I did see where the polls are showing the Repubs coming up in the polls in the Congressional races.

I'm a little long in the tooth, but for those of you too young to remember, the GOP held the White House and both chambers of Congress from 2001 to 2007, and in that time they allowed illegal aliens to flood this country, they deliberately failed to cite employers, there were virtually no immigration raids, and then they attempted to shove an amnesty down our throat. Oh, and in ancient times way way back, a GOP President and Senate allowed 6 million illegals into our country and then granted an amnesty, promising we would never have this problem again.

Right AC. But then there was Slick Willy who did the same thing and Papa Bush who also looked the other way for the benefit of his corporate contributors. Doesn't matter which party, it is that they know which side of the bread is buttered, and the American people are not necessarily on the good side, especially after the candidate takes office.

The problem is, when you look at the list of those who have fought for us, how many have a (D) behind their name. Not many. Most have the (R).

    6. McCain is more likely to get an amnesty through Congress than Obama is.

I respectfully disagree with this point. With the Democratic party controlling all branches of government, it will be easier to push through amnesty. Add to that appointment of Supreme Court judges in the future, and the Dems will control the government and do whatever they want. Obama has voted with his party 97% of the time and I feel he will simply be a pawn for whatever Pelosi and Harry Reid want. I am from Illinois and have seen NOTHING from Obama to indicate he is an agent of change or a courageous member of the Senate. To those of you non-Illinoisans, our current Governor ran on a platform of change and it's been a nightmare. The very word "change" makes me cringe.

I just hope this election will not be thrown again to the Supreme Court to decide.

I can understand why some will vote for McCain. Especially since he has Palin. I like her more and more and her presence on the ticket has actually had me second guessing who I would vote for a few times. However, I have to keep telling myself that SHE will not be POTUS-as much as I wish she was.

There is no other candidate out there that even deserves my vote except Chuck Baldwin. I have had people tell me "don't let the perfect ruin the good. " I can relate to thier way of thinking and respect that. I have also been accused to letting my pride get in the way and also acting like a petulent child for voting 3rd party, but damn it, I just can't vote for McCain and definetley not Obama. I just can't bring myself to do it.

By the way, I agree with some of the other posters here that 3rd party is going to give the R's and D's a little wake up call this election.

Right you are, Gogo! Additionally, all three Independents in the U.S. Congress caucus with the Democrats. I believe there is one in the U.S. House and two in the U.S. Senate.

Gogo said that when you look at the list of names of people who stopped amnesty before that with the exception of one or two, ALL of the people who voted to stop amnesty had an "R" by their name.

I agree with both of you regarding this fact and I don't think it should be dismissed or taken lightly by people fighting to stop illegal immigration.

The writing is on the wall, MOST LIKELY with the Dems and Obama there will be amnesty AND if that happens I believe that it will become even MORE difficult to see a third party candidate ever win the White House in future elections because there will be more voters into the system who are going to lean towards a socialist type of government where they think the government will take care of them.

The media will ignore the candidates again and attempt to manipulate even MORE what the results of an election will be. They might put the Indpendent candidate in the spotlight "just enough" to throw the election in the direction which they want to see it go.

All of these wrong things could become even more difficult for us four years from now.

I believe that could happen, because to think that an Obama presidency is not going to have real effects on our country is a pretty dangerous way to think.

Given the present conditions....can we really withstand these effects which will occur with President Barak Obama?

AND with a Dem Congress.....the sky will be the limit for President Obama.
