    AMNESTY ALERT

Don't forget new Sen. JOHN BARRASSO (R) of Wyoming! He replaced Sen. Craig Thomas, who died this year. Sen. Craig voted against the S. 1348/S. 1639 amnesty bill as long as he was physically able.

    Sen. John Barrasso:

Great Burr letter, William. I'm shocked Burr committed to voting NO when so many other Senators are either sitting on the fence or not releasing official position statements yet. I stated my dissatisfaction to his staffers about his vote against the Dorgan mexican truck amendment and said he needed to make amends by voting NO on the DREAM Act. I'm sure that message by me had nothing to do with it but I had to grin when you said he committed to voting NO.

Just called Barrasso's office but they won't record your input unless you give a full address. I said I would give a zip code but I don't want a lot of mail. She said she was sorry but that is his way of collecting the information. I said that I was calling as a Republican and would be happy to give her my zip code but didn't want a lot of mail. I told her that many of us want input to our Senators but don't want to get a lot of campaign mail and perhaps the Senator needs to rethink that position because many of are leaving the ship and he needs to be responsive to us.

That is weird, GoGo. I called and talked at some length to one of his staffers and only had to provide a zip and city. Sometimes, when a Senator's staffer asks for zip code or address information, I just tell them I'm an American taxpaying citizen from north Carolina and they represent all Americans with their votes on issues, not just their home state.

Allards office: Called Washington and Durango offices.
Washington: Has not given a public statement...
Durango: Didn't know for sure but assumed that he would vote NO to be consistant with his other votes.

    Salazar: HOPELESS

Perlmutter... is almost on the same level as Salazar... His staffer told me he wasn't sure how the congressman stood on this issue. I, however ... believe in my own heart that he will VOTE FOR IT! (waiting for staffer to return my call)

...Staffer/Perlmutter... is not supporting this bill, I am told.
Please help save America for our children and grandchildren... they are counting on us. THEY DESERVE the goodness of AMERICA not to be given to those who are stealing our children's future! ... and a congress who works for THEM!

Yes, it surprised me because we were both speaking on a very cordial note.

I didn't get angry but gave her good information. When I stated "he is new in the position" and perhaps he needs to rethink it, she got real quiet. IF he wants to stay it might have made her nervous to know we're looking at him since he's new????

It is going to take time for the process to work and for these office staffers to issue positions.

We just found out about these amends on Friday. Since they are amendments and not bills, and since there are 300 such amendments for this bill, and since all of our activism efforts truly started this morning, it will take some time.

I like what you folks are doing with the list.

Can you keep a running list of the confirmed Nos and the Confirmed supporters as well?

GoGo has a list going. Are you able to keep the list as current as you can, GoGo? Great work BTW.
