I was very surprised at what he said in this interview and I would not now or ever support him for any political office!
To give the devil his due, however, perhaps he and his wife being recently shot at outside their home, may have put a real fear of crossing these people anymore. Whatever the reason for his change if he is going to let himself be frightened that easily and change his whole presentation of how he feels about illegal immigration, I personally do not feel that he is strong enough to run on any ticket for any office nor should he be appointed to any office! Until now I have stayed neutral about him. I did not join in pushing him for president or any other office because I felt that I did not know him well enough and I am very glad that I took that attitude!

Well Lou put 8 million in the bank which was his pay off from CNN. I really don't think he cares what anybody thinks about him. People can call him on his radio show and tell him what you think. I have it sent to me to keep track of what he's doing. www.loudobbs.com/newsletters

Another thing is his wife may have illegal relatives living here. As far as I ever heard his in-laws work on his farm in NJ.

Re: Shocking Lou Dobbs Video! Opinions Needed ASAP

Wow. Ladies and Gentlemen, fellow Patriots! Let's not flip our judgments of Lou Dobbs based solely on this one interview with Telemundo. I have been a member of ALIPAC for several years now and have watched and supported Lou Dobbs even longer. Yet longer than that, I have been vociferously opposed to the exponential growth of illegal aliens and their harmful affects to this country.

Yes, I did watch the video in its entirety and saw the concerning remarks that Lou Dobbs made in this interview, but what I also saw was that Lou Dobbs was himself on every other occasion and he has stood up to illegal immigration AND offshoring of jobs AND so many other topics that to simply write him off after one interview where he really didn't explain the details of what he meant by those statements is ridiculous. I, like many here, would like for Lou Dobbs to elaborate on what he meant by those statements in particular before I would write him off. That's how I have been brought up. Jumping to conclusions and saying Lou now supports illegal immigration is false and just adds to the "rhetoric" of a non-constructive debate.

I also (like you) can see no possible issue that would render one specific illegal alien to be given a pass and a path to citizenship over another illegal alien. They have all already broken the law. But I would like to hear Lou's explanation of his comments and see where it is he is coming from. He may be thinking that only those who could prove their life to be in danger by moving back to their original country could be given a pass. I don't know, why not wait for the details of what he meant.

I have a brother-in-law whose sister married an illegal alien. They have a child already and because our nation was so laxidasical on enforcing our own laws, we now have many hundreds of thousands to millions of people in a similar situation. My brother-in-law understands enforcing the laws, but he wishes there was a way that his sister's husband could stay in the country and process for citizenship. I told him my strict feelings on the issue that although I understand their worries and concerns, that it was not the fault of the American people that our government and system has waited so long to do what's right and enforce our immigration laws. On this note, I told him that if we legalize his sister's husband's case, then we legalize possibly millions more similar cases and to me, that was a form of Amnesty. His sister should have known what she was getting into if she knew he was illegal. He should have known too.

Anyway, back to Lou Dobbs. I have to say that I am not happy to see the couple of statements that he made in the interview and feel that it's possibly due to him being human and making a poor choice in words to use in the interview. Also, it makes perfect sense that if he is going to run for office, that he does something "Constructive" in nature (in the true Lou Dobbs class & manner) and "reach out" to all parties involved in coming up with a solution that most people can agree too. Whether that means he may give in a little to the opposition or not still needs to be clarified further (at least for myself). I am not willing to throw a long-time ally under the bridge for 2 statements before clarification. I too live by the motto of "No Surrender! No Amnesty!", but we should all give the longtime respected Mr. Dobbs, his fair shake in our courtroom.

I am very disappointed in Lou Dobbs. Number one, he let this bitch
walk all over him while backing down like a 'whipped puppy'...and #2,
he did a complete turnaround on his STANCE on ILLEGAL ALIENS, not mentioning one time that they broke OUR LAW BY JUST COMING HERE TO BEGIN WITH. He seemed to have one 'memory lapse after another' when he had the opportunity to state the facts....which ARE that illegals are draining us dry financially and turning America into a 3rd world country. I have absolutely no confidence in this man any longer and am glad that I no longer have to see his face on TV. It will not surprise me one bit if he suddenly announces that he's running for a seat in the Senate as a damned liberal!!!!

I have already withdrawn my support and and pledge as have others. That amount was before the telemundo interview, so that number is now not accurate.

I won't support anyone who has behaved as Dobbs did, just another loser politician.

Welcome to the ALIPAC Forum, yankee0001!

And I agree with you 100%. Lou Dobbs, our only source of main stream media news about immigration, free trade and outsourcing, deserves time to clarify his statements.

Lou Dobbs has lost me as a fan forever. You can preach and preach all you want to but you can't undo the damage he's done to himself not only with activists but with non activists. EVERYBODY has heard about it and the ones I've heard from it has left a bad taste in their mouths. Not good.

Thank you Judy! I think our fellow members can be better than that in such a quick rush to judgment of a longtime ally. I too am concerned, but throwing all support out for Lou Dobbs just shows that we did not know who we were supporting in the first place. It's damaging to ALIPAC's reputation as well when such quick and sharp judgments are made without further explanation.
