How about People that came here and over stayed their Visa from Australia. China, Germany, Italy, Poland and so forth .. not all Illegal Aliens are from South of the Border

How about the thousands of women that fly into the US to have Children just to get legal status then fly back home after giving birth

no... this number is far higher than the government is letting on

if they wanted amnesty for 10 million ... which by far is insane already, they would say there are 3 million in this country to keep you from panicking.. they would not give you the actual number to keep you from flying off the handle

I agree Ariborne, they used that same tired 12 million figure for at least a decade or more while they allowed them to continue streaming across the border. My guestimate at this point would be more like 40 to 60 million.

The real enemy in this thing as everyone already knows is our own feckless, irresponsible, criminal gubmint filled with turncoats, sellouts and traitors.

I see Richard's from Boston. I've seen Richard on here for a while now posting arguments that sound like pro-illegal alien to me. I think Richard's correct, Judy. The 30 million figure is way over-inflated. Do you seriously believe 1 in 10 people in this country is an illegal alien? Think about it for a while. The 4.8 million getting in per year is also an absurd number, as that would amount to about 13,000 coming in daily. The Border Patrol has acknowledged that a lot of illegals are now leaving because of the bad economy and that fewer are coming in as a result.

I don't think so LAPhil. The Bear Stearns report 5 years ago concluded there was 20 million "or more" already in the US. They had no reason to lie. They had no agenda to fabricate a false model. They were an investment firm attempting to understand the real impact of illegal immigration on our country. They were very concerned about it because the figures produced by the Pew Center didn't ring true.

The numbers of 1.2 million to 4.8 million is based on data from Border Patrol given to the US Congress who published it in a Majority Report on the SW Border 4 years ago in 2007. The name of the report which you're more than free to study and conclude for yourself is:

And neither the Bear Stearns report nor the Congressional Report addressed the numbers of offspring derived from illegal immigration so the total effect on our population isn't even fully addressed by these figures and the Congressional Report only addresses the SW Border not the illegal immigration that pours in through other locations.

And you would be absolutely correct at 60 million including their offspring representing 1/6 to 1/5 of our entire population, a number that grows every single day.

I believe the number is greater than 12 million--or those who count the number of illegals holding jobs are wrong. 8 million jobs held by illegals suggestss hat very few have their families here.

Do you believe that?? I am with Judy.

FAIR project at 13 million. I live in GA. We have approx 1/2 million per FAIR estimate. We had a law passed in one town that all the commercial signs had to have English. The jobs at the carpet mills are gone to illegals.

FAIR needs to preserve its credibility and as such, I believe, estimates low.
