be reversed by a 2/3 vote.
Read carefully:
ANY PASSED MOTION CAN BE REVERSED AT ANY TIME WITH A 2/3 VOTE.
Read that again and internalize it.
DO NOT LEAVE. DO NOT LEAVE DUE TO DISGUST. Do not leave to go party.
You need to be present ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the time!
You're there to do a job. Do it.
Alternates, if delegates from your state leave, get your @sses down onto that floor and do the job the lazy delegates who left dont care to do.
Any motion - ANY MOTION - can be reversed with a 2/3 vote.

Gary Johnson counting on Ron Paul's backers to Switch
Submitted by stu2002 on Tue, 08/28/2012 - 18:30
Liberty Candidates
Libertarian presidential candidate and would-be spoiler Gary Johnson smoked out new campaign cash here this week.
But his hopes are just a pipe dream unless he wins over Republican voters loyal to never-say-quit candidate Ron Paul.
"Hundreds" of Republicans have promised Johnson they will switch his way if the Republican National Convention nominates Mitt Romney on Aug. 30, Johnson said Thursday.
"That's hundreds telling me personally, which means how many more?" Johnson said during a six-day Texas campaign swing.
He predicted a "gigantic influx" of support after Romney is nominated.
"People are holding out hope for Ron," said Johnson, a former New Mexico governor.
"After that, who represents Ron's voice best? Romney? Or me?"
