Things change. Populations grow around here. Things can get even better than they were before. As for 'socialist agenda,' it's just aspects of this I'm talking about here. We don't even have to call it socialism. And we certainly don't have to do this in the name of any historical figures from other countries.
Nice try claiming you're for secure borders. I think you've exposed yourself as nothing more than an open border troll.

Believe me, I'm for a better and safe USA. With no illegal drugs coming in through the border and anyone willing to work can work and live comfortably. And using ideas that help better our living and freedom and allow us the free time aside from decent working hours to exercise those freedoms to better our society.

Observer, let me tell you about what it all has done to this family. For the first time in 12 years we have a car!!! However, we did not buy it, we could not have afforded to.

A friends, friend donated it to us. He felt God had blessed him and he wanted us to have it so we did not have to carry our groceries home in the cold rain. We thank God for his kindness every day for this.

Luxury? Spoiled brats? We live in a two bedroom place, with 850 square feet, for six people. My husband and I sleep in the garage. We shop thrift stores for our kids clothes.

We do not buy new furniture, nor have we EVER been on a family vacation, till recently, we were stuck just residing in our city, with no way to go on weekend trips. Our kids had never seen the waterfall just a few miles outside of our city buses limits (Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge).

We took our kids on the eastern side of the Cascade mountain range, for the first time in their lives, they are 12 and 8, this is in our own state, but they had never seen it.

Luxury? Never experienced it thanks to reduced wages and higher housing costs.

Thanks to massive illegal immigration. Yes Observer, I do believe that if all the illegal aliens were gone, jobs would be plentiful, but the twist on that would be that employers would be so desperate, they would offer wages that allowed people like oursleves to actually pull ourselves out of poverty. I believe that people like ourselves could afford a modest house of our own, instead of renting a run down slum in which each warming of spring brings in massive carpentar ants, soil ants, and maybe roaches from our new Latino neighbors, along with the rats and mice that are all over this complex as well.

We have a computer, our only luxury. We need it to homeschool our kids, which is necessary since our schools are so overcrowded from the illegals kids and anchor babies.

Observer, it would be nice to live that luxury lifestyle you and others keep talking about. This is my country, why should my standard of living have to be reduced because Mexico cannot, or will not, do whats right for its own citizens, instead they send them here to flood our economy and take jobs and homes from us? Why?

Things sure have changed and populations have grown. Too much of that has been because of illegal immigration. Yes, things can get better than before. With the first step being getting a grip on illegal immigration.

I've had some minimal number of okay experiences such as helping what I strongly suspect being illegal aliens make phone calls and helping some get their cars unstuck from mud type of things -- they seemed like nice enough people.

I've had a number of annoying experiences of illegal aliens more or less taking over parks and recreation areas without any consideration for other users by playing music way too loud, drinking where it's prohibited, public intoxication, and likely a proclivity for drunk driving. All things that are very very unlikely behavior in those places for the non-immigrant population (except for maybe the drunk driving) -- so not very considerate people to say the least.

I've had negative experiences with home invasion type breakins and theft -- definitely criminals and bad.

But, my isolated personal experiences are not the point. The point is that all countries, including this country, have immigration laws for a multitude of reasons. Those reasons include, but are not limited to, ensuring adequate wage levels for citizens, environmental protection and resource preservation, ensuring the health of citizens through health screening of any immigrants, ensuring the safety of citizens through criminal background checks, guarding against overpopulation, maintaining national sovereignty, maintaining a sense of cultural, language, and national cohesion, reducing the community cost of assimilation, education, infrastructure -- all things that combine to determine the quality of life for citizens. An illegal alien forces him/herself on a nation regardless of the will of the people or the government of the nation. In a sense, illegal immigration is the non-sexual rape of a nation -- forcing that nation to give something it hasn't agreed or doesn't want to give. (I realize we have a bunch of native pimps that are selling us out and making it possible.)

Nations, which are generally defined as groups of people with like minded attitudes under a single government, have borders to protect themselves from the follies of other nations. The United States some time ago wisely took into account that overpopulation would lead to a diminished quality of life (until Ted Kennedy and business greed got control of things, anyway). Mexico obviously didn't put a high priority on such considerations. There is nothing wrong or immoral with using our borders for their intended purpose of protecting our wisdom from the folly of Mexico and others. It may be one thing to think we have a moral obligation to help those less fortunate (or wise); but it is quite another to think we have a moral obligation to become the less fortunate (or wise).

I understand your situation and I wish things weren't that harsh. But what do you mean by "and maybe roaches from our new Latino neighbors" ? What is that supposed to mean? I hope your family is doing alright right now.

I actually do hear it often, but don't believe it. What is your source? Spokespersons from anti-American groups like LULAC & La Raza like to throw those figures around, but have not proof. Show me the data. I think you are full of it. Regardless of how much illegals put into the system, what they take is much much more! What they are sending to their countries of origin is atronomical. Most don't have loyalty to this country. Come on, give me a break!

Its not that illegals (most of them) are bad people. Its that they broke the law by coming here illegally, stealing American jobs, make up 30% of criminals incarecerated in our prisons, crowd our schools, hospitals, and use all benefits that are reserved for the American people. Hmmm! I guess that might help you figure out why Americans are so passionate about people entering OUR country illegally.

Actually, I know for a fact that I know some illegal aliens personally and I suspect I know a whole lot more of them than I THINK I know. This country, according to UTEP is comprised of 51% illegal aliens, most of whom are from Mexico.

I don't dislike the ones I know with few exceptions and those I don't like give not even the others a reason to like them. The ones I've come into contact with are nice enough and if they are deported, I hope some of them will get in the line to come legally because they would make good neighbors and friends for anyone.

But I still don't think this county can afford illegal aliens. It is a hard thing to say that I would like to see people I know deported but what else can we do? If we say, OK, we are gonna keep this one because she's my friend, even though she is doing nothing to contribute to this society, then if ten million more people say, "we have to keep this one because s/he is my friend, what will we have? It can't be two ways.
