I think Frist saw that Tancredo was finally so popular because of it, and wanted to BE the ONE getting that acclaim. That's why he wanted to keep Tancredo out of the SLRC. He saw the real momentum behind the topic and he wants to USE it to get elected. That is MY take on it. And that would give US leverage with him - so pay plenty of attention to him, CALLING, and posting on Volpac. Yeah, he does "stuff", but, he's a politician! Do you really think he's more loyal to Bush, than to HIMSELF?

I'm just not ready to start patting Frist on the back just yet. He wants to increase rather than decrease the number of legal immigrants and I have a feeling that the plan is to increase it by rewarding some of the people who are currently here illegally. And because of the way they all dissed Tom Tancredo with their little "conference" I wouldn't vote for ANY of them.

It is pretty clear that most of the Senators are cast from the "every man for himself" mold and that they are going to sway with the wind. To me, that means that they are all two-faced, including Frist.

While I would still rather see Frist's bill pass than Specters, to me, the ultimate prize would be HR 4437 followed by immediate enforcement. There have been way too many compromises now.

Of course we should not stop calling our elected reps.

If we are to disagree with the logic of our Founding Fathers then we need take it up with them.

But calls are not enough. They need to see your body in the office also. Up close and personal.

It was said that one does not "believe" that Frist's Bill is "bait and switch" ???? What is a "belief" but based in faith. We have no faith in our elected reps, we ask the following be read again.

"If the committee completes legislation with the guest-worker provisions that the House opposes, Mr. Frist said, he will substitute the committee's bill and withdraw his own."

What is our opinion? We think the Washington Times is accurate.

So if Specter's committee formalizes what they have agreed on, then Frist's Bill will be no more and amnesty will go to the floor.

What several of us are seeing, is that it's possible we may have an amnesty out of the House by late in the night of April 7th.

If we're wrong and we crank up the heat on Congress what is lost?

If we're right, and we work at this then we stand a chance.

If we don't remain vigilant we could lose our Nation.

We may have three weeks. Period.

I keep hearing about a reckoning in May. This is fine and we agree it deserves support; but now is now.

If we keep looking too far ahead and take our eyes off the path we might stumble or get lost.

We may not have till May

We hope we're wrong.

My accolades for Frist are only to suggest his purposes right now may give us some leverage with him. He did Tom dirty, no doubt. But his motivation for doing so may be exactly what gives us leverage with him now. That's all Im saying.

At any rate, as HDMM reasons above on another point, it can't HURT and it may HELP.

And I agree with you HD, that a personal visit to your Congressmen while they are home to talk to their constituents is a trump up on a call. It's not hard to do, it requires no extra resources, heck, might even make me feel alot better to yell at a person instead of into a reciever.

I like the ideas I'm hearing of people planning demonstrations in front of their congressmen's offices. And if it could be coordinated between the different state groups, that would be an event. And not that hard to do.

Focus yourself, and the press on the elected politicians. Put the blame, the "Spotlight" on them, make them explain why they have not secured our borders and enforced our laws.

Roaches hate the light, they hate being the focus of attention.

Give it your best. We may not win this thing, but know in your own heart that you have given all you can.

Don't be limited by the fact that we are doing our protest on the 22nd. This is just a start. It won't be enough in and of itself to achieve victory.

Crank it up, there is hope if we all focus our energies on those roaches who have allowed this to reach thies point.

They are is like a cancer that has spread out of control. We must stop just treating the symptoms and cut the cancer out, remove it entirely.
