Kennedy's DC number I let ring for a very long time. Nobody ever answered. Clinton's DC number after many rings a voice mail answered saying a staffer would be with me shortly. When an actual human being answered I didn't have a chance to deliver my message because I was then redirected to another line I suppose where I heard the phone ring for a very long time, then the line was disconnected I think with a busy signal.
It took several tries before I could even get through to Frist's and McCain's offices, as well as some others since I contacted numerous Congresscritters.
I think this is a great sign that Senators are being overwhelmed with calls from an angry American public.
Yes, marches are important too and other public events against illegal immigration and I've attended at least four since and including last January in my State of NC. So far, any of the public events I've attended met with zero or minimal opposition. Even if they had met with angry opposition, I still would have attended if it could have been known in advance.
Those calls, faxes and emails are really getting through to Senators I believe.
Handing out flyers is important too as well as letting everyone you know, know about this issue.
We have to win this with more than one tactic. Still, those communications (and especially the phone calls) to Congress are very important.People who take issue with control of population do not understand that if it is not done in a graceful way, nature will do it in a brutal fashion - Henry Kendall

This battle for America is by no means over. It hasn't even really gotten going yet. Monday the Prez will be speaking to the country, so here are some things to keep in mind:
Is the speech on "immigration?" We got his attention!
Is the speech in English? We're still in control!
Does he try to make concession like "Troops on the Border?" We made some progress!
Does he still insist on amnesty and guest workers? We still have to fight!

Hello Sonar, welcome!! You got that right, his speech will be meaningless, more BS to try to keep us in line. Someone must have told him to go out there and give a speech on illegal immigration. Maybe Vincente Fox told him to do it!!!

KICK.......you hit on it
Think about the coordination here:
1. Fox in Idaho
2. Bush speach Monday
3. Protest in DC
4. numerous lawsuits from communist/socialist organs at local governments
and...............the best yet........
5. TROOP ON THE BORDERS appeasement

05-13-2006, 05:13 PM #49I personally believe in God and I do not know how many here share that belief, I'm not asking people to do something they do not want to, but for those people who do, make a commitment to pray each day(eastern time 12 noon, central time 1pm, mountain time 2pm and pacific time 3pm).Americans First!

I'd just like to add my 2 cents here. I see people feeling discouraged so I feel like I should tell you what I am seeing here in the "Barrio". An illegal aquaintance told me he's buying a ticket to return to Mexico for good. WHY? Because he feels its going to get harder and harder here. When I asked about the bill in the Senate they are supposed to pass - he told me it was "just like a telenovela" - that they are just keeping us all on the edge of our seats waiting to see what will happen next. He doesn't believe they will pass anything to allow illegals to stay here.
He also pointed out how few illegals are out in the streets now. He said people are scared to come out much. The "Bailes" the dances are not full like they usually are. He said a family he knows is selling their house so they can go home to Mexico ASAP.
There seem to be some who are seeing the move to troops on the border and the tougher enforcement all over the country as very discouraging developments.http://www.soldiersangels.com Adopt a Soldier
