    I remember them all.

    Blackjack chewing gum
Wax coke shaped bottles with sugar water
Soda pop machines with bottled soda pop
    coffe shops with jukeboxes
    home delivery of milk
    Daily home delivered newspapers
    party lines
    P.F. flyers
    Butch wax
    Pea shooters
    S&H green stamps
    Hi-Fi's
    Newsreels before the movie
    Rollerskate keys

For you younger folks here, the milk was delivered in bottles sealed with a carboard pull tab and set outside your home, you had to shake it before use to mix the cream in with the milk unless grandma wanted to make butter.......and nobody ever took it from you even though it was sitting outside.
Blackjack gum was one of my favorites.
Thanks for the memories MountainDog! I remember all of them. It was the best of times. Even my kids talk about how nice it must have been as a child growing up in the 50's-60's era.

I had to endure the JFK Assassination on TV for a whole week,
And I remember watching lee Harvey Oswald "get shot" "live", because there were no cartoons on that day.
JFK's speech "Ask not what your Country can do for you but what you can do for your country" is why I went into the Army. I was in my 2nd day of basic training when he was assassinated.

I'm glad everybody had so much fun with this thread, I found it in a local news letter I receive down here and thought I would share it with you.
    I think I'm a bit older than most here (1950) .
I remember my older sis wearing those big skirts with the poopdle on them and going gaa gaa over Elvis, getting our first TV and years later going over to our neighbors place to see their color TV, I wasn't impressed. During the summer we never slept inside, laying out and watching for falling stars was great, you could actually see the stars back then.
Grandma's oatmeal cookies were the best and moon pies made me sick.
One last note, if you remember the sixties you weren't there.
