I didn't know he was a member of the Immigration Reform Caucus. THAT IS AWESOME FOR US!!

My take on temp work visas for agjobs is I'm for it, as long as USCIS can assure us that these workers WILL GO BACK at the end of their permit period. ALSO, THIS NEEDS TO BE PUT IN THE BILL: NO SPOUSES, CHILDREN OR ANYBODY ELSE EXCEPT THE PERMITTED WORKER IS ALLOWED TO BE HERE DURING THE PERMIT PERIOD.

It defeats our purpose if we:
1) cannot verify they left
2) if family is allowed to come and get free schooling, WIC, welfare, healthcare at our hospitals, etc. The worker is free to go home and visit his family rather than vice versa. HE IS THE ONE WITH THE PERMIT TO COME AND GO, NOT THE FAMILY.

I agree with that, Ex_OC. They should go home after the season is over, and we need a system in place to see that they do.

Yes, I'm so glad I moved here from Mexifornia. One difference I noticed and I told my husband this yesterday, is that here in Idaho, legislators actually RESPOND TO YOU (well, most of them). Even the newspapers and TV! If this was Mexifornia, they would all have IGNORED my emails.

The only email I have received from a California rep was an auto reply.
I keep sending them but I think you guys are going to have to warm up the Helicopter to come get me off the roof top pretty soon.

Just watched the vid and even if the station cut out good parts out of your interview, I think overall it was quite good. You have a relevant story to tell and you got your pts across well.

Seems like the governor has his finger in the wind (and the Chamber of Commerce in his ear) and we'll have to make sure he hears from Idahoans and the American people.

GUYS!! I just checked the home page of Channel 7 KTVB and the Mexican Consulate story is THE MOST EMAILED STORY TODAY!!! Yeah!! That means a lot of people are into this issue!
